Hi Gilbert! You sound like you would be a great fit for our FC, Amity Fields. Relaxed, in the field RP is pretty much our bread and butter. We're not a large group, but we're all fairly active. Be sure to poke Yini Kihn if you think you're interested, and tell her Chloe sent you!

I've always enjoy catching snippets of the various rping going in the cities. The last time I role-played in a game was quite awhile back, a lot more than a few years but not sure of the actual number. Always considered doing some of it on here but I'm rustier than a weathered pick-axe so I've been pretty hesitant about picking it back up again. ^_^; In the past though I did stay IC unless of course there was a serious issue like Gilbert mentioned in one of his posts as an example. Of course I have been working on a journal of sorts in regards to a back story for my main character which was suppose to be short and turned out into 5 pages and counting. Guess where I'm getting at is that I'm considering about doing some rping in the game by easing myself in.

How does one get a linkpearl for Intermission? I'd love one for myself and my fiance.

I don't role play myself but I am very happy to have the role playing community here on Balmung. Overall I have found them to be very mature and welcoming to new players. Thank you all and keep it up. Set an example and keep the community strong in and out of role play.

I am definitely a role player except, well, when there are non-role players. Some people don't like it and thats fine. But if your a role player(or not) and need a healer and eventual tank, hit me up as Cedane Alvey. The over-thinker is always there!

if you shout in ul'dah, you'll usually have the best chances, since there's always at least one intermission member in ul'dah and word travels fast!

I am excited to play with some RP'ers. I have always wanted to have a community to contribute towards in FFXIV : ARR. I will try that link and see if I can hail someone from the Official Balmung RP LinkShell :) -Exo

I'm new to Final Fantasy XIV and new to MMORPGs. If anybody wants a tank on their side who is around level 17, feel free to add me. I'm a complete newb to this genre but am loving the experience so far (aside from the servers being worked on...).

Can't wait to see all the RP action, i had viewed one and it was so cool and interesting! i would love to join the action but sadly tooooo nervous and shy, hopefully i get the courage to do so!

As long as they don't try to make my dungeon run a novel, I'm alright with it.

I never knew Balmung was the unofficial rp server, even in 1.0. It must have been a really small community back then, because I don't remember seeing much RP in the old days. However I see it here and there now in towns. Always fun to stop and listen, brings an extra little life to the server.

I can only speak for myself and my group of friends, but we never bring RP into a dungeon unless it's a group full of RPers. It's pretty rude to hold up a DF that include people with different in game priorities. There's plenty of opportunity for RP elsewhere! :)

Ah, RP. I find myself missing that extra immersion as of late. All of the nostalgia in FFXIV:ARR has gotten me thinking back to the good times on the ol' Sylph server in FFXI, and it makes me wish I hadn't missed the boat on the pre-launch transfers. I see lots of new names, or at least names new to me, but it makes me wonder how many I might remember, and how many remember me.

When the chance presents itself, I hope to leave Adamantoise and find my way into a good RP community. :)

Wait when the fuck did this become the RP server lol been on it since 1.0 and yeh theres some people here and there but rare.

As far as i know it been already a server where RPers went too in 1.0, its why i picked Balmung when i bought the game back then. I have to admit i haven't seen any public RP yet, though there where many events last weekend i believe. I met however plenty of RPers (easy to recognize by their names and when you get to talk with them and ask if they RP most people so far say yes). For now everyone is still busy gearing and leveling up like is always the case when a game is new or a expansion came out. I bet we will see more RP in public once people got settled.

You know, back in 1.0 I never knew this was an rp server. In ARR, I still didn't know. Now I know, and those 2 random rps I witnessed make more sense. You'd think for an rp server more people would respond to "Hail fellow adventurer! Wouldst thou join me in mine quest to vanquish the mighty ladybugs?! I see, thou art preoccupied with thine vengeance against the Sahagin. Fare ye well in your endeavors!" Of course, that may just be others thinking I'm mocking rp, when in reality that's just how Talis is IC. You know... odd and happy with a hair-trigger joke button. I dunno. I do love to see rp flourishing though!

Eee! I was on Virtue, too. Owl Girl and Elixir Girl! I took Owl Girl to Champions Online, too, though that was short lived. lol But man, Virtue's RP community was really amazing there for a while. Fun times.

I just found out that Balmung is an RP server.. I think I'm going to be Re-Rolling a new toon for this server (as I enjoy RPing in a Final Fantasy game IMMENSELY). I've been playing very casually on Famfrit getting the mechanics of the game down, but man, the draw of making a RP is just too drawing!!! Plus, I've found that RP server communities are my favorite. In any case, any tips? I've never played on a legacy server and I'm running on PS3...

I'd love to join your lot with my Elf wizard, of whom I have an established backstory and even potentially a brother character if Square Enix and the team release Dark Knight as a job. Unfortunately, creating new avatars is all locked up, both here and on Gilgamesh. I roleplayed in many of my MMO experiences and I am the type who gets fully immersed in the lore.

I wouldn't mind joining up somewhere, at least on an LS as I'm in a FC with one of mine on Balmung. My other one is not part of a FC however, and I can probably whip something up for her to be able to RP with the fine people of Balmung.

I believe Unity is an LGBT-Friendly FC. You might try talking to one of their officers.

I joined Unity here's their site unity-arr.enjin.com They are a pretty fun talkative group if you haven't got a FC yet.
