Yeah I have no idea why the OP thinks that would happen. Despite both games in a poor state right now.

And on another note it's hilarious that some people here are getting upset at others opinion who are against the idea due to Wilds being in such a bad state. People are 100% entitled to their own opinion, but getting upset at anyone who says your favorite game bad when it actually is bad shows how immature they really are.

I think it's fine if they want to do a collab but I hope this time it's temporary. It's really not right that things like MH and Nier get to stay in the game but actual other Final Fantasy crossovers like XVI are only temporary. The non-Final Fantasy stuff is what should be temporary.

Likely because this collab was being planned for a while. They likely expressed interest in using Omega after the last crossover, or even doing, but because of CS3's own plans it wasn't able to come to fruition.

Only non-Final Fantasy (including other SE titles like Dragonquest) collabs I could think of that were temporary were probably:
*GARO (I don't think I should count that one as it returned during 6.1 after it's removal during 5.1),
*The Yokai Watch Event that didn't come back for a long time after 2017's.
*And the Fall Guys event.

But probably would be less likely temporary, Because of it taking place in the current expansion area Shaaloani. Just like how for Stormblood at the time it was Azim steppe.

Though hoping it's an armor set from the game itself while it isn't present in the trailer similar to the palico minion at the end of World's collab trailer. But probably because it's not made by a smith from their universe.

The 95% ratio of dislikes across every platform for Wilds won't change much though. A steaming hot turd is still a warm pile of crap even if you put some sprinkles on it.

glam's probably just going to be some "turali inspired" nonsense, let's be real. that arkveld set looks way too complicated for xiv's armor design devs and the crap engine this game runs on besides.

This is the same type dooming about FFXIV because a quarter with a patch release didn't make as much money as the same quarter last year with a full expansion release. They'll just say anything at this point and anything counter that is "toxic positivity" or whatever buzzword we're using this week.

*Steam has 274,1k (in all languages) mixed reviews (Not recent negative that's not the total amount of whom has reviewed)
On that platform 128,402 positive reviews and 145,779 negative reviews. (46.9% positive)

And if we take that quote from earlier about most posts being about optimization. Surely you shouldn't have the trouble to bring up the conclusion that the Steam version of Wilds is badly optimized.
