Jumping on dead players

It's always that one guy that, "thinks," he's done something when in fact it takes 6 ppl to bring you down...like he done something....

Had someone do that to me in a dungeon once. Got me intentionally killed too. I was DPS he was tank

OMG exactly! A few weeks ago, there was one guy who had a stupid vendetta against an FC friend I was playing with because he had disagred with what my friend had said in alliance chat. He would chase him all over the map, and then started doing the same thing to me once he realized we were playing together. I'd never even heard of this person before that day. He spent the whole of multiple matches chasing us all over, and I got fed up with it, so after we killed him for like the 4th or 5th time, I laugh emoted at his body. He then turned around and sent my FC leader a message to tell on us. It was the most pathetic, childish bullshit I've ever encountered in a Frontlines match.

Then shortly after we got stuck with him in our same alliance and he started marking us as targets to ignore. Mind you, he had instigated the entire thing.

I like to jump on the corpses of SAMs who let me bait them into trying for the Zantetsuken one shot, only to end up not killing me due to my shield, swarmed by the rest of my team, and dead.

Soo..

A little over a month ago. CC match. I’m on blm, Sharlayan map, nuking people. I get clumsy, low hped, but manage to back away. Next thing I know, lala Sam comes outta nowhere as I’m trying to heal, finishes me off low hp. Annoying, but is what it is. For whaaaaatever reason, said Sam starts to do the Manderville on me. Ooookay. Alright. I’m looking for him actively now, and notice he’s hanging at the back of his group, sniping, then slipping out. Cautious. A few nukes on him and he runs away immediately. Match continues. I get low hped, and there he is again. This time, he does the cheer jump emote. Fine.

Few matches later, were in the volcanic stage, me on pld, and he pops on other team. Right off the back, I 1-mark him, then cut around the rear path to hit from behind. Team actually listens to the mark and targets him on the initial attack. He retreats back at low hp behind group…aaaaaand who’s waiting for him? Aaaaah yeah. Shield bash, finish off, yellow paint broom, then I dog him the rest of the match, getting 2 more kills.

After the match, I’m immediately sent 2 tells…and cussed out. I’m going to state this plainly. For a degenerate like me, those tells were more gratifying than…you know (hi Mr. Mod!) I’m not a decent person, not a team player, so you can shame me for not putting the team first. But there is nothing…nothing…NOTHING more soul searchingly satisfying from getting revenge on t-baggers. (this is also why I love CC so much, because unlike in FL, 4 teammates in CC is no where near enough to keep you safe when you t-bag lolol)

Well, after they banned chat, and banned those funny consumables like fireworks etc. maybe they will ban emotes next. It would be a sad day, as I emote often during PvP. Which makes the game more fun for me, but also for my opponent, when e.g. my team is so bad that I prefer roleplaying and gpose than playing the game.

They are celebrating that you didn't press a button at a particular point, akin to celebrating you causing a raid to wipe because you missed a tiny bit of dps or something.

Tell me you don’t actually pvp without telling me you don’t actually pvp. FL doesn’t count. Try ranked, get to crystal and then tell me it’s not skill based.

Yes, it is semi-RNG depending on team composition.

Yes, it is semi-RNG in casual in who you get grouped with on your team.

FFXIV PVP (CC - which stands for Crystalline Conflict in this scenario) is not like CS or starcraft or w/e. It’s closer to Overwatch. It’s a team game. Yes, tanks matter. Yes, healers/supports matters. Yes, good carries (most of the dps job) matter. You don’t 1v1 a carry as a support in duels. Duels are not a gauge of how CC actually is or even FL for that matter.

Sure, the mode does have its flaws but none of the flaws you wrote simply because you don’t know how to play.

Also, you don’t quantify who has the most kills in CC. As you said, anyone can last hit. You look at all the stats at the end of the game but mainly dmg done. That’s the person who contributed the most to securing kills. And if you think it’s just button mashing, you clearly have no clue what you’re doing whatsoever.

I just came out of a Frontline where there is one player deliberately telling entire Alliance not to use emote on dead body and saying it is against the policy.
Yet when match end, this guy's performance is 2-2 on a dps job and total damage output is below average by 25% margin.
Talking about the irony

I am not so sure why people spread myth about people get banned for using emote on Frontline when there is literally no evidence GM will do that
It is just merely people spit statement on this forum with no way for anyone to verify it is true or not. (Deadpoll's educational wish?)

I highly doubt GM will enforce every report.
Even that is the case, I thought now is widely accepted between veterans that to use potion on the body you knock out (even you are full HP) is and as tea bagging or victory claim.

So there you have it, if they are alive, it is fair game. A little provocation to make them overextend and attack your side. If your skills become meaningless and useless, you have to fight with other tools at your disposal lol

i would rather hyur kick my enemy.
But i have no time to do that. Every second i am disrespecting (OH THE HORRORS!!!!!) my enemy i am wasting time doing things or geting myself exposed to other people who were more skillfull than to get samurai 1 shot by me. Those noobs >.<
P.S. Someone promised to report me for using broom emore on their dead body after a DT dungeon even though i gave them advice and told that this fight is not a cakewalk and told them GG. Some people cat take anything these days.

But where I draw the line is what I saw one Miqote or Au Ra do once, which is the act of 'teabagging'.
That's something that came later in the 2005's+ and I've always thought of it as extremely immature behavior.

I try to kill that person with a vengeance but unfortunately, the way PvP is in XIV it's damn near impossible to kill someone in 1v1 if the other one doesn't want to.

So it's best to just let the bad feelings run away and focus with your team.
If you're lucky, you'll get your revenge by slaying them soon enough.

If it was up to me squatting or sweeping be the better choice over jumping on you XD

Definitely don't see the difference between jumping and squatting. They're both BMing. They both have that intention with getting the losing player angry which is why the emote rule is there in the first place. It's a mental distraction. The sooner folks realize this and stop having reactions to this the sooner BMing can die. If the devs decides to remove emoting in general and jumping that's letting those few players know that what they're doing is working, and they're going to cook and come up with something new. It can running around your fallen body, or, as someone has mentioned earlier, it could be using the current elixir potion that we have. Either way, if your solution to fighting BM is rule changes it's going to be an eternal war.

Bruh if some tea bags me or jumps on me pvp i wouldn't care. Its pvp u might as well report the person for killing you at that point....i bet u guys report ppl for killing u on cod and other games cause killing you is considered bming in your eyes XD

XD this is what happens when ppl who never play completive games play something like pvp they get offended so easily it bores the experience. Next thing ppl gonna do report ppl for being battle high V.

I got to call a spade a spade. I can't call a spade a heart or a club lol. It's BMing in my book. Otherwise, the devs would not be reenforcing the emote rule every expansion. (There was a thread between 5.0 and 5.1 where the conversation of squatting blew up, but I cannot find it for whatever reason. I'm praying that I'm just blind, and the devs did not delete it.) Not my call. Blame the community for this.

If you say it's fun at the end of the day I'll gladly drop the topic, and we can agree to disagree. If this isn't satisfactory enough, there's always invading your frontline games (assuming I'm willing to give the casuals another chance) and settling it there xD

I don't mind emote but I can ensure you it is not a "tactic" lol, sugar coating it won't change the fact
I used to play on PSN and i have like 10 pages long of PSN message from people that I killed (I still kept them for trophy) but they can't kill me back.
