Cat girls
Bunny girls
furry fetishes
all Greek to me.
Do we really need bunnies? I guess people could start link shells call Playboy Mansion and have nothing but Viera. Beyond that, what would bunny girls bring to this game? We already have tiny kid like race, cat people race, teenage humans, body building humans, super model elf people, and the super awesome Roe. Do we really need another race?
Guess I just don't see the interest in bunny girls.
I want to be a Bangaa!
By the way, don't google the word "Bangaa" for reference pictures. Holy cow.
Now i have to.. and no op i do not want.

Scary, no?
This.
However, back on topic... I'll admit, the Viera tribe as shown in FFXII were great and the quests relating to Fran and Jote were actually very well written (plus their hometown Eruyt was quite stunning in a Gridania kind of way)
But I reckon that since we have yet to see the Mi'qote in their historical environment (which I'm actually curious about) we should wait and see. I think it'll be better if they had their own unique place of origin that was separate from the Viera.
I only read like the first couple sentences, but I've been in support of the "New Tribes" option since the beginning..
Really? This seems strange... if they do that then SE would either have to give the option for EVERYONE playing the game to change to that race, or suffer the moans of thousands of players who won't be able to use it unless they make another character. Frankly, I don't really care, but I know loads of people will.
i either need a Fran NPC in the main storyline or i need to be able to make a Fran of my own. i don't care how it's accomplished. MAKE IT SO.
TBH I don't know if the new race will be happening.. I mean the only people that would be able to take advantage of it are new characters.. It's already been said that after the initial reroll in 2.0 release you won't be able to reroll your character as a different race, and enough people will have a hissy fit if a new race is introduced later and they don't get the chance to reroll their existing characters as that race..
Paid character change...tons of "other" MMO's have been doing this for years. It would be a win/win for SE, they make money and player is happy-ish (some will QQ about price they always do). XI desperately needed this like oh 5 years AGO, lol.
That's the point she was trying to get across; I said that Viera and Miquote shouldn't be the same race because of their physical difference, and she was comparing the idea to the fact that Highlanders and Midlanders are pretty different, even though they're the same race.
No, they should add Viera as its own race if they do Viera, not make it a different miqo'te clan.
Wabbits go in wabbit pie. Wabbits won't bring in new players or keep existing ones, its a waste of time. If they were ready for ARR launch so be it, but otherwise pointless.
Well, I do think the idea of a Miqo'te tribe with longer ears and a shorter tail sounds like an interesting option to provide a rabbit-like option for people who want it. I never really saw the difference between Seeker of the Sun character models and Seeker of the Moon ones, to be honest.
On the one hand, this sounds like it would be a straightforward variant of the race. It might be able to use the same animation skeletons as existing Miqo'te, minus any attachments to the tail bones. Something tells me the animators wouldn't let that happen, though, and would insist on a full set of animation variants to give the race a little more differentiation and "because we can make it look a little bit better, we promise". On the other hand, it would most likely require a new set of most headgear, as everything that tried to fully cover Miqo'te ears would either have to be modified to cover the longer ears of the new tribe or would have to forgo ear covering at all. New meshes would tempt the art team into making all-new variants, rather than trying to shortcut the process by chopping off pieces of existing helmets, filling the seams, and re-exporting the results.
As you might notice, I'm not at all cynical about an art team's capacity to take the long road in exchange for even the smallest differences in quality. But I do like the idea of a Miqo'te variant to fill the request for a Viera-like race.
