Because of the restrictions I haven't even looked at forums other than new player help because I can't post in those forums. Am I the only one who is doing this? I didn't realize it until a few minutes ago.

I got perma-banned from the beta forums essentially for expressing sympathy to someone (won't go into details, I don't wanna be banned again), which got me a 10 day ban, and during that 10 day ban, I was notified of having violated the ToS yet again (IMPOSSIBLE, btw, since I was already suspended), and then permanently banned. I contacted SE about it but they never responded to my ticket. :/Quote:

I'm really not interested in lurking the other sections much if something could use participation in it'd be pointlessly frustrating.
the beta forums were monitored to ban anything that could even remotely be dissenting towards the game and SE in particular which is why it turned into the toilet it did.
removing all of one side of an argument creates a vacuum and the posters left start trying to create they're own arguments to fill it. so we got thousands of pointless threads spamming and trolling. it was really funny to watch happen actually. -

The problem is there are too many different issues that are related to the restrictions. One person may need to level up before they can even post while others can't even post even though they are leveled up. The whole thing is related to the forum restrictions and hopefully multiple topics will get someone to notice it. In the mean time this section of the forum will keep getting flooded with posts and most threads will get left behind with no one ever seeing them.

And if they crack down on the 'off topic' threads here, then people will just abandon the forums altogether for everything aside from bug reports. It'll be a glorified bug report forum. It seems like I will have to find a good free company that has its own forums but that's going to limit who I interact with. I wonder who even suggested this daily post limit. If they were really tired of so many people posting on the beta forums they could have easily implemented this system there. It would have at least cut off a majority of the troll posts.

A subscription fee REALLY clears out the number of people willing to risk their accounts for a chuckle. You'd think they'd at least see how these forums go first... I could see maybe having restrictions until fees start, and lift the limit for all active accounts...but if they keep them in place even after I'm paying, I'll DEFINITELY go elsewhere. There's lots of XIV sites like ZAM etc. I'll go where ever it appears most of the community goes.Quote:
