Monthly Sub Increase

no, we already pay a monthly sub, plus $2 USD for each additional retainer, plus the cash shop. no just no. they don't really even reinvest the money back into FFXIV.

To be honest I don't even believe this excuse. We started out having larger amounts of content. Bigger raids with (trash mobs) Alex, BcoB, multiple bosses in one fight (Alex), higher amounts of dungeons, battle leves, a relic quest that comes out at expansion start and has layers to it, more complex classes and then every time we get something new something has to be dropped. Even something as stupid as Grand company ranks should've gone up by one each expansion.

• Chocobo races never expanded on
• Companion never expanded on
• Company ranks whenever they remember it exists
• Squadron not expanded on
• Retainers still have the same amount as the start, with the lame excuse of server load being why they can't add more. (yet it would be possible if everyone buys them lol)
• Character creation never expanded on
• Overworld is just a lobby
• Same content release and predictable updates every expansion
• Housing still not fixed

Even the new stuff doesn't appear every expansion and they have to cut/alternate that to add something else. This shouldn't be the case they've had over 10 years, content should be expanded not cut and staff should've been increased over that time.

That's also entirely their fault.
They want people fluent in Japanese when the language used in businesses that breach international market is English, or at least make sure your people cann all communicate if they speak different languages.

The other issue being FFXIV running on DirectX11. DirectX 11 is an API, which was discontinued in January 2013.
In 2025 people, shockingly do not want to work with something like a system that was discontinued over a decade ago.
But that only also shows once again the engine and such need an overhaul or something entirely new.

But they prefer their spaghetti code excuse I guess.

The problem is absolutely money. SE is not part of the 20 best paying game developers in japan. Additionally MMO development is inherently unpopular because it's almost a dead end.

they dropped in quality meaning they can't increase the price, it would be an outrage if the case, if they get back to the pasts developing of content and then adding some more, then I would not mind paying 20 bucks a month.

I remember during Stormblood and Shadowbringers that working for FFXIV was kind of a nightmare. Not only that, but they don't pay that well and require you to live in Tokyo so it's hard to find people to hire.

Lol totally agree. If SE increased the sub, it would be the straw the breaks the camels back for me. The game would have to take some massive change in direction for me to think otherwise.

Excuse me, but I didn't announce that she/he is going on my ignore list, but on someone else's. I thought I would get company, since I am on that list. Doesn't matter anyway, you guys gave me a good laugh.

Don't think it'd make much of a difference at all just some extra money, but I don't think anything would really change in regards to staff adding, faster releases etc

You are missing all the tiers of subs they have for storage. What other game charges for storage like 14? Some people are probably paying double others. I believe it is almost 20 USD for retainers. Which not only come with storage but market board space and a rng loot generator.

With the good old excuse of we can't give you extra retainers as too much information will be loaded at a time BUT everyone can buy them and we've expanded the amount over the years LOL
