Haha no kidding; exactly this. Thank you for the chuckle :D

Yes because personal responsibility is such a bad thing. Heaven forbid people take responsibility for their actions and stop blaming others for one's own mistakes. I'm not without empathy for OP but shit happens and SE doesn't have any legal or moral obligation to fix the mistake created by OP. If SE ran around fixing all the mistakes people make despite agreeing to the terms and agreements, then they would just have to close up shop.
It's this bit right here that is manipulatively false.
People have entire parts of their lives, and social circles invested in this game.
People that if they are separated from ... it hurts.
Hell people meet and marry IRL through this game. Fme no moral obligation...
They wait 2 years for the next expansion.
They wait that long to plan out their hopes and ambitions for it.
They often have 100s and 100s and 100s invested in getting to that point.
They may even have travelled across country or even round the world to meet the people they play with.
It is BAD DESIGN, BROKEN DESIGN, if the game can't protect itself from abuse while allowing mistakes to be corrected.
The whole mog station is just awful and transfer is NO
exception.
Absolutely they have moral Fing obligation, to be compassionate and honour the small cost of addressing this for the real feeling person in question.
What glib flippant garbage "no moral obligation". There is always a moral consideration, matters of mortality are always about duty. Duty is obligation.
I have no idea if this is a cultural thing. Perhaps the concept of "Duty of Care" not exist where they are from. It may not, some cultures profoundly scorn social welfare.

