Sorry this forum is the X of FFXIV.
This forum is more like the Ultima Thule of the FFXIV community, since everyone is wallowing in their despair and negativity, corrupting every positive thought that graces this place.
And despite what Yoshi P baits with "improved encounter design" or "improved job design", this will never change, because this is a low-cost solution to hook a lot of low-effort players and get reliable revenue from players who don't care about using any brain cells.
It gets really old when I listed valid complaints about DawnTrail & the Low IQ'ers would complain "You're just a transphobe", completely disregarding what I've stated earlier.
Good song that would've been a nice one-off, ruined by having it on repeat whenever you are in the zone.
Equally dumb decision to have Smile included in Dawntrail
Honestly, complaining seems to be the only avenue to get feedback through and with that news of people being WIDELY unsatisfied. At the worse case a lot of people quitting. It's just a sad fact.
"Happy feedback" is for when they actually give something new and exciting.
Lack of communication is still my pet peeve with this company, they enjoy their surprise behind the scenes cover ups way too much. Some transparency would be nice for the future.
Wait you are saying there are threads that don't complain?
Agreed. The full version with the vocal and everything was great mood music when you were finishing up those last quests before the end of EW. Having it play every time you enter the zone is a bit much. The worst part is that the Beast Tribe gathering area has a stripped back instrumental version of the theme that would've been perfectly acceptable as BGM in the zone. It's currently the only area in the game where I do the /bgm command to turn the music off whenever I have to go there, but thankfully my Beast Tribe and Shared FATEs are maxed there so I don't have much call to go back there at all these days.
If this game didn't have so many legitimate issues that most of us would be complaining a lot less.
At times I really struggle to see "improved encounter design" on dungeon bosses. It seems to be they do mech 1, then mech 2, then mech 3, and after that just loop an overlap of the three. Makes them feel very spammy and repetitive.
And certain bosses such as Deadwalk 1 and 2 are just bad. Spirited Charge with a terrible netcode getting you hit even when away from the add, or the spinning tea cups that take up most of the fight. And then it's fun that it got the best third boss for the current endgame dungeons.
If people think that the criticism is gunna die down just cause Square Enix is burying head in sand and trying to force more of the same . . Then they're in for a rude awakening.
I might even unsub, Doesn't mean i'm gunna stop talking about it.
7.2 is just showing they aren't listening, Slop in first half and 7.25 is where all the content people want.
There is no improved encounter design in dungeons... All they did was add 1 unavoidable after a mechanic, so that if you failed that mechanic, then you were almost certainly dead to the unavoidable that follows up unless someone compensated.
Still just as boring, and still just as slow and Netflix inducing as the slop that's been fed to us for the past 8 years.
Job change patch notes come ridiculously late, people are literally only able to not be blindsided by changes based on what gets seen in one frame in a liveletter.
Honestly there's 2, maybe 3 Major things I wanna see.
1. Give us annotations to systems and job changes. I don't expect to hear Yoshi-P's full psychoanalysis on any given topic, but just a quick explanation of What they're intending for a class or for a change, and what other measures they're looking to do if a class continues to displease.
2. Utilize the simplification as new groundwork. it's what we all thought they'd do with the EW Summoner Rework, but sadly they've failed to deliver so far. I don't **begrudge** them wanting to condense down jobs, but then you gotta rebuild using the new foundation. Making Black Mage more Mobile? Then give us more weaves to put into said mobility (maybe something like Titan-Egi's Mountain Buster)
3. A better reward structure for Moogle Tome events. I've been seeing a ton of people use bots in Praetorium just to deal with that horseshit.
By slop you mean the story that made all the influencers hate it so much that the Youtube algorithm made it profitable to the point where people that haven't played in years came back to grift on it? Please.... if 7.0 had a great story the forums would be empty of complaints and you know it.

Shout into the void in general!
And then please post your actual QoL suggestions to the appropriate Gameplay forum.
