My Bard AF and Monk AF cosplay progress :)

The outfits look very good. Fantastic job!

You're doing an amazing job with the costume so far. It's a shame something so cool can't be worn often, lol. I look forward to seeing the monk af!

Seriously, a massive thank you to all of you :D i'm flattered n_n i'll be working more on the monk tomorrow, going to try and get his pants done or at least start on the insignias.

lol the weapons will probably be an afterthought, if i can do them in time for convention, i will do! i'm looking at making them out of a mixture of wire, papier mache(sp?) and this amazing little thing i have called model magic, it's a funny little craft foam made by crayola :D it's really lightweight and extremely pliable, i've made some of the details on my bard out of it so i'm going to try and use that :) (if all else fails i'll make the bow of owls and the dodskin cesti lol cause they're easy XD )

Holy crap Neomarl, thats extremely mean, troll or not, thats going way to far. Dantha says it doesnt bother her but we all know it does! I can't imagine the guts it takes to post pictures of self-cosplay image like that, I could never do it (aside the fact that im talentless when it comes to designing)

On topic, it looks really good so far! I looove the pants, i'd love the same color/style on jeans, and i'd wear them all the time haha

People who feel bad about themselves tend to try to bring others down to their lvl or below so they can feel better about themselves. Could also be the hater doesn't have any talents to make outfits for cosplay and is really jealous. Gj on the outfits OP, keep it up.

Probably with cosplay is majority of the people lack the raw materials to do some intricate designs justice and attention to detail. I am a critical judge when it comes to cosplay outfits because I don't much care for the concept. Only when I see something that blows me away do I often say it is good. Using the materials you have I would say it is sub par, not to slight your artistic ability but that is my 2 cents, though likely to you it ain't even worth that. :)

I would find some extra helping hand (but that's just me). Main-hand could look just as great(if not better) as the uniform. I've gathered branches as a kid and tried to make my own bow & arrows(failed tho). I'm sure you could do it better and make it stand out!

Feh... casual. Real cosplayers do it in darklight. Joking aside, I like the work you've done and glad to see that someone finally did Bard. Now you just need to find 6 more people and then you can form a party and head out to the convention.

Also would people stop quoting Neomari. I have them on ignore so I don't have see the stupid crap they say, then people quote them and I wind up seeing the stupid crap they say.

Really awesome work! If it's one thing I love about art is seeing it evolve and develop into the final piece! :) Really great job on your work. Also, I am glad you don't take the bad comments to heart, because its crap like that which makes me lose faith in most humanity.

Ya our costumes took forever but it's so much fun to have a cosplay partner who kicks your lazy ass (or other way round) ^^

Yaaaaay sewing geekery! I don't do cosplay for myself (yet), but I did make a pretty nice Jedi costume for my husband last year. I specialize in sewing retro/historic clothing (1860s-1960s).

You're doing a great job! I think it's awesome that you're drafting the pattern and everything -- that's something that I want to learn. So far, I've only learned how to alter existing patterns and draft very basic patterns.

And regarding people's bodies, especially women's, how about not body-shaming anyone? Skinny girls, fat girls, everyone in between. No matter what you are, someone will always criticize your body and make you feel like your boobs are too big or too small, your hips are too round or too narrow and boyish, your butt is too flat or protruding. Someone will always tell you that you're just too damn ugly because you don't look like one of the lucky few with awesome genetics or a model in a magazine who has been photoshopped to perfection or a woman in a film who prepared for the role a year in advance with a special diet and a personal trainer or even like a perfect anime character who was f*&%ing drawn that way. Maybe we need to hit the gym or eat a sandwich, maybe there's nothing we can do about it, but it doesn't matter. We are what we are. Like it or not...and if a real body with all its perks and quirks does not meet your standards, then go find some artificial image and fap away.

I have a girl lined up ready to take some photos for us :D it'll probably be the bard (myself) mainly as my partner is pretty camera shy bless him, but i'm sure i can convince him to take one or two for you :D

And i'm beginning to seriously doubt i'll get weapons ready in time for con :( but it doesn't mean i can't get them ready for the next one! I've had it in my head for ages that i'll be doing the ifrit bow, maybe get some fairy lights inside it so it glows :O lol but i'm really not sure about the monk weaps, i may ask momoe (my bf) what his favourite set are as i haven't levelled up my pug yet and see what ones he wants. (i have a feeling he'll want the relic ones and that's gong to be tricky lol) I might tell him i'm going to do the Avengers XD buuuut i'll have a think and let you know :)

Haha steal some house bricks to make Avengers. Only problem is they are PUG only, they're too dumb looking for the cool MNK to wear :p

Make the moogle weapons, with real moogle plushies :D

I've made 2 pairs myself in one day (one for my twinsister and one pair for me)