If this ever happened to me, I would definitely use it as a learning lesson to always double or triple check everything when making important decisions. Sorry you had to learn through the school of hard knocks, OP
It's lovely to see how many humans just don't care, except to make sure that the person takes to heart how much everything is entirely their own fault.
It's just a shame that karma is nothing more than BS superstition.
SE support reminds me of "the place that sends you mad" from "the twelve tasks of Asterix". How hard can it be to just move his character back to the old server? Just do it.
SE support is notorious for being unhelpful to non-jp customers since ff11. At least they didn't put on the smile song during the phone wait to spite you.
Oh my Fing word the arrogance and conceit. You might just be trolling but there are people that really think like that. It would be that attitude that shows immaturity. Eventually you realise that 'people' as in 'humans' and their faults, won't ever change except over evolutionary timescales.
You have to work with what you have often in life
There are all sorts of things you can change (software and UI is what we are taking about) is a trivial to change on the scale of the universes challenges.
But people you can't.
It is not the job of square enix to teach people maturity by breaking their knee caps when they make a mistake.
It is square enixs job to a greater or where necessary lesser degree, to seek to kiss the customers arse, so that we keep giving them our money. Make us happy dare I say it
I remember there was a time that people thought that was what distinguished XIV SQX from WoW Blizzard.
The concern is not just for this user. But for all future users
I'm not going to respond again to you as either you are trolling me, or you are (for now at least) irredeemably lacking in insight. (Dare I say it 'maturity'). Ie your not going to profoundly change your point of view any more than I am.
This is just like the attitude I can across recently from ultimate raiders.
"You don't need more casual content"
"you still have hardcore content you haven't done."
"You just have to get good like me"
"You just have to learn to value the things I value"
"You need to change, because changing software is not an option"
Fme
I think my concern is SQX are ignoring all this because they've seen all these old arguments before and they came and went then and they'll go way again this time. They might be right. They might not be though and some if those earlier dismissals were perhaps also a mistake.
This is ridicolous. If SE had any moral obligation to their customers, it would be fulfilled with them preemptively putting multiple confirmation checks that allow a customer to review their decisions, and stop without any sort of penalty. If the customers cares less about reading thoroughly than SE cared when they put those checks in place, on the customer's head be it.
But SE has no such moral obligation to anyone because this is a videogame, not a life or death situation for which your duty to care thing would apply, and if a customer has a shittier experience as a result of their own hurried mistakes when SE has already tried everything to prevent it from happening, then the customer will live, and play another game as Yoshi'p always intended, praise Yoshi'p. If this has ruined their second life which is realer then their first life, well then, this was never the way SE intended us to play. If the customer cares about it this much... Then they shouldalso care enough to read the warnings.
SE does have an obligation though, to themselves, and to us as well: an obligation to not run their resources and manpower ragged running after people asking for take-backsies willy nilly. Do you really think the 90 days cooldown is to prevent market board abuse in a game where we get handed infinite gil forever? It's so people actually put a lot of thought into what they do, which they would stop doing if they always had support at their beck and call.
My one mistake in a video game makes me less of a mature and responsible adult? Does that mean you spending time being a prick on a random forum board for a game makes you even less of one?
Makes me wonder how perfect you are outside of this forum post; are you projecting your own failures upon me?
If an accidental character transfer does not happen very often then the SQEX support may not have any standard procedures to reverse it. Many companies do not optimize for very rare cases. And if it would be easy to reverse it then it could be abused by the players. They have sometimes some regional giveaways like the pizza eating emote. If it would be easy to make a transfer reversible then many players could transfer to a certain DC, get the emote and then ask the support for a return ticket to the original DC. And if thousands of people would do this then it could easily overhelm the support. It is not always a good idea to offer everything to the players.
Cheers
Begging = making a forum post in effort to see if I can turn 90 days into only a couple days just in case? OK guy.
The adult/mature thing to do would be to try and not give up, but apparently you're a sad, projecting little quitter with a sub-par life to the point you find joy and comfort down-playing random people you don't know on the internet in a video game forum. How courageous and mature of you.
Nerd raging aside, this topic in this subforum is probably the worst possible place to get people who could help you to notice and read it. It's such a cesspool of trolling and alts that even if a GM would be reading it they'd probably think you're making this up for the lols. You'd have more luck putting SE on blast on twitter than asking for help here.
Casual doesn't automatically mean you can't be decent at the game, some of my friends don't touch above Alliance raids and are really good at their jobs and the game in general.
Please stop this nonsense.
Being a casual is fine, you can be good at the game while only being a casual player who does alliance raids or whatever as their endgame.
Being good at the game does NOT mean you need to clear ultimates and savages.
Being good means you're able to perform well in the level of content you do, and know your main jobs well enough to complete said content.
Not sure what might have been misunderstood but I agree with not 99% of what you say but 100%.
Casual is about the level of commitment required, not the level of skill. Getting up to the standard required to match Extremes PF descriptions for example takes a lot of commitment. (Guides, clearing to a level, practicing to you can guarantee that level because god forbid it takes you a couple of runs to remember)
Change that PF culture, and extemes can become casual content tomorrow.
And to be clear changing PF culture is NOT the job of people themselves to change. PF system has been around ages, what we have now is the equilibrium behaviour for EU cultures, Vs NA cultures, Vs JP cultures.
Changing PF culture requires changing the PF tools, changing the instance incentives ( eg moving into Duty Finder, adding more nuanced matchmaking options like clear phase 1 , clear phase 2 etc, offering rewards for not bailing after the first wipe)
As some one who has dealt with customer service from se since 1.0, for what its worth, you have my sympathy. God speed wol.
I hope the time passes for you as easily as it can. It's never fun to have to make yourself vulnerable to the public in admitting a mistake to have others try and bring you down for it.
Apologies. I meant to say, 'explaining' a mistake. Since you are guilty of nothing and mistakes happen.
Truth be told I'm plenty bitter negative and at times nasty [short fuse really] (I'm in a bad mood about not being able to be happy subbing).
I don't know why we can't hope for better.
I just don't think SQX needs us to defend them. We are not attacking (mostly). We are criticising and asking for better. You don't ask you don't get.
I will never understand that mindset (and you see it everywhere) that seems to so 'hate' anyone who dares to say "this could be better". And it's usually the all powerful power monopoly they are defending from the impotent little guy. Like turkeys voting for Christmas. The mind boggles.
If the world had been run their way women still wouldn't have the vote and most of us would still be slaves and fuedal serfs to our overlords.
They enjoy the rewards all around them of a world made better, but shit on anyone who would do the same for tomorrow. I can't understand it.
The devs are obviously strapped for resources. All we can can do ask and let them prioritise.
"If you think customers should own up to their own mistakes then you must support feudalism and the disenfranchisement of women"
That's a hell of a take, Gurgeh. A hell of a take.
Ah, I can see why you could make this mistake. The names are quite similar. You have my sympathies. Hopefully a GM help you transfer to Dynamis until Aether opens up again. At the very least you will be able to DC travel to your old home.
Congested worlds should really be listed and greyed out so people don't make this mistake.
Putting this here for visibility for any SE employees that may catch this. Thank you.

You should probably remove that.
