I think people will be going on strike if they don't buff it by the time savage releases because it's already pre-emptively math'd out to be the weakest caster DPS by a significant margin.

Turns out they can't balance things properly even with as few skills as DT added.

Caster job based around summoning primals, primals that have conveniently established one for each element early into the story: cannot use all 6 elements, take one more Bahamut.

Caster job based around welding both black and white magic, which collectively includes all 6 elements: cannot use all 6 elements, take Jolt 3.

Caster job that's based around paint: can use all 6 elements.

Tbh I am kind of sick of how the devs/yoshi and se are treating summoner fans not just in ff14 but ff7 remake and others as well anymore... and in 14 are summoner moves that WE SHOULD HAVE are in blue mage, and our pet theme is being given all over the place instend of them putting the work into summoner pets LIKE THEY SHOULD, the blue mage abilitys from primal fights need to be removed from blue and given to smn honestly. They can keep mog kings pom heal cuz his not really a primal but still...


Pre EW summoner was not SUMMONER it has been a proplem for years and years, EW fixed smn honestly and they choice to not take that point and build up to making it revolve around primal summoning


What they should do is introduce geomancer as a dot mage .. so instead of ruining what smn is again

When I saw the big reveal with the re-imagined Bahamut I was like, "Welp, that's the best they could do XD". Otherwise, the spells look interesting.

They gutted the pet system that Summoner originally had but still keep some elements of it through the really janky egi/carbuncle attack instead of just recreating lore and jobclass reason for being able to summon an "echo" or something of the primal. Has the job quest where you would've needed Titan egi to tank that dark ifrit egi ever gotten fixed or is that still an issue because of things? If it hasn't been fixed, just rework and change things because it's going to be broken and causing players to get stuck and unable to progress unless they fork over $25 USD to level the job to current content.

The job was converted into something that is a mock imitation, a dollar store variant of FF16's aether imbuing and using for a period of time. It's a cool concept, but is severely limited in scope. Instead of a new or different summoner cycle, extra complexity, or the like, SMN instead has an unspoken Sunny D collaboration.

Ninja shows through mudras combining inputs to pull off different attacks. The new pictomancer is going to show combining parts in its job gauge and rotation to add up to something bigger; which could be used as inspiration or something to give SMN not only more complexity, but an avenue that could be worked and developed on to allow the other primals to be utilized. Something that for some reason Creative Business Unit III is severely allergic to giving the other primals over. to SMN. And for that matter, it's past time to split SCH and SMN away from eachother. They play too differently from eachother.

There really is no need to decouple SMN and SCH from ACN. SE needs to realize that the pets are necessary and that they should have worked on improving it, rather than ditching it. Haters be damned. The job started as such and should be retained.

All pet-related actions and abilities should be fleshed out as ACN and just let SMN and SCH expand to it as each role see fit.

One of my FC mates would absolutely be on board, but i think she and her husband are playing DnD right now.

So i'll show my support in her stead.

No that wasnt a summoner pre endwalker that was just the devs being wow fanboys wanting a warlock in final fantasy. Endwalker gave us a real summoner we just need everyone of the primals we have and primal move sets now

I wish they would bring the pets back for SMN, but Creative Business Unit III has a very choppy vision that combines the one and done big flashy attack that some were clambering about mixed with a loose structure of FF16. I know I've said before, but we're likely going to see the return of pets in BST. And if they ever make an unlimited version, we'll probably see it in PPT where the weapon/secondary is the puppet that acts like a pet.

But even though the dev team seem committed to having SMN go down this road, it's a very mismanaged and poorly built road of cheap asphalt and loaded promises that 4-5 years to look forward to maybe something.

SMN starting dawntrail only has:
Carbuncle, Ifrit, Garuda, Titan, Phoenix, Bahamut, Sunny D Bahamut

Out of the following:
ARR: Shiva, Leviathan, Good King Moggle Mog XII, Ramuh, Odin
HW:

Bismarck, Ravana, Knights of the Round, Alexander, Sephirot, Sophia, Zurvan

STB:

Susano, Tsukuyomi, Lakshmi, Shinryu

The eden versions could be glamour options or new summons altogether

Only caveat is that this disregards the identity FF10/11/12/13 made to how summoning magic evolved in the series So saying that the current FFXIV SMN is a real summoner only proves my statement and is a downgrade.

It is fine to disagree but it is not fine to call people as idiots for not agreeing to you. Let this serve as a callout to your tone.

Even if it was not directed to me, calling others idiots for not agreeing is not fine. We can continue to freely exchange thoughts without the need of calling people names. Sheesh.
