While it was fun for the first week once I hit 80 and looked around there was nothing to do ><

Troll thread. I'm just gonna leave this here...

I have to disagree with this based on the fact that the MW put in a soft cap on how many people can sell in a city. Right now I had to set up my retainers in LL because there is no room anywhere in the Ul Dah MW. Its a pretty big deal when you dont have an equal opportunity to sell to the biggest market due to limitations like retainers. An AH would allow anybody to sell anything anywhere without having to worry about slapping down a retainer.
What if you got to keep all items snd gear and only your levels were wiped. Gotta relearn anyway. Also I think those if us with multiple 50s run the risk of getting bored and then ruining the game with whining on the forums and ppl who do things based solely on word of mouth won't even try the game for themselves. Should they wipe I say no. If somehow some wild thing happens and they wipe on accident will I quit? Again no because I want to experience 2.0 like a new game.
If ppl want to put 1.0 truly behind them then all we have done in the past should stay there as well.
Just a different way to look at it.
Your datas are out of date

I see, so the Crystal Tower itself is a large scale content. When will this be released?
Y: We are planning at the launch of FFXIV 2.0 There are many players at level 50 so for them I would like this to be the first goal.
Everyone?Quote:
AV and CC are being run to death atm, everyone has full sets of DL rotting on their retainers..
Make a pic with 20 people in full DL set or it never happened
You sure about that, i mean sure sure!! I know don't have even 1 DL item in my inventory.
Depends if you ask the 10k who spent the last 2 years with the game during the rough parts, or the 300k which only sign up for 3 months, and move on like a fart leaving you pants.
It is clear that gear changes are minimal. Some special gear is uncraftable. Some unsellable. Prices are deflated. Item slots change. Market is pretty much the same.
I don't see a problem. BTW Beta will not reveal all. There are many changes between Beta and AAR.
The server problem is real. If not enough people are playing at one time then many things become impossible to do. That could kill the player base. Too much emphasis of multiplayer tasks is a problem now. No one likes to yel for two days in Ul'dah for a party. Right now I can't get anyone to do Caravan. And the last few runs at Atmos had only a few people show up. Who wants to wait 8 hours for the players to come on-line. Yes. Regional servers may kill the game. And Multiple isolated servers is already a problem.
The stink that the wiped players would raise would be large enough to cost them there potential players. Good news tends to move at the speed of molasses in the middle of winter. Bad and particularly juicy news moves at the speed of Goose poop through a greased up tin horn.
its the end of the world!!!!!! the colors......THE COLORS!!!!!!!
There's plenty of people who've been farming AV and CC since it's release and have yet to finish off full DL sets -- Everyone knows even with speed runs DL can be a stingy drop due to the extreme RNG. No one can deny this so I chalk up your post as sarcasm.
Let's not forget Hamlet; Unless you want to spend millions you're at the mercy of RNG as well.
0, there's a reason MLP is only popular with 4chan and hentai sites.
And thus Pinkie has established a new rule of the forums. Players, if you have not acquired a relic weapon you are no longer allowed to post on these boards or discuss in-game issues.
Everyone better adhere to this newly developed rule or the elitists will hunt you down and kill your kittens.
LOUD NOISES!!!!
Just because a post over 40 days ago says it is "planned" doesn't mean it's confirmed. I remember Yoshi saying it wont make release but will come shortly after with an update. It will also be just a few floors, so sadly i see it being half assed like Hamlet is.
Crystal Tower
The Crystal Tower is a popular location from Final Fantasy III, however in A Realm Reborn it will be presented as a new type of raid dungeon that is completely unique in design. Originally in the Final Fantasy III version of the Crystal Tower you could not save your progress, however because this is an MMORPG changes need to be made so it can be enjoyable for all players. At the launch of A Realm Reborn the Crystal Tower will be the first goal for many high level characters, though it may take a long time to complete. The Crystal Tower is broken into phases that are completed individually, and as you progress through each phase you ascend higher and higher into the Tower. As updates are launched for A Realm Reborn, more phases will be added to the Crystal Tower, increasing the height of the tower and adding more challenges.
