Yeah that was fun. :)

I wouldn't mind 24 hour pop NM's as long as they have a very long spawn window. Something like a 24-36 hour NM that drops really good endgame items. It would prevent camping.
I would like 24 up to 48 Hours NM's. and also a HQ NM with a Spam up to 1 or 2 Weeks?
Its some difficulty i really would like, beside really rare Items it will make a LS stronger due the competition they will have. If people say it was bad in FFXI, tell me why you always had competition if they were bad?!...
But at this point i believe they will be normal NM's like the current ones. Dont forget we are at the moment at a Rank50 Cap.. so there is no Point in adding the "Big Shit" yet.
i had everything from kings and wyrms.
do i want to go through that again? no.
just makes stuff with more difficulty, claiming an NM was never part of the fun, its a bot fest
players become lazy they want short recast on everything -.- i guess most players piss they could not get joytoy or black belt lol. come on when i got my black belt i was happy like hell at least make them 6hour repop.
Top of that yoshi-p said he adding staff for hardcore players even quest that would take a lot of time it be many chain quest to get one item. I sure he even going to add NM that would be long pop.
So just deal with it i'm sure he going to add stuff for players who don't have much time also but to get any awesome staff you have to waste your time for.
there could be fun and fair ways to obtain rare items. Tournaments for example, very challenging quests, random location/time spawns, random loot that could be dropped from any mob and so on
You know whats fun, going 6 days seeing NQ pops, then the 7th day HQ pops and server crash.
If you consider these NM's endgame you ain't seen nothing yet. Get off yer high horse. Really an overinflated ego over some mobs that will be easy soon is not worth it. Don't insult the casual player. There are alot of ppl that play this game for fun. I know you might consider that strange but there is actually alot of them.
It is kinda sad to see how uncommitted you guys are.... now I understand why the JP players laugh at the NA's
I say all nms should be on Dodore's spawn time. 8 on, 8 off (without the randomness.)
The HEAT of endgame is who has a better bot program or who can sit there waiting for hours on end for an attempt to fight something? Why not instead focus on making the mob being able to be popped (you can keep a longer cooldown to pop again) with the encounter itself being more difficult than getting the claim? Nothing makes the it "harder" or "more fun" to sit there waiting on pops with the chance of not even getting it.
I am not against strong / hard nms. I actually wan them.
I am not against rare items.
I am pretty sure I can "handle the HEAT of endgame".
I am against putting such limiting content at this point in time.
I am against content that will obviously be available only for a select few at this point in time. Good joob e-peening in an empty game.
I am actually okay with this kind of thing LATER ON, when camping a single NM for hours is a choice and not the only option.
Also, It's funny how people in this thread are saying that it's "HARD" to camp NMs with long repops, that this is 'real difficulty'. An engaging battle where we can be wiped at any point is hard. Solving a hard puzzle (without looking in a external website, of course =P) while fighting a strong monster is hard. Anyone can stand still in the same spot for hours waiting till a mob appears, that's not hard at all.
Players should be able to log in, kill shit that they want, when they want.
Not log in, find out that the miniscule 3hour window was done 6 hours ago and then herp derp the rest of their night in Jueno doing laps. Seriously people.
If you guys see camping for 24h pops as a fun endgame... i feel sorry for you.
That's a choice you make. Dumb people revolve their schedules around a game. Develop some self control.
Regardless, a lot of the points about camping people are making in this thread are moot. They can make them spawn in random areas with long windows so people don't camp them. You just run there when they pop.
sorry but... 24 hr nm are for as the japanese called them NEETs. :)
honestly you guys get off on limiting gameplay or players... ffxiv isn't gonna have ppl play if content is so limiting.
this is the first mmo where ppl wanted it "harder" and "time consuming"
sorry even if I play 12+ hrs a day don't mean ima want to sit and wait for nms.
heck took me 4 years to get bounding boots. Missed alot of parties cuz of that.
No one is saying not to make them hard....but eventually they WONT be hard once you kill it 5 times over...Hence why you need some type of restricting second layer...IE: 24hr spawns, random pops in different maps, etc...
No one is arguing on the difficulty, you just need to make sure that you add something else other than that. Dodore was hard, for a week...lol.
People will camp it, LS will have people in all zones looking for it.. You need to make it hard+rare spawn / restriction to amount of times you can do it (Odin is a great example).
What are you a WOW vegetable?
There is a HUGE difference between a 'skilled and dedicated gamer" and someone who does not have enough self-control and gets addicted to some MMO, or simply escapes his shitty RL to play a game.
I know people who were too busy to dump out, they shat them self infront of their screen....
I want NMs do be on a six hour spawn. Some on an hour spawn. MAYBE one or two on a 24 hour spawn BUT not a claim system, a force-spawn system. Something like "you are locked out of spawning this NM for 24 more hours." I don't want to go back to the days of drama over dalmatica and ridill... I had a dalmatica and it made me no more hardcore compared to the players who didn't have it. I had the time to camp it which they didn't. Hardcore isn't about "Oh, I can sit at my pc for 48 hours at a time before subcoming to sleep deprivation and hunger pains." It is being able to kill that difficult monster, being able to push my character to the limits, and being able to learn how to adapt your character and to test different things with you character like stats/gear/m.def. True hard core players know this; the hipster "name-sake" hard core gamers.
So the next step is to create a barrier where most people won't even see the encounter unless they stand around for hours on end and even then most likely not get a claim? I guess i'd be ok with random pops across the entire zone so we don't see claim bots, although i'd agree save it for much later when there is more stuff for people to do. I'd still rather see, a triggerable pop that can only be done once a day/guildleve reset/week/month/whatever so everyone can have the "chance" to even fight it.
you need gameer AA and yes it does excist there is such thing as being addicted to video games you sound like a NEET or like the completely insane character from an anime about NEETs he was a tarutaru looking character in the animes mmo (which was a parody of ffxi) the guy was trying to get rich from rmt-ing his sister was part of a ponzi scheme who got arrested. And he relyed on her for food etc. he had crawled out of the house begging for food till he found a job.
I seen it happen irl also.... its sad.
Make it 24hr with a 1 hr window, make it hard, and make it resistant to emulate. simple. Oh and make the drop rate under 5%.
players saying about bots we going to have them with 1hour or 24hours matter what.
