Mouse Pointer vanishing in Fullscreen Mode

Agreed, this is a ridiculous bug that should have been dealt with in Beta. Please Fix

I am also having this problem. I cannot go into fullscreen mode because the cursor disappears. I am using Vista 64. PLEEEASE fix this asap.

For people having the cinematic on half screen only issue and the problems with audio in cutscenes, this will fix it:

Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates

Find these two Windows Updates: KB 2803821 and KB 2834904 and delete them.

Mouse pointer issues in full screen are usually D3D rendering problems, there are some games that have this same problem and most of them include separate options in the configuration menu to address them. By the way, this problem is also Windows XP SP2, not just Vista. I'll take a look through the config files here in a sec and see if I can find a fix.

Edit: Config file has a couple things that may fix it, however, I'm not sure if manual editing of config through notepad is against ToS or not. If someone can confirm that it isn't, I'll post a couple things to try.

Had to upgrade to Win 8 from Vista to fix this problem. I went from every 10 seconds getting a 2 second lag burst (due to windowed mode) to running without any lag on high settings. Sucks that they won't fix this, but was worth the upgrade for me. Good luck!

Just please post your findings in the cfg. I don't think there's anything there though. I have even tried disabling hardware acceleration using directx sdk with no luck, but I still believe it could be a D3D issue as you have said.

same issue, i would rather not buy windows 8 just for one game.

Glad someone is thinking like this. I was wondering maybe there is still the option to enable hardware cursor built in. Although I really dont think that will fix it. I also have tried installing some windows updates with no luck. Maybe one of them will work eventually. Not sure about the ToS.

Ok since we will never get this issue acknowledged anytime soon, I been playing the game of figuring out how to get vsync to work in windowed mode. To at least have a taste of what fullscreen smooth frame-rates actually looks like. And I actually got vsync to work in windowed mode. This works for me, others can try if they want to or not, I'm just posting my findings. I know its not fullscreen with the mouse cursor but again its windowed vsync 60 fps smooth for me. (the occasional drop here or there, but zero screen tear)

1. Make sure your Vista is in Aero mode all options enabled.
2. Force vsync in your video card control panel
3. Download and run a program called d3doverider and set global to force triple buffering and vsync to "on"
4. Download a program called "Gamers Window Relocator" so its in your taskbar (this program allows windowed games run fullscreen)
5. Start up final fantasy a realm reborn and go into the settings and make sure to use windowed mode (not borderless window mode) and set to your screens native resolution (mine is 1920X1080)
6 Now click Gamers Window Relocator in your task bar and select final fantasy from the drop down game running and click "relocate" this makes your windowed game fullscreen

I know this is BS to do all this, but I am now able to use vsync in my game. This was the only way for me to get vsync to work without losing my cursor in actual fullscreen

Good luck to others if they want to try. I'm a little more at ease until we can get a direct answer on this issue.

edit- oh and I'm playing on JP servers now, zero login issues over there, testing these findings...

I have the same problem. Hopefully this will get fixed soon. My hardware isn't strong enough to run the game in borderless window with good fps.

Have you got an Xbox 360 controller plugged into your PC? mine disappears sometimes as it occasionally tries to use the Xbox controller for menu selections e.t.c

Thanks, Stoy. But that's not causing the problem. The problem is still there with the controller plugged out. Even if I restart the game after removing the controller.
Of course I also have vista.

Still no customer support for this? annoying. I have two major issues with this game. This full screen mallarky and my ISP throttling the bejesus out of my connection, Maybe someones telling me this game isnt for me.

I am also having a problem with this. I'm playing on a pc laptop, and a mac desktop with boot camp. Both OS is Windows Vista. These two computers run the game decently well, about 30 fps in full screen, but drop to about 15 fps in windowed, and much lower in high populated areas like major cities or FATE's. Being able to use my cursor in full screen mode is crucial to me being able to enjoy this game, so please figure out what it is. I've been running the game in windowed mode, but made the game window really small so it can run smoothly.

So I got a reply to my ticket about this situation after 7 days and it looks like there's zero hope in site. I mean it's been an on-going issue since beta 1 and absolutely nothing. Here's the reply I got.....
