I saw what you did there SE! RMT prevention? ah dam its not a aggro mob.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the fact how you only see 1 (or 2?) RMT sitting there now opposed to a few mins ago when there were probably about 15-20 of them there before.
SE is like: "U like gil selling hurr? You can have this!" * Level 78 Fire Elmentals spawn on RMT camp*
XD !@#$ing epic!!
Sucks for the people actually trying to level there though, but I just think of the possibility that SE cleverly, and coincidentally, decided to placed a bunch of high level mobs on top of a highly known RMT camp is just freakin hilarious as hell! LMAO I gotta go check that out and have a good laugh! XP
I still think it should be Bombs from the fire in the sky! ~sight aggro
This has got to be the best thing ever. Thank you, Yoshi-P and team. Thank you.
The elementals themselves are not scent/sense/true sound aggro. I walked right up to one and got no aggro, well within the same radius as a boar or morbol would aggro. As long as people are careful, this isn't too bad.
People have been saying there are high-level elementals in other areas as well. Which areas? I want to see as many aspects of this apocalypse with my own eyes.
RMT: I can speak little english
Me: If you can understand us, GO AWAY.
RMT: Sorry we are just working here
RMT: we making maney
RMT: money
RMT: for you to play better
Another player: Not enough if you have to play 24-7
Another player: Or is it true that you get paid in bowls of rice
RMT: yea
I got that out of them at Cedarwood. Lmfao
UPDATED
for a bowl of rice? O.o
I went to check out the place and see the elementals my self, then I see there are still alot on my server. One RMT was pulling the near by Elementals far away from the others. I did see 2 or 3 die there. Looks like their adaptation to dangerous elements is strong.
It's still possible.
My BF was doing leves there and we both had a good giggle when we saw the RMT group get wiped. Then I watched (from distance) him rage for 5 minutes because he was dying all the time to the elementals but he managed to avoid them and got all his leves done.
It usually meant waiting for the elemental to aggro someone else (usually rmt), quickly getting the leve and then chocoing away like there was fire under your ass XD
its the end of the world so death is everywhere :(
I second this.
Whilst RMT do ruin our economy I'm sure each and everyone of them would rather do something else for a living.
This a serious breach of human rights! Not just something made up in a game or plastered across works of fiction this is a real problem happening to real people in a real country.
Don't make fun of RMT, they didn't choose to do this. The enemy isn't RMT themselves but a poor quality of life in eastern countries which just so happens to contribute to RMT.
It isn't Enix's responsibility to clean up all humanity-based issues but it is clear that this issue is constantly swept under the rug and ignored as if it is okay.
It isn't!
Please report RMTs but for heaven's sake don't harrass them, they're just trying to survive.
I think SE wants to piss off new players, so only the vets are left, and this game dies a quick death, so they can move on to developing games for the Xbox and nintendo players.
GTFO you bleeding heart liberal
These fckn botters are exploiting a system, I suppose you think it's ok for poor people to be drug mules and sell drugs to kids, in orde to feed their families.
I'm so sick and tired of bad people blaming society for making them do bad things in order to survive. And here's something else to think about. For decades now, we have been pouring billions and billions of dollars into countries like Africa. Have the conditions over there improved much ?
I hope your job gets outsourced, so them people in poor countries will be able to feed their kids. While the greedy corporation you work for makes even more profits.
I wonder how much the guy who manages all those botters makes?
What I have, is a problem with your attitude.
You do realize that these BOTs are probably filling up the market wards, making it near impossible for players such as myself to place a retainer in Uldah.
You do realize that you are basically condoning "bad behavior".
You do realize that thanks to outsourcing, and other economic factors many people in NA and europe are suffering a poor quality of life.
I could go on. But I'll let you THINK about what I have posted first. Maybe, you'll THINK before you make your next comment.
I have in no way stated that this behavious is acceptable just that if this behvaiour is to be combated it needs to be hit at the source otherwise the Hydra will just sprout more heads.
I also didn't say anything about the rest of the world because they are not RMTing our game. I am aware it is happening but your point doesn't really hold any weight here.
It seems you're more interested in getting into a fight about who is right or wrong and expressing yourself rather than anything else.
