What outfit are you logging out in?

Stablemaid's hat, dated pink canvas tunic, dated yellow cotton halfgloves, dated canvas shepherd's slops, and Lady's Clogs. I'm kind of going for a "Girl Next Door" look. Might swap the tunic for a pink canvas doublet vest.

Alternately: Dated black bowman's hat, dated black bowman's tunic, dated black bowyer's bracers, dated black velveteen kecks, dated black toadskin moccasins. Kind of a dark hunter thingy if I go with that one.

... myself and a friend may have spent the last two weeks planning which pieces of dated gear we want to make before the world ends. >.> Let's all be honest, MMOs are half "Let's play dress-up" anyways. Might as well look good, right?

Where is that dev post? I don't know if that applies to everyone or just new players. But since you have to go through character creation all over again in 2.0, the class you log out as in 1.0 probably wo't effect the class you start in 2.0

Well, in the case of what he means, new characters will start off in the city that contains the guild of their chosen starting class. Yoshida said along the lines "A gladiator that starts off in gridania will be lost with nowhere to go, with no one to teach him the ways of the gladiator." Quests will start at your guild and probably be the whole 30hrs of lvl1-15 he was talking about.

They never said anything about existing characters tho. it would be nice to know wether or not we have to log out as a certain class to retain the starting city we want. Just in case tho, I will have my axe equipped prior to oct 31 maint

On a side note, I highly doubt you have to log out as MRD or whatever to get in limsa or ARC for grid. I imagine if that's the new way of choosing your starter city, it will be determined by what you do in character creator. I wonder what city Arcanist will be from? Maybe limsa? I was hoping to start as arcanist to take advantage of that Lv. 1-10/15 starter quest series but if arcanist isn't from gridania, gonna have to pass.

Yea, arcanist guild has been in Limsa since the game was launched. Hope they dont move it, Limsa needs more than one battle guild >.>

well i wasn't thinking about picking out anything special, i'll probably be rocking a t-shirt and jeans like usual. :)

We already have a city where we were "born" and that won't change come 2.0. They aren't rewriting our history.

I'm interested to see the disparity between current/new players regarding the storyline in 2.0 Current players come from the past, so will NPCs in the future remember and address us? How will they handle that for new players, which have never met these NPCs before. Do current characters start 2.0 waking up from their teleportation into the future?

It's all very interesting to me.

I'll likely leave my BLM in my favorite noobie-mage gear, the Ascetic's Halfrobe, Ascetic's Tights and a cute pink hat. She just looks so innocent in all the pink. Once I'm finished exploring the new 2.0 landscape and I'm ready to jump into combat, though, the AF is being equipped and I'm going to set things aflame!!

I'll go out wearing the same outfit I always wear. I'll see if I'll add the eyepatch or not. And will most likely drop my character at the miner guild to enjoy the last days until dalamud falls down.

This, I'm sure. It's always been my favorite outfit. (Well, without the horn. I usually wear goggles or glasses with it. Not that I dislike the horn...)
But since they're changing belt graphics, I'll never actually be able to wear it again... </sigh>

Yeah but remember Yoshida stated that no matter where you log out your character will be moved this to current players ..will the move be tied to your class? i would like an answer on this

Edit: btw we weren't born in the city we picked all 3 CSs at the start show you arriving to the city you pick ..so we don't know where we were born ...we start as passing by adventurers quite different to FFXI

I'm tempted to log out in very simple gear on a low level. That way when I "wake up" in ARR and see new players without pearls I can approach them in a friendly manner and over time show them the neat things that come with playing in an MMO like this. I see this as a HUGE socialization opportunity and way to welcome new players from other servers or to the game in general!
