I had an MTR running for the last 2 hours. I was at 10% packet loss, but dropped to 3 over the last hour.
After restarting it, I'm now getting 0% for the first 5 minutes.
Someone must have jiggled a cable....

I tried to do what they did with the netstat and finding the ip in the other topic, ping is fine in tracert, still rubberbanding and delay, this is still not an acceptable service in 2013 for me, I'm sorry it's just not on par, it's impossible to be doing anything decent -_-
Lag issue here...impossible to play after the maintenance. I'm very annoyed about it.

all after second maintenance
Since maintenance today things are worse than ever. I cast protect and 3 seconds later the animation starts. Health bars are like 2 casts behind what i have cast. I cast a cure and all my buttons remain greyed out for a further 1 or 2 seconds. Sorry but this far from a pay worthy service in its current state.
Okay after some testing
pinging the server for a few minutes shows zero packet loss.
tracert gives hops on avg of 100 ms
I can download P2P at high speed
Beta 3 worked beatifully and since then things have gotten progressively worse. I have tried forwarding ports, dmz nothing makes a difference!
Same issues
Same here (no issue till today).
provider : Numericable

I have the same issue as the rest of these players. After updating at 12:30 EST, logged in, noticed it a little and even more when I started moving around and going to different places. Joined a dungeon and could not even click buttons on my toolbar, the lag was so bad. Went back to work, and now five hours later I re-logged in and same issues.
NA Server: Diabolos

Client Location: New York - United States
It seems not every one has this issue which is weird.
I never had this type of lag up to the maintenance.
But it is unplayable, mining something has a 5 second delay.
On titan I don't see the bombs spawn sometimes, they just flash on the screen out of the blue.
It's not consistent lag either, it's just a huge spike or a freeze.
I've problems in any instance at the moment since I have no idea when the spike hits, I can't participate like you can with lag.
I traced my connection down but it seems to be all fine.
The question is when is this going to get fixed
Since if I'm very honest the servers are already pretty bad, the build in delay makes the game unresponsive.
Data centre in Canada as well.
Having to deal with random lag spikes is just a bit too much.
SE said they would provide us with quality servers and it would be fine for the EU.
It isn't and stuff like this is making it even worse.
Same here on ps3...on a 50mb line so no issues.... however in dungeons I move out of circles straight away and still get hit. I see my heals actioned graphics etc but dont register and the tank dies...been unable to use df due to this issue. As a healer who cant heal or move from simple aoe is useless.
It honestly feels like I am trying to pick up pennies while wearing boxing gloves atm.
Bump still laggy as heck in dungeons
Me too, many lag.
Just done a Castrum run and managed to avoid all AoE with ease.
I'm starting to think perhaps these Micky Mouse servers just cannot cope with the load during peak times and suspect the bean counters at Square will be demanding a return on their investment before releasing the required funds needed to fix this.
So we have went from servers we could not log into to servers that let us on but with a vastly deteriorated quality of service.
If Square are serious about this product then I suggest they put there money where their mouth is, give the community a backend with enough muscle to cope with the demand.
I am wholly confident were I to roll a character on a low population server that I would see a remarkable improvement of performance during peak hours.
</rant>
Been having this problem since launch (didn't have it in beta 4 though).
dont think this is a server issue with high population density since its happening across a lot of different servers
Is this similar to y'alls issue?http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...s-everybody%29
Yeah looks similar, although the fact this appeared right after yesterday's maintenance is bothering me (I was aware of others having that issue, but never experienced it on my end until yesterday).
Not only cannot I tank anything with this lag, but I cannot even do some crafting/gathering without constant lag on all my actions. The lack of answer from SE is also not encouraging. I'll wait until this is addressed before subscribing as this is making it very hard to love the game.
Same here, since yesterday's maintenance(the 2 hours long one), I have gamebreaking latency issues, I can't even play since when aoe appears, i'm already dead(not just on the verge of dying, but dead).
Server : Ragnarok
ISP : numericable
Country : france
It happens at all times , I tried yesterday afternoon, evening and this morning, the result is the same.
I didn't have much latency related issues before, only a few rare freezes every now and then and the "normal" latency considering that the servers are a bit far from EU.
Stuttering, lag, my graphic cards show 90-99% activity-usage after last maintenance.
Graphics are loading while "walking".
This issue was not here before maintenance. Everything was smooth (not counting skill activation delay-hit registration etc.)
Looks like the same issue to me.
And based on reports from within FC, some people that used to have lag issues like this now no longer have it, and others that didn't use to have it now have it.
Can't we get an official response regarding this matter? This is a gamebreaking issue for many and we all lose paid playtime due to this problem.
Been getting strange lag issues post-maintenance for my character too, namely in instances:
1) With treasure: loot/pass options not registering, having to redo them. I wasn't the only one who had this problem, either.
2) This, from an accepted bug report:I had issues in general just getting the game to target the ONLY mob that was in front of me on my screen, and nothing else could be targeted (not even allies). This was especially true with the mini-boss mob in Tam-Tara Deepcroft.Quote:
When, as melee, you try to hit a mob that is moving and it becomes virtually impossible because according to the server, you're WAY further from the mob from what you can see on the screen, making the skill you're spamming/trying to use repeatedly starting in your screen, but not finishing to cast/getting interrupted non stop as long as the mob runs (as a monk this sucks, because it makes you lose all your buffs, besides doing 0 DPS). Note that you can hit the mob if you run (in your screen) IN FRONT of it, which is totally stupid, but in other players screens, and in the server, that would translate into you running behind it.
3) Abilities stopping in the middle of animation, then the completion animation showing. Again, exaggerated in instances like dungeons.
I noticed this as well, not all the time, but frequently enough to be noticed.
Hyperion NA
Bump.
The lag is still there and it is still unplayable for some. Why don't we get an official response? What use does a support forum have when no one answers?
I doubt they will do anything until next maintenance, even then they will keep the build in delay.
Which means any lag spike from you or the server(usually the server here) will pretty much screw stuff up.
The only time I saw this type of delays was in Vanilla WOW when the servers where not able to handle the load.
On the other hand that was back in the stone age.
Also every one had a problem with it, not every one has it now.
Guildy from the same country has no problem what so ever, while everything blinks infront of me.
From my side all stuff seems fine so how does the server decide who gets screwed over?
too busy fixing chat i guess
i hope this maintenance will fix whatever the last maintenance screwed up
same issue, game's unplayable like this
Regrettably, I am experiencing the same issues. Start/stop/start/stop. I have reset the network, tried an alternate connection, updated everything, reinstalled everything... I've been thorough, and it persists. Clearly, there is an issue. It was especially apparent when attempting the Titan Hard fight today. I failed miserably, because all action would pause momentarily, then resume, making it almost impossible to dodge area attacks - or even see them at times until it was too late.
This issue did not exist prior to the latest maintenance.
Getting the same issues here.
Can hardly fight Titan this way at all! I get pulses of lag and next thing I know, I'm at the bottom of the pit. This happened to me after the last maintenance as well.

