devastated about the beta announcment

I am in the same boat as you. Going to Seattle tomorrow for 9 days. I will have an amazing time but I will look to the forums and hope that news of how amazing the game is at the moment is plenty to satisfy my thirst for the game.

You know the first phase of the beta is extremely limited right and it wont be online all the time? It's also still locked to Gridania. The beta isn't really anything special until phase 3 anyway.

:) go enjoy your trip, there will be plenty FFXIV for when you return.

I miss Hawaii soooooo much T.T thats where I met my XI boyfriend back in feb 2006. Flash forward to 1013 and were married and in the cold climate of Canada. lol Oh Hawaii.. how I miss you..

Hope you will not sulk during your holidays because of the Beta, it's just a game + your character won't matter anyway

Seriously dude enjoy your holiday. I'd much rather go on holiday somewhere nice than play any videogame really. (Except for real life - the mmo).

If it makes you feel better my second trip to hawaii to see my at the time XI fiancee was basically sitting on the couch reading anne rice while he played oblivion X.x(keep in mind I was a civilian on a army base and couldn't just go "walking" around) To this day, I still don't let him live that one down. lol

I see a lot of people missed the sarcasm and humor in the OP.

at least you can afford a vacation, I have not had a vacation in over 12 years!

The dates just so happen to coincide with the first phase of beta... (gasp).

At first, I thought I may be able to just post-pone the trip but it seems my wife has grown keen to the idea of leaving the frigid temperatures of North Idaho for the sun soaked sands of Hawaii. She's new to FFXIV so she just doesn't understand, and I was once in her shoes so know how ignorant she is at this time in her adolescent adventurer status.

I'm hoping that those lucky adventurers that happen to have not made plans and make it into the beta can grind twice as hard to cover my lack of being there..

Of course I'm going to enjoy my time on vacation with my wife and my exaggeration in the first post was suppose to be a bit humorous and satirical.

Don't take a post like this and think that I was seriously thinking about postponing a much needed vacation.

Yes I'm upset I wont be able to play before I go, upset enough to make a joke post about it and that's it.

At-least in IRL, the only LAG you'll experience is the TSA. Other than that, the travel & adventure experience should be smooth!

I don't live too far from Seattle (North Idaho). Always fun to drive that direction for a weekend. Check out the "Underground Tour" if you can, it's way sweet.

Not sure if I can really afford it but we had a family friend donate the condo for us so that definitely helps save some gil.

Hoping I wont have to encounter too much handsy-touchy-feely TSA agents. I used to do a lot of one-way trips when I was buying and selling cars and it became a common part of life for me..

Play Beta while in Maui... Best of both worlds.
