how does keeping *something* for players who want a challenge result in NOBODY playing the MMO? that doesn't even make sense. it doesn't even detract from the fact that the vast majority of the content is already specifically geared toward casuals. right now the only real challenges in the entire game are rivenroad hard, ifrit extreme and a couple of the relic faction leves. that's it. the rest is cake and can easily be pugged, and people are pugging the 'hard' stuff, too. i don't get your point.
why does it need tuning? relic isn't designed for everyone, much less for everyone to acquire in a short timeframe. the entire point is to give hardcore players something to work toward in the short-to-mid term, and to give midcore and some extremely dedicated casuals something to work for long term. and considering the entirety of the questline can be repeated in a couple days after you knock out your seals, what's the problem?
as far as hamlet, no, it's not difficult. 60k runs themselves are easy. but you can still test your skill. do 150k damage as blm in hyrstmill. do 135k damage as drg in golden bazaar. yes, it's possible. no, it isn't easy. why do you think people care about doing 170 dps on miser's mistress? because the fight is faceroll easy so we give ourselves oru own little challenges to stay busy with in the meantime.