I recommend sitting down with a close friend or family member and talking about how you feel.
I also don't wish to discuss this any further and will only contribute with image macros.
I'll let readers decide for themselves what they think.

Haha! I noticed these yesterday, I was doing some botany leves there and just assumed they were a gift for the gillies :) They're pretty easy to avoid, I didn't have any problems doing my leves though one snuck up on my while I stopped to harvest :P It did look like it was hindering their progress whether or not the group at the gate was getting hit, but I still got to see a couple of them get one shotted so that was fun :P
While this discussion already exist: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...me...?p=739547...
I don't think worrying about RMT and complaining about it will do much difference as you see above, as Rukkirii already replied with what you can call "internal awareness".
RMT can be compared to/and be equivalent to exploiting a market and piracy. Piracy in regards to "virtual property" and profiting from it as if was your own. This is against the ToS and a corporate offense giving SE the rights to lay the Ban-Hammer.
RMT is a verb of all means to trade real currency for virtual services and in-game items. As in FFxi I see SE will have to take action against these RMT business people who willfully exploit these opportunities for profit and soon FFxiv will be free of these "Gillsellers".
The most effective way to take action against these "gillsellers" is to also report website across the web. That's the main reason why SE is considering taking away free trials. or reducing the time length. (correct me if I'm wrong but I hope it reduced to seven days)
Disclosure: This isn't influencing people to link themselves with RMT and paying for their services. It's to bring awareness that they exist and it's as easy as googleing "buy ffxiv gold".
Example: Report- "This URL= <insert RMT website> which I like to report, sell in-game property for real life money. They make it a business off of a product that doesn't belong to them."
@SE community Reps: Which are other more effective ways to report RMT in-game and on the Web? (if any)
"Gill-farmers" as you can call them work for the RMT "Gill-sellers" and are employed as "Cheap-Laborers" which is a real shame really and I feel real bad for them to be working for only a bowl of rice. :(
That's not even enough for workers to progress in the working force and seems to be out of desperation and a terrible economy, oppression and bed government. Westerners have much of the blame for this as well, due to the fact that corporates here find it economic to employ cheap labor for everything else and most of it is from China. So I wouldn't be all that pissed at farmer or SE.
There has to be initiative somewhere else to hit the root of the problem if we want to reduce RMT in Final Fantasy XIV (or XI).
As be aware that most farmers belong to actual players with 3rd party tools. If you see 'them', they probably have signature names. I don't bot myself, and I don't condone BOTing because it's compromising. I'm not really clear on what SE thinks of 3rd party tools like this. Can someone bring this to light and clear it up? Thanks
Okay, I'll agree you shouldn't harrass them. Not for their sake, but because it would be pointless to harrass them as they're going to do what they're doing anyway. But feel pity for them? No, I do not. Sorry, but these people ruin in-game economies with their gold selling and they illegally make money off of someone else's IP. Oh, and let's not forget they've been known to hack and steal accounts to take all their valuable items and sell them off, and then use the account to advertise for more gold selling. Pity for them? Pfft, I don't feel an ounce. Call me cruel or heartless if you must, but I must say kudos to Squeenix for biting them in the butt here, even if they did it inadvertently. As far as I'm concerned, gold sellers can go straight to H-E-double hockey sticks. With gasoline underwear on. :p
Right now there are no elementals near Cedarwood. It's as if they are avoiding the RMT now at the Node. The elementals are on the outside of the surrounding area, though. It's strange. I think the RMTs are luring them away from the Node...
Sorry for being that guy, but Africa isn't a country.
That being said, are we really sure that that "yeah" in the RMT's reply is regarding the bowl of rice? He could be agreeing with the "Not enough if you have to play the game 24-7.". Screenshot doesn't have time stamp, so it's hard to say in how the conversation actually went.
I think they are, I even tried to help, but they kept ending up where the leve mobs spawn, so annoying i kept getting killed just their.. oh well..
Some were really chatty tonight though, talking about some island and dogs almost all the time over and over..
Oh well i love the new mobs SE has given us, I've been having loads of fun with them.
Even more then Atamos! :D
