I think lal shouldn't be able to increase str/vit/dex through lv up, or stat points, but only from gear. Since they are small, they probably have small brains, and are therefor stupid, and shouldn't be able to increase int or wisdom either...It's commonly known that brain isn't fully developed until after puberty, and since Lals are stuck in child-mode....
But people can still play them, though you'll suck really bad.
You can use them as labor in gathering and crafting; though they'd probably botch all synths and gathers.
Well aside from that, i think Roe should get +2str every level as passive bonus, and highlander +1 maybe.
Miq could get +2dex, elezen +1,,,dunno.
Something like that ^^
It would make a Roe LNC more damage oriented, and a miq lancer more evasion/parry/accuracy; Could make for interesting combos.
I Want +10 on all... Just cuz Miqote Do It Better Everything! ^w^
You can Easily go home ^^ and Thanks for your attention! BB <3
I want race stats too, i'm not happy with Tarutarus having more HP than my Galka. Its not right.
I'd give this a miss. In the newer XI events like Legion Taru HP is absolutely crippling, so much so that they're thinking of rebalancing it altogether.
I WANT TO USE CAPS LOCK SO THE TITLE BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT!
No.
for the 6th time.
there have been 257 arguments in 5 threads against it.
Hey mod, i pay you 50 Crysta if you lock this.
seriously, i do.
just write me a PN.
More like racial penalty. Some of you want this so you can focus on one thing like roe melee and lala blm. I hate to break this news to you but you are encouraged to lvl more then 1 job. Those focusing on one specialized thing like this are a minority in FF and you are hurting more then benefiting by adding racial stats.
Throwing in my big NOOO, to the racial bonus for ARR
I hated it in WOW making me choose races that was best for the certain classes I preferred.
If the "bonuses" is just purely cosmetic or something for fun, I would not mind that as much. But making 1 race clearly better than any other for a class. Big NOO
Someone find a quote from SE and the DEVs where the answer to this is clearly a "NOT GOING TO HAPPEN- SO NO!" answer!
@OP
If you've been following the development of XIV, they're clearly not giving race-specific stats. It's just Race Specific Gear! Races is just for appearances only.
DO your homework because I'm not doing it for you. Get a clue!
I WANT...to know how long this thread will keep going. :D
I always thought the concept of having 2 clans for each race was genius. It would alow each race to have racial specs for each job class, one with larger base mage specs, and one with larger combat race specs. So for example, the red Roe's are better at being mages, while the blue Roe's would be better at being physical jobs. When the concept was first introduced before the launch of 1.0 I thought thats how it would be. But alas, it was nothing close to that really. Bummed me out.
Odd because most MMO's I've seen impliment racials and most people do complain about them being unfair, but the difference is they are actually playing the game and not posting in threads all the time. *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*
As for me, I feel racial abilities are kind of bad route to take.It adds a useless layer of realism to an obviously fantasy based game.
Ex:
Saying a Roe has more hp than a lala and having said lala have more mp may sound like a fair racial trade but it isn't. This is because we must consider the fact they still have to somehow then make the lala hit somewhere as hard as a bigger race, on melee. This makes very little sense because Hyur and Roes threw bigger,if not nearly the same size, tomahawks than the lala main axe. This completely makes the racial trait logic fail because it would be like expecting an ant to lift as much as a forklift.
You know what I want? Racial Music themes
SE already said they're not making race any more than aesthetic along with character creation an design. NO, I repeat, no diversity in stats between races will be implemented. Stats will be influenced through gear and equipment.
That is all. Good day folks! ;)
no thanks, i want to be efficient in any job i level from beginning to end of my mmo gaming in ffxiv. i don't want it like ffxi where my totally pimped out monk is doing less then other monks just cause i'm a frigin lala or taru. no, no and no. what is point of being able to level all things on one class and be punished by stupid shit like this. you want to be different or useful ..do it some other way.
Point allotment works fine.
Do to popular belief ppl are mad about race restrictions but have anyone took into consideration tht ppl do tht with class/jobs anyway. if SE want to make this fair, they need to make it so tht ALL jobs would be desired for all content, not just some. Until such a thing would come to pass there is no reason to knock 1 vs's the other. Hope this is addressed and adjusted in 2.0 (key word is hope).
Aye we know this, but in the same instance why throw something else that would contribute to a gap between races AND jobs as well. That's one of the more appealing things about FFXIV IMO is that it's concepts are simpler and leaves out alot of the benign min/maxing must have bullshit that literally festers and poisons FFXI like the black plague.
I played a hume thief in XI. People would laugh at me because I wasn't a mithra thief.
Never again. Keep that garbage outta here.
Racials do add some flavor to the game and it can be fun. However if you min and max some people will say they are forced to play X race because it gives them 1% more dps or something.
But I think it would be good to have some differences and racial abilities because it adds flavor in the game.
Oh..please SE, do not add race bonus again. I played a hume in FFXI because it was jack of all trades...
In FFXIV I want to be any race without being restricted >.<
I don't mind if bonuses are in or aren't. I'am gonna play whatever race I want anyway. And to top that off, I level capped every job in 11(A lot pre-abyssea) and already have a head start on the same in 14 XD. So if we get race bonuses back, cool, my race will be good at a couple of the jobs I have capped and less so at the rest. Woop dee! If not, I'll still have everything capped XD.
Isn't an idea that makes FFXIV sort of special the fact that you are not restricted to one class like it is in many other games but that you can experience the multitude of different classes?
To add racial bonuses would add class restriction again from behind. That would be a paradox and screwing the whole idea of the initial class system.
Sure, you could be a black mage as a roegadyn but as others have stated before there is the trend to maximise your effective output and/or the trend of being expected to have it maximised, otherwise you are cast out. Which would lead to restricted classes again. Not technically restricted but community-wise.
I have always thought it was more realistic for someone the size of the Hulk to be a bit tougher in a fight than someone the size of a shoebox. But that's just me.
I have always thought it was more realistic that killed monsters remain dead and don't disappear and maggots are crawling out of their flesh after some days.
Racials frequently screw up game balance unless they do nothing at all, or have corresponding answers from other races that "are the same but work differently." I find the necessity for one to be quite ludicrous though, since in the end the race you chose should be more that you enjoy the character design rather than it gives +1 to MP pool. Giving racial bonuses just force people into roles they rather not play simply because they chose a certain race in the beginning.
i do not get the need to have racial bonus especially in stats. We train our body the way we want it to be, and walla, that is something different, but forcing down our throat on a race to be better in certain job is a no-no. Better to just give us customization stats to our own to build as we level than throwing in racial bonuses.
