It looks like we keep the TP like in XI, but we only use part of it like in XIV (or Dancer of XI).

nvm finally UI that looked fast ! thats what does matter the most imo, 3x huray.
Btw, gameplay quality is crap so I cant judge the rest cuz there is nothing much to see in this, its promising. Lets see what a HD -any later gameplay trailer - will bring.
Now I am excited >:D
omg is all I can say
its a good day. well done SE
It looks great. But I was kinda expecting it to be a bit more... Dynamic. I mean, it's as stale and the next mmo game so there's not much to complain about.
Ok keep the flood coming please. Like sweep my house away okay. That video was a smaller flood, and it only took my car. I want to be drowning, I want to be screaming for help . Like drown me, submerge my head under water repeatedly, toss my body around.
That Limit Break is totally OTT awesome... lets hope its power is commensurate with the graphics.
Funny, after seeing the low(er) res alphas on the grass in the screenshots, that leaf caught my eye as well. It has to be geometry rather than mapping. (I think this engine prioritizes/optimizes geometry over texture quality)
Things I noticed:
- He moves immediately after using weaponskills. Seems like the animation lock and battle lag in general are greatly reduced. You probably still can't move during the animation itself, but the animations themselves seem sped up a bit and there's no longer a giant pause both before and afterwards, it seems.
- You can zoom the camera out faaaaaaaar. THANK YOU SE. This will help tons for battlefield awareness.
- Jump thankfully looks less ridiculous than the first alpha video we saw of it too.
Very hyped!
I am completely satisfied with everything. Only thing missing for them to show is loot system I think.
Did they just cast meteor on a huge ass dragon?
Exciting. I just wish this was a direct feed and not crappy cell phone... Please SE give us some HD video!
I personally welcome the jump feature. It just makes the game flow so much better. Imagine having to walk all the way around that long fence near that chocobo stable (in the video). It's not the end of the world, but jumping over it makes so much sense. Also chocobo jumping awesome!
ok ppl like you turns wet dream into an nightmare if you hate se so much go play a game from a different company seriously a its on a projector and it was taken probly from an iphone or camcorder but i havent seen those in years mr peach pits n sour grapes are you ever happy
As a dragoon I don't like how Chaos Thrust looks so dull in comparison to what it does now. I hope that there solution to animation lock isn't by having quick and unflashy weapon skills.
Limit break (that meteor thing) was an amazing and surprising addition in my opinion. Because I feel that everything else, like mounts jumping, jump, fluid UI, lush environment, is what FFXIV should have had in the first place. Actually, it's what all MMOs should have when they are released, and it's such a standard.
Showing the limit break is great because it shows FFXIV ARR differentiating itself from the standard, and going above and beyond what was expected.
All the laypeople out there who haven't been following FFXIV will ask this question "What makes it different than other MMO? Showing fluid UI and jumping is not a new and earth shattering idea".
I have to complain, there is just way too much epicness and awesome in this game.
Very well done. We are finally getting some pertinent information that (in general) the current player base can look forward to.
That being said (and this is not a complaint) i would have liked to see a little more of the chocobo system. Surprised by the limit break system and i cant wait to be doing it ^^.
The only thing left for me personally is waiting on info for new jobs/classes. crossing my fingers for a pet job since it won players poll. Would be the icing on the cake if they at least showed a quick pic or something.
Maybe in the first week, you will see rabbits all over town, but this will go away.
Almost all MMOs out there have this feature, and you don't see people jump jump jump jump every 2 seconds in town. Maybe 1 or 2 people, but mostly people just stand there, normally, browsing the AH.
And it's been like this for years and dozens of MMOs, it's not a big problem.
I just hope SE does a re-post of the video so we can see it in better quality.
NEEDSBETTERQUALITY!!!!111!!!!
Even if the video is of very low-quality, I'm impressed by how gorgeous the world looks. I really can't wait to explore it.
Very dumb questions... but I notice that the WHM sill does NOT have the hoodie on.... wasntt this "issue" going to get fixed?
as a dragoon i can't even see anything on my damn screen when someone else is using simian thrash or chaos thrust on a boss-sized mob, and it makes it extremely hard to correctly position myself for side combos wh- OH MY GOD I'M BLIND WAT HAPPAN MY EYES OH GOD MY EYES
anyway, the animation seems sped up and on the surface it seems less flashy- but you have to remember the animations (in the 1.0 client at least) scale to the size of the mob they're hitting. and he chaos thrusted a little squirrel. and then like... a bee or something. soooooo, yeah. hard to tell for sure.
I sort of agree with you. It could be an Ishgardian Fortress that is located elsewhere in the region. My main reason for thinking this is that it doesn't look like it's geographically similar, as Ishgard proper is kind of a tower in a valley, and this is flat on the ground. I understand that the world layout is being changed significantly, but this seems like a stretch to me.
This video has me so excited that I don't want to play 1.x anymore. At all. I need 2.0/ARR right now.
You hear me SE?! RIGHT NOW.
Only thing I want to gripe about is the fluidity of animations. Hopefully it'll get touched up a bit. This is coming from someone who doesn't mind some animation lock when it comes to the uber cool attacks.
Everything else looks great. Wanted to see an in-game Female Roegadyn :(
