They did burn all jobs down to the ground and reworked them entirely with the whole battle system for pvp in less than one expansion.
But asking for the same for pve is somehow a clown request, got it.
I think almost any suggestion is an improvement over what we currently have. FF14 is long due to a massive overhaul.
I will just aim for the core. Update/ rebuild a better game engine to support ff14 in future endeavors.
Because the game's out of touch with the players feedback
Make the "update gear set" button also update portrait.
This one is unrealistic and way easier said than done because 1 - I don't work in the XIV team and dunno how they really work and 2 - I'm not a manager, but here I go :
Find a way to make the content pipeline more responsive.
The reason why people feel like their feedback aren't heard anymore / not enough is because a lot of stuff is set in stone way before it even gets the chance to have feedback. We know that they plan out everything way in advance, but that's the reason why when they tell us they hear our feedback, it gets implemented a year and a half later, because going back and applying said feedback to "soon" to be released content disrupts the workflow of the team and could create a lot, lot more trouble. Developping an MMO of such a scale makes it inherently less flexible, especially the more type of content you want to add it in, and even more especially when your actual team doesn't really grow in size (as Yoshida is telling us since at least Stormblood). And let's be fair, XIV has an overall steady and quick patch cycle for such a game without making the devs crunch away their lives at all times. And while you can't magically speed up the time for a Field Operation to release in 7.1, there are other things you should be able to adress feedback on that doesn't take 3 major patches.
A whole new dev team, this one's clearly cooked and uninspired to make anything new and exciting.
I would love to be able to strafe/backpedal while using legacy controls on my controller.
A Tab target system that works in PVP.
don't care how they gonna do it, but I would love for 90% of my active playing experience NOT happen inside an instance.
I’d modify this slightly, since I do enjoy game lore and cutscenes and would actually like to see more of them, with more voice acting.
So I would say “less cutscenes that could have been action/duties.” Without going heavy into spoilers, I’m thinking of things like the train scene in DT that would’ve been much more fun to play through than just watch.
This is the one that gets my vote.
My character has leveled all classes to 100 now. She has all these clothes in her dresser, it’s not breaking immersion to say that she might want to mix & match certain pieces. Add to that, the NPCs get to do it all the time, and it’s already been done in the past for older gear sets. If it must be restricted at all, let it only apply to whatever the current expansion is to keep people grinding for certain sets (not that glamour lovers wouldn’t already do it just for the glam anyways!). But ideally, there wouldn’t be any restrictions at all.
Like you say, the role group often leaves out specific jobs within it. My DNC should be able to wear flowy, pretty things and not be dressed up like a cowboy most of the time. PCT should have more options for an artsy look beyond their AF gear, because the majority of casting role gear isn’t giving that.
And for those that pull up the Yoshi P comment about “black mages wearing armor,” I submit to you the EW tome gear, Radiant and Crenendum! (Not to mention the Law’s order casting set, or pvp all classes armor, etc, etc…)
Makes open world great again
I want some of the profits earned by FF14 to be reinvested in FF14.
remove all healing from none healer job
