Same thing can go back to you. You don't have anything to do other than leves, behest, leves. I went all over the place to farm materials. I bet I have killed more mobs than you. In other words, I am more "adventure" than you. You're just starting playing FFXIV for LOL.
Wrong in every way.
1) Leves? Sir, I don't do leves and have not done leves since I got CON to 50.
2) Behest? Up until this recent update, it was another waste of time.
3) Grinding is a better way of exp over time than leves are. It's better when they are combined.
4) NMs are my main source of enjoyment currently.
5) Adventurer? No sir you are not. I have every crystal and node marked as well as good "camp" locations for grind parties at certain levels.
6) Just starting? Sir, I've been playing since Beta 1. I also started on September 30th. I'm guessing you received your assumption from my signature. The reason for lack of high level jobs is simple this: I hate the classes in this game and the crafting is horrible, imo.
Again, I want Final Adventure Fantasy, not Final Craft Fantasy. More straight drops from NMs, like real games, please.
Well, the only problem I have with the new NMs is the spawn timer and the drop rates. Went 2-41 on Kokoroon Quickfinger's Dark Mail but he pops every 5 minutes.
Yes, you do leves, behest, leves before you get to 50.
Then again, you do do behest "until" recent update.
Wrong, doing leves is the best way to gain SP (800SP/kill). If you do it right.
Then, you just proof that you have nothing else to do than camping at NWs site.
Sounds like only you have marked all the camp location for party grind.
OK, i get that you really hate this class system in this game. That's why you only have one class get to r50 and have another class to r47 which doesn't count as real class. Question is, why stay?
So, drop equipments from mobs make it "real game". Don't you feel that dropping hides and horns from mobs make this game feel more realistic?
I would like it to have increased drop rates and increased spawn times because every time you kill it it's kind of disheartening when you don't get drop (btw I was 0-40 then got it twice in a row lol). I like killing him but would prefer it if he popped every 15 minutes instead of every 5 and was 3x more likely to drop it.
1) I DID leves, a lot, on CON until I hit 45 then I grinded to 50. On THM, I only grind in parties.
2) Again, until this recent update, behest was a waste of time due to too many people being in a party and it only happening once an hour. Yes, I do participate in a behest if I happen to be near a camp when it starts, but it's not my main source of leveling.
3) Wrong. Leves gain a ton of SP in a small amount of time, but they have a very small limit. 8 leves every 36 hours. If 8 leves give you...10 mobs a leve at 800sp per mob kill that = 64ksp in 36 hours, congratulations! Now, grinding raptors at 45, I was getting 340 per kill with 2 other people in the party and they went down relatively quickly. I dare say we killed 100 raptors in an hour, easily. Now, doing simple math, we see that 100 mobs/hr * 340sp/mob = 34000sp. Say I grind for 2 hours, I've already doubled the Sp that you got and will get for the next 34ish hours. In 36hrs you may gain 64-100k sp, but in 36 hours, just from grinding, I'll gain so much more (1,224,000sp to be exact, based off of the above estimations).
4) I didn't say that I had nothing else to do, I just said that NMs are my main source of enjoyment since the crafting is horrible and item fatigue prevents excessive gathering =)
5) No, I have every location's teleport, but I have taken note of the decent SP locations, yes.
6) I stay because I enjoy downing NMs with friends and I have hope for the game. I also know that they will release classes in the future that will be better than the current classes. There is more to the game than just crafting and different classes.
7) I'm not going for realism. This is FINAL FANTASY. Take note of the word "Fantasy." If I wanted a realistic game, I would go play Counterstrike or something similar. What I mean by "real game" is what games always have been and always should be. Yes, I like that some NMs drop materials, because I understand that some people craft, but not all NMs should drop materials because then that puts too much power into the hands of the crafters and not enough into those that actually work for the items (battle wise)
There are some peices that could be argued for even at 50. Yes the defensive stats are pitiful that far along but the +acc +attack +m.acc are pretty darned potent. If im not actively tanking or in serious danger of taking collateral damage, darn Skippy i would be rocking my darkshell mail. and heck the night hawk visor is serious competition for the skull eye patch and even the silver tri-corn.
though to be honest, as a player who grows his pile of gil via crafting and gathering. the only thing that worries me in the slightest is the "Consolation prizes" that come from them. the poor Goldsmiths are going to get there profit margins wrecked.
Once the materia system comes this won't be that big of an issue, esspecially since crafters are sopose to be able to alter stats. However, I think quick spawning high drop rate NM's is stupid.
There needs to be a way to get gear that doesn't involve trading with players because we all know the crafting elite can end up being those greedy high price setting people.
Also, while SE does want DoW/M DoH and DoL to work together, this game was never supposed to be some sort of economic experiment that has player made gear ONLY -.-
I'd have to agree with the OP somewhat, I'm not really a crafter as such, I only have my crafts to fix my own gear, however SE originally planned for crafting classes to be full classes and not a side-class like FF11's crafting system.
What they have done here has basically lessened the money or viability of crafting within the 25-35 rank range, obviously not everyone is going to go farm NM's for hours to get untradable gear but many will, and not only that they will hold on to this gear and reuse it again, its even impacted further by the fact that no gear is restricted by level so players can use this gear from rank 1 if they so wish to.
IMO the devs would have been better of making this gear craftable and had the NM's drop key components similar to the previous NM's, I doubt so many people would have been complaining about respawn timers either if all they dropped were material items.
Edit:- also lets not forget that these NM's drop ridiculous amount of other "craftable" loot which is just adding salt to the wound, sure many of the tradeable items they drop are pretty common but its just flooding an economy that is already saturated, pretty stupid move there SE.
not a big deal, they just another choices but doesn't mean they won't release any new recipes in the future
Yes.. it's better this way.. if it was better drop rate and longer respawn times it would have been much more boring to hunt.. especially when you have competition..
It'd be like "oh no they got it, we gotta wait for another hour.." hell no.. I prefer fast spawns and crappy drop rate.. at least I have something to do instead of waiting..
Of course in FFXI there were NMs with long respawn times and crappy drop rates.. but let's not bring those back.. okay..? I've spent days getting my O.kote and Fuma kyahan in Oztroja.. ><
