What about the ring stats? Any indication as to the limitations? Will creating something OP immediately take you out of the running or will the devs just scale it down appropriately and judge the idea?

They said it will be subject to change by the dev team if it's a winning choice.

drew this at work tonite , not a ring , but the idea of SE letting gamers designe gear is kinda cool. sorry if it looks effed up, did it with a mechanical pencil and three magic markers. But I think it gets the idea across, Im not the best at drawing obviously lol. If I were to name the gear , would call it... cursaiders. Juggling ideas about shield and sward right now, celata I already know what I want to look like, just figuring how im gona pull it off. anyways, will post a ring later , please leave contructive critisim, always looking to improve on ideas. ty

Good question there. Would prolly be hard for a dev to tell us an aprox. time/date. I hope it wont take too long.. im hyped enough allready. XD

Yeah I already designed a ring and sent it in shortly after they started this contest lol, I'm hoping to see results soon. Maybe we'll know soon in September.

Red Wizard Ring!

Description: A ring worn by one who wishes to stand above Mages!

Caster Stats 20 Int 20 Mag Acc 20 Mag Atk

Melee stats 20 Str 20 Dex 20 Piety

Here is my ring, it was quickly drawn but I decided to make a Miqo'te male character in the background while still showing off the ring.

I call the ring, "Summoner's Ring" and the type of gem cut is a Square Crest. I believe it's simple yet has a sense of fashion and elegance to it.

Thanks yours is quite cool, I like the flame design, is it supposed to be crafted out of a gem?

It's rubies that were cut into a flame shape, and outlined and melded with the gold ring.

I don't really care about the color of my ring, I mean cause the way they have rings in x|v now is the stats change depending on the color of the ring. I love Amethyst, so I wanted to make it a purple ring, but it wouldn't have the stats I wanted with the Summoner's Ring, so I'm kinda gonna let the x|v team to do whatever with my ring, if they decide to use my idea.

For those who have already entered, I have a question.

Did you get a confirmation E-Mail so you know they received your entry? I double checked and triple checked to make sure I entered the E-Mail right. Just curious. I'd hate to find out come contest close, that it didn't make it or something @-@.

yupp, I hope it won't take too long but I guess the dev team will take its time to choose the best ones out of hundreds of entries. I wonder how long the community can vote for the 10 best ring designs. :3

nope I didn't get a confirmation mail and I triple checked the e-mail adress too haha ^^
I'm not sure if there is any so all I can do is to hope that they received it xD

Yeah lol. i'm checking my E-mails more frequently than usual. XD

I forgot to activate the "reading confirmation" thingy when i sent it, so at least i would have known if the e-mail was open'd and actually arrived. x_X

So i would like to ask the Dev:

Is it possible to send out E-Mail's to those, who's entry is arrived? E-Mails can dissapear sometimes, so it would suck hard if an Entry didnt arrive.

They didn't send a confirmation e-mail back, I'm so used to having contests reply saying we have received your entry and it's approved just wait until xx.xx.xxxx and we will tell you the results on the site, something like that. Or tell us that we didn't meet the requirements or need more information and to send in something that will fit in their required field. :shrugs: :confused:

Didn't get a confirmation email, but did get a bounce-notification the first time when I made an error in typing the email address.

So if you think you might have got the address wrong, you'll already know if you did.

Thanks, I really appreciate your comment. I just used the tools I had available, if I had more I'd do more detail and such but it was quickly done while the idea was still fresh in my mind. It's a silver ring, but has different shades depending on the area, I wanted the gems to be originally purple, but with the gem system in the game wouldn't have the stats I would want for a White/Black Mage or a Summoner. But yeah, thank you. :D

They had better accept entries for NA up to 11:59pm (PDT). If they don't, it would be an outrage for those who planned around the times they stated and got cheated out of entering.

I don't. For what they've pulled in the past I have a text file on my desktop titled "SE's rules don't matter." I kid you not.

If I was running a contest like this, in response to a foul-up claiming early conclusion I'd tack on a weeklong extension for the affected party.
