The Garlean guy says "The stench of Shadow lingers still", I always thought he meant something by it but now things are starting to make sense maybe. When the airship crashes in the opening CG cutscene the Primals are released maybe they are the Shadows he is mentioning. I know we see Ifirit and work with them sort of but I have always had this suspicion that they are actually the bad guys not the Garleans. Adding some more fuel to the fire here, but i'm not sure if this NPC's dialogue was changed after 1.17 patch, or just recently
But Blandhem guarding the gates of camp black brush is saying "Blandhem: An Ul'dahn ferry was sunk by a Garlean airship just off the peninsula to the southwest. We've bolstered the watch here at Camp Black Brush."

According to eorzeapedia it used to be: "Nothing out of the ordinary here. Be kind enough to report anything queer you might see."

Like I said, maybe this was changed post 1.17 patch and nothing too recent....but hey you never know.

I noticed a lot of NPCs saying different things since the patch, even in obscure places like Quarrymill. I thought that maybe it was just my imagination but now I guess it wasn't. Maybe they have hidden easter eggs hinting at this event in random corners of the world.

I wanna see it too :(

Hey Mack... what is interesting are these Deaspected Crystals that are dropping. What can they be for? They are for sale in the wards now so they are not Rare/ex. Someone said one Npc refers to ferry's having mobs >.>. What is happening???

Yea i have one of those are they dropping at random from any mobs? I didn't notice which mob gave me this one, should be interesting. I'm gonna take a ride on the ferry maybe something will show up. I hope we get something more concrete soon, I hope this doesn't drag out for a week.

I kind of eluded to this lasting a week from a translation of what the GM said while in town. A week would be Thursday. Thursday would correspond to our update we were promised every 2 weeks I think. This is shaping up nicely.

Yeah, it is raining in mor dhona too

So... so far we have warnings then crystals dropping, then no music, then rain....

lol if this rain keeps up for days everywhere no one is going to be fighting any Dodores. :D

In uldah it just kept raining straight through a weather change (Bodhum)

Weather changed to dark weather while I was there.

I wonder if in preparation for this "imminent threat" the companies will make available Chocobos and Airships to fight back...one can hope.

What makes me wonder is this "There is still hope" like we can do something to stop it. So, I was wondering how we could do that. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the crystals maybe just speculation. It definitely is referring to the ferry's for sure. Would it be too much to hope we would get a new city, choco's and airships o.O. I can't wait to find out.

It rained for the entire four hours I was in Shroud DoLing just now, but rain there is more common than not so thought nothing of it.

Okay I just spoke with the Drybone guard Z'llayan and she said: Fools being named by others as the newly come Archons have been heard spouting nonsense about the end of the world. Pay them and their empty words no heed.

So I guess the NPCs spawning around are the Archons, pretty cool how they tied everything with this event...I hope all events are this deep and play a role in the story from here on out.

Sidonia: No dragon sightings today, I am afraid. But I did come across a queerly dressed bard who sung an off-key ballad foretelling such rubbish as the falling of the Heavens and the rising of bloodthirsty colossi. If you ask me, I should have sliced out his rotten tongue right then and there.

Tarok Magurok: Ne'er till land consumes sun can sea bear moons.Heavens spew crimson flame, hells seep black...er...Hells seep black... Blast! I can never remember that line.

Also I don't know if this is new, but an NPC in Ul'dah adventurer's guild said this:

Yhah Amariyo: Ul'dahns believe great dangers prowl the lands beyond the city walls under cover of darkness. Cold fiends, come from the realm of the dead to stalk the living.
The miners tell of how they claw their way up from deep below ground when the moons begin their ascent.
And if you don't tell this story to six other people within a week's time, they will come for you, and no city walls will keep you safe.

This event is starting to creep me out a bit haha. It's really cool though, I'm excited to find out what's coming.

The part about the bloodthirsty colossi rising sounds awesome/epic/ridiculously cool. Im hoping this is what gives FF14 the huge "NOW THATS WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT!" that we have all been waiting for.

Elezen GMs... where are the Lalafell GMs I asked for? Has anyone seen any other types of GMs pop up besides that one?

Hes got an outfit Ive never seen before, its unlike any GMs ive seen before. At first I only noticed him because of the GM icon and then the outfit caught my eye.

Ignore my sassy comments, I was hoping to egg him into talking. No luck, he didnt say a word. I doubt he even spoke any english.

Like everything else SE does in FFXIV, I have no idea what he was doing.