I know a few Link Shells that have nothing else to do then farm AV CC daily. When i say farm, i don't mean log in for 2 hour and have 3 failed runs and 1 good one. (90% of the outspoken forum trolls)
You would be surprised how many people have DL pieces for classes they don't play because there is nothing else to do.
I could have sworn there was going to be BOTH a market wards, and an actual AH?
Yep, I made it all the way to 70 just moving from zone to zone. I have made 0 friends and I'm just progressing solo. This was week 1, so I have no idea how it is now since I'm on a break from it. I was sold on mmo's at the thought of adventuring side by side with others. I like GW2, so if FFXIV ARR can employ it's quest leveling system and promote comradery, it could be good.
Wait what? Why would you go with an option that sacrifices 10,000 in order to gain 30,000 when an option exists that would allow them to retain the 10,000 and gain 30,000? This makes no sense.
If you're saying that by keeping the 10,000 they would not gain the 30,000 I would enjoy reading the argument.
I'm pretty positive that the Market Wards will function exactly like an AH now in 2.0 and wiping character data? Are you ****ing stupid? They are having new servers which old players won't be able to transfer at the start, but why would they punish the current player base who stuck around and helped pave the way for 2.0? Think before you type unless you are trying to become the next Rokien.
Don't think your opinion is true about the game failing. Like many have said new players will have their own server. MW didn't kill the game. Lack of content did. Someone mention that regional servers will, and I would have to agree with that statement.
Here I think it depends on how large the population gets. A US based server may not be the first choice for a Japanese player or vice versa, but it might be the only choice if the local servers are full. We'll have to see how this plays out over the next year. I think their reasoning is that because you can choose to flag up across multiple servers and play with people outside your region its still a multinational community, but having local servers would provide advantages to the players in those regions. You could actually see Japanese players choose US servers for the simple reason that there will be less competition for content during their own prime time hours.
The Relic weapon quests give me hope that they will be adding content that appeals to people who want content that takes a lot of time and effort to obtain. I see the current weapons as more akin to XI's AF than XI's Relic. Hopefully when we get to the higher level tiers we will start to see game changing items akin to Excalibur and Morrigans. Currently I think the games architecture prevents them from adding instances more like the dynamis areas, so we got small dungeons to hold us over. The fact that they are removing them seems to me an indication that they aren't in line with the type of content they want in 2.0.
Have they confirmed the level cap is still 50 for 2.0?
yeah, at some point after they will raise it, probably not for awhile though. they should of went with at least 1 more new class at launch though for the noobs and all 50's to go level together with.
oh, okay. so what are your options exactly? heart quest. "live event" (basically a heart quest that randomly pops up). story quest (basically a heart quest that involves your storyline). crafting. map completion.
and map completion gives an okay xp boost but the xp/hour compared to the other options is pretty awful. so generally you're stuck... what's the word...
...grinding? lol yep. grinding the same style quest over and over. that's reality, bub. no amount of marketing buzzword hype can change that.
we call this fallacy a false dilemma.
I plan on starting a fresh character because I want to experience ARR from the start. However, I have every intention of keeping my current character so I can help out with higher end shtuff if needed.
I want to be able to answer noob questions down the road (love answering noob questions, even if it's one asked a bajillion times and painfully obvious, because typing is so easy and it typically scores me a 'Thanks!' totally selfish here X3 ), and it would be hard for me to do that if I haven't gone through it from the exact same starting gate as the new players will.
My only concern is whether I'll be able to have my old character, my new character, and a friend I recently got interested in ARR, all on the same server at launch, or not >_>
The downfall of this game will be if SE kowtows to all the whining in the forums. as long as the recognize when to ignore and when to consider fan critique (and i think they are doing a good job so far) then this will be a successful game. they already seem to understand that bringing more elements from other FF's is a good way to go.
If SE's choices cause some of the more vocal and aggressive posters to quit, all the better. i would rather not play with those people anyway.