I'm getting these issues as well. On avg every 2-6s I lag for 1-3s. Skipping everywhere. I assumed it was server load, until I started asking people around me and they were not getting this. Ran ping tests and my connection is fine. Other games are fine. No change in hardware.
Cox in Irvine, Orange County.
Called and they said they don't throttle. But of course I have no idea if I am to believe them.
I also have Cox in Irvine, OC
Been having the same problem since maintenance this week. The game stutters a lot. I originally thought it was only in dungeons but I've been getting the same thing while crafting.
Also using Cox in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Same as most people. After this last patch I've been getting weird lag spikes. Every 5 seconds or so there will be a 1-2 second lag then everything zooms to catch up. This happens in town, crafting, and tried a few different dungeons, all the same. I've tried port forwarding, resetting the router/modem, etc. Pinging the server shows about 103-110ms. Oddly though, it seems like it's easier to get out of aoe circles without taking damage, if I happen to not be having a lag spike (compared to normally having to clear the red circle a second or so before the circle disappears to avoid damage). I'm also using Cox Cable near Phoenix, AZ. Speed tests show it's a 33Mbps download, 10Mbps upload.
This makes harder content near impossible. I could do CM just fine since it's an easy dungeon, and helping guildies out with things like Chimera and Darkhold are alright. I can't imagine trying to do the HM primals or AK with it doing this crap.
i think i found the fix... go back to settings and put up default -- well it worked for me at least
Since yesterday I've had this issue, too. It's much worse today. I'll summon my chocobo and it can take up to 5-10 seconds for it to appear. Changing classes takes several tries, very laggy. Have to click NPCs multiple times before anything pops up. Have lost connectivity, battle and others rubber band and lag... It's a big pain.
I tried resetting the settings, and it's not helping. Playing something else until it's fixed.
