I'm curious if you know the general opinion on the mobile remake. In English, everyone is shocked at how it seems to fix every issue with combat, QOL, and aesthetics thanks to it's new engine and level of care from Lightspeed verses CBU3.

I knew this was Titanman the moment he posted lmao.
On topic, I still have tons to do in the game to keep me busy, especially Relics.
I'm a casual player that is grinding the content slowly and is playing mainly for the MSQ and doing it again and again with temporary alts from time to time, I have so many content I'm late on that I could play one more year doing only that and still having things to do. I have no money issue so paying monthly isn't a problem for me, I spend more in even more futile entertainement.
I've never been here for the pure gameplay that I think has never been the "strength" of FFXIV, even if I can agree it's even more lacking now than a few years ago.
I was very dissatisfied with the 7.0 and 7.1 MSQ but everything in 7.2 and 7.3 was about doing things I thought was lacking in 7.0 MSQ (mainly about the WoL and its place in the story), and I like the storyline of both raids.
Outside of the quality of the MSQ or the gameplay, I think many MMORPG players have become bulimic. There was never "there is not enough content" talk during BC or WotLK in WoW, even if everything was about doing the same daily and weekly content barely two weeks after a patch and everything was time gated, or grinding things like FFXIV have never known. It's why no new MMO can work, no company will ever be to produce enough content to satisfy players who rush through content as if their lives depended on it, that are now adult, without having an unlimited amount of cash (which nearly no company have, and certainly not Square Enix) like Genshin Impact (cash provided by gatcha that is something that should be illegal for me, so not really a good things in my opinion).
If I recall correctly from Discord, the Chinese are happy... but also worried it won't continue/launch globally due to Tencent not making "enough" money... and I've seen this approach from various people :D Outside of that, it had and probably still has a big botting problem.
It's fun how Yoshida is against necromancer or Garlean glamour as WoL should be "noble" and "good", yet the mobile doesn't give a quack, and you can even buy Gaius glam. What players want (to buy) will be implemented (and monetized).
I stopped the cope and just play SMN now. Even tho it's absolutely bare bones choice it at least feels the closest to a real class like in WoW, not just a choice of if I want to press my buttons circle left to right or the other way around. How they actually gave the OK and added Viper, which is nothing but a literal button-press minigame, is beyond me.
I wouldn't call it "level of care"...more like CBU3 has to actually make the game. The mobile developers don't have to make any new characters, devise any new plots, etc.. They just take what CBU3 already did and port it to mobile. All the development time saved can instead be spent on cosmetics and QOL. To me, it's not a question of "level" of care, but rather what they have to care most about. CBU3 has to care about actually making new things; the Mobile team can focus on the other stuff instead.
At this point, I've long accepted what XIV is and don't have much in the way of expectations it will change in any noteworthy way. That doesn't necessarily mean it should either. I still find fun in it, but play significantly less than I used to.
Put simply, I've reached that point of indifference. I play for a few friends and because I still have some things I like to do. When that changes, I'll unsub.
Yep, that's exactly how I feel too. I know this game isn't going to change, or take risks, or shake itself up, it's.. just going to stay this way until it's maintenance mode is complete. So I just relegated this game to one of my side games now instead of one of my main games, it is what it is.
I don't. It's just cost sunk fallacy.
Will Savage and Ultimate(s) continue to exist?
Yes - Sub
No - Unsub
To be honest... It's not the low quality that bothers me as much as the fact that everything released in this game is just a slightly fresh coat of paint over things they've done well over a decade ago.
There's no sense of wanderlust whatsoever.
i was just thinking about, what even would there be to do when the game is in maintenance mode. i feel like ffxi has many worthwhile grinds that were enjoyable to do and still felt good to achieve. theres not really anything like that worth grinding for in this game.
Wild that someone could just be so proudly wrong with their full chest.
They just put out a new expansion a year ago with 60+ hours of content, plus patches over the next couple years completing the Alliance Raid series, Normal Raid series, Allied Societies, etc.. Someone on here pointed out that DT actually has the most content of any installment since ARR. Just because the release schedule is formulaic doesn't make something "maintenance mode" when they're still regularly releasing new content. Please, please take the time to learn what the phrase you're using actually means.
