Buying an EX Mount for 99 totems right away instead of waiting 8 months...

I don't mind waiting for the mount. It is surely rng and some people are lucky and some are not, maybe you won't get the mount easily now but a few more extremes later you will win the first drop you see.
If they would let us buy the mount right now the content would die very early. Like imagine most people who does extreme farm the 99 totems out in 1 month and later parties wouldn't fill.
People like to farm extremes like madmans early on (including myself), but later doing a few runs a day trying to keep our hope is a good thing in my opinion.

I think if someone has helped fill PF for 99 runs of a single duty then they have earned the right to get an item and bail. It's not very player friendly to demand they keep coming back to get something they really like and watch others get it based on pure RNG while they consistently and constantly do the hard yards.

I've seen the mount twice and rolled a 22 & 23. The two winners rolled high 90's so no chance in hell. At least the first mount drop went to a guy who was helping us clear a blind run so he earned it with good karma so I'm not too mad about it.

Slightly edited your comment, but that's what it feels like at this point. We're nowhere near the early glory days when they were throwing stuff at the wall to see what stuck, ripping all the best parts out of other MMOs so that 1.0 became a distant memory. They haven't innovated for years, and even the crap they do borrow from other MMOs are the worst versions possible. The new blacklist system is honestly one of the best examples I've ever seen. It was absolutely useless for a decade, and they STILL haven't actually managed to make it reach the standards of other MMOs. The fact that you can get into an instance with someone you blacklisted is an absolute joke.

I'm 30 totems in and I have never even seen the mount drop for anyone, I know its the "prestige of getting that rare mount", but after while it does feel boring , I already start to feel like i don't care anymore... Like the initial fun of learning the fight ,having mechanics dow perfectly and being excited for the drop only lasts so long, after a while its just tedious, and grinding out 99 tokens to get the mount who knows when... literally kills every excitement for it. And ppl who grind out the tokens still get it eventually, so why is this artificial time period induced on players? We already sunk in many hours of grinding it out, what difference does it make ?

Speaking of farming why are we getting 1 totem per clear? Fights like Hades EX you get 2 per and same with "cutscene" fights but why isn't it 2 by default? At least then I'd be like "cool I ran it 50 times I got my 99 totems" it doesn't solve the issue but at least I don't have to run it another 50 times.

I know they wanna stretch game time by allowing you to farm as much as you want but when you see people get lucky after their early clears but it doesn't make it less miserable, yes I know no one's forcing me to do it but I'd at least want the game to respect people's time and my own instead of waiting months to a year to buy a mount that will get its drop rate buffed anyway.

They've done this since Shadowbringers if I remember correctly.
The first two trials always just gave you one totem, while the third and the ones after it started to give two. Trial 1 and 2 in Endwalker did this too, which especially made farming Zodiark a real pain...such a boring fight.. x.x

I personally think it sucks, too. Like...I farmed this boss like crazy, got really unlucky and now I have to wait 8 months until I get my reward so that feels like rubbing salt in the wound. I thinks it's fine for the droprate to get higher after a while, sure. But I don't understand the long waiting time before you can exchange your totems...makes no sense to me.

There are probably people who did farm 300 totems and no win, but those people are still going back with the hope getting a high roll if they are that desperate...
Also people are buying mounts in pf for like 2m/person. If somebody wants to get it, they can pay a small price for it.
And please understand the weapons are rewards too and sometimes people buy it from totems because people can't differentiate between greed and need.
The problem is not the system, we are the problem. We always have problem with everything and if they change something... well, the problem is the new change.

I'd really like the mount added to the vendor immediately. I really don't mind having to farm 99 tokens since the drop rate seems so terribly awful, but then having a useless currency rotting in my bags for months at a time feels more than kinda bad. Needless to say, I have long since won all the accessories.

Just got my 99 totems here from extreme 2, seen the mount drop a total of 5 times. Working on Extreme 1 now and at 38 totems currently, the mount really should just be available to buy once savage hits, not this horrendously long waiting time period of like 2 patches cycles.

I feel like there would be some monkey paw type stuff happen if SE threw players a bone with stuff like this.

I haven't done a current tier EX raid because the idea of doing it 99 times potentially makes me want to jump off a bridge. If they reduced the totem count to like ~50 I'd consider doing it.

Update from me. I won the mount! I saw it drop five times in my pug groups and on the 91st kill I rolled an 81.

Again though, I still feel the time between when the fight is released to when the mount is added to the vendor is not only pointless but insulting. Can anyone who has farmed 99 tokens be said to have not earned the right to it? Yet the person who rng favored, has? Why punish those with poor luck/rolls? Sure, making the mount have a low drop rate keeps players coming to try their luck, but so does immediately adding the mount to the vendor for those willing to knock out 99 kills.

On a side note, it would also be nice if they added a totem dump for poor fools like me that accumulated over 90 totems before winning the mount with a good roll. Like a housing item or the barding material or even the song from the fight.

Crazy how I do 99 clears and I'm told I don't deserve the mount. Apparently doing 99 clears on patch when the content is at its hardest is underserving of the mount.

Can you tell me why doing 99 clears today, not getting the mount, proceeding to never log back in for 6 months, and then logging back in on the patch they add it in suddenly means I deserve to have the mount? Why does waiting suddenly make me deserving when I literally cleared it 99 TIMES and gave up 13.2 hours of my life minus pf queue, progging, and wiping?

Thanks! By far my favorite style of mount they've added. Wings of our own instead of riding something crazy. Those mounts where you're holding on like a bug are just too unappealing to me.

And my rolls at that moment were 1, 16, 1, 3, 47. And how can you get anything with these rolls? For example, my friend did: 38r EX1 - got a mount. And 16r EX2 - got a mount.

sometimes i feel like in the back the code works like if player_deathcount=>3 then set roll between 1 and 50
this game punishes good people and dont you dare to stop doing this content and proceed to another one. While its obsolute in 8 months and each 123 spammer can get the mount with ease
or buy it with totems. For me as someone who do the content on release it feels lika a self torture so i am masochistic i guess... Sad part is nothing will change.

The people defending this system sound like gambling addicts fr. Go play any of the hundreds of mobile gacha games out there if you want the "~prestige~" of having a rare thing drop via pure RNG.

If someone put in the time and effort to run a battle 99 times, like I had to do for Zodiark (the only EW EX mount I have because I didn't have the heart to do that all over again for the rest of the expansion) then just give us the mount.

"But my rare thing I got for getting a big number won't be as rare! And having a rare thing that all these other people don't have makes me feel superior to them, and I like that feeling!" I don't care. There are lots of rare mounts in this game that take actually dedication to get that you can show off with. "I rolled some dice and got a big number" isn't impressive or prestigious. Like all this does is make me NOT want to run these fights when they're current and help populate PF because it feels like a waste of my time. Which is a shame, because I like doing the fights when they're current content for the challenge, but I'm not going to dedicate that much time if I can't even get something nice at the end of the road.

But the most offensive thing is that the developers will not listen to us, and nothing will change. And everything will be as it is now. A guy who killed less than 10 times with a mount and does not walk more than PF and those people who are trying to make 99 with the hope of still getting a mount and that 0.5% of players who will walk more than 99 times to see each time how a player who lay face down on the floor and made less than 20 runs takes the mount from under his nose (and then this person once again falls into despondency and leaves the game)

topic is going for such a long time that i just think its bait. Like if we do it like this they will supp back in X months just for the mount. I was denying this for a long time now but nowdays the game just proves that the good years couldve been pink glasses...
