Bigger tits or else im outta here
I'm with Molly Millions on the hardware issue. I'll be more than a little upset if the reqs exceed what we have now.
But there aren't any features that will cause me to quit if I don't get them.
However, there are LOTS of "features" that could cause me to quit if they were ever included..
Stuff like:
Open World PVP
Micro transactions
In-game adverts
Recognizable political/social activism themes
Cross-game/cross-company promotions (God of War, Halo, etc)
New world maps modeled after FFXIII's 'corridor zones'.
There really would be only one deal-breaker for me: Player interference. As long as the game isn't wildly open to people being douchebags and/or competing for ridiculous spawn camps or similar terror stories I hear from XI, it'll be awesome.
I mean, i'm definitely not against content that is designed around competition, like PvP and other such things (they just got in my ignore list), but unless that is the entire point of said content, it becomes the worst headache ever. That is pretty much the only thing that'd drive me away.
It's a tie between:
Legitimate feeling of accomplishment when completing something hard.
Varied and deep world with areas I can't just waltz on over to at level 10.
Less menus for every decision and quest. If anything breaks my precious immersion it's trying to experience a dynamic and breathing world through digital paperwork.
Open world PvP doesn't make a lot of sense currently. we can't play on the side of the empire. and the GCs dont' hate eachother enough for all out open warfare. and with the empire threatening war, it's unlikely they would risk this.
what's wrong with micro transactions? or do you mean being forced to buy little things to maintain a competitive advantage? i don't mind micro transactions as long as it is vanity only. or things like xp boost. league of legends handles micro transactions very well. also the UI isn't really set up to handle this kind of thing. it'd have to go through their 'crysta' or w/e it is system they have on their webpage. and because the game crashes everytime you minimize i don't see this as likely.
in-game adverts don't make sense either. SE has never done this. why would they start?
cross-game/company doesn't make sense either. SE, again, has never done this.
no comment on corridor zones >.>
I don't think in absolutes. I will play 2.0 with an open mind. If i'm having fun, I will stay. If not, I will find something else.
My deal breaker: Leave my brain alone.
If SE brokens my mind, I unable play 2.0.
Suggested Resolution: Pleasd don't brokened my brain muscle parts. Beaucoup hurts desu.
1) Open World Content like FFXI (sky/sea) and Instanced Zones like Dynamis/Limbus/Einherjar with averange Droprate like in XI.
in shortwords, i would love to see a "remake" of XI, it was the best mmo to level 75 times, where u farm for you favorite classes alot of equip, and it was fun! sometimes i really miss the times ... 6/7 days a week different raids... and sometimes not... but atm i am doin the same ... 6/7 days i am doin CC or AV but its always the same... i going in rage mode because SE faild so hard with XIV and 2.0 start is my last hope... if i dont see any good changes ... thats it >.>
Thank you for posting exactly what I'm thinking. :) The world is possibly the most important part of an MMO for me, and I feel like this is the most disappointing aspect of XIV in its current state. I really hope 2.0's world delivers!
I also agree with people who are pointing out the server problems. There is a lot of missing functionality due to the current server system, such as in-game mail and a unified marketplace/AH. The devs say that all of this will be fixed, and I believe them. But what I'm most concerned about is the responsiveness of the battle system. Yoshida has said recently that it will be fast and fluid in 2.0; if he's right, then I think battling in XIV 2.0 will be a completely new experience. I've got my fingers crossed.
for me, being able to Craft & place furnitures in my Housing.
I like creating things, slap my signature on it & sell it to
whoever wants a "Funky" princess Bed.
Just being able to do this in 2.0 will give the game new interesting concepts.
Like at christmas time in FFXI wehere we could buy a christmas tree & put it in our MH etc.
Seasonal event lamps & statues and so much much more.
And i want a HUGE massive fish tank in there too, to show off my weekly catch to my friends.
Maybe even put up that Hammerhead Shark on the Wall for display.
Or the Dzmael Darkhold Ogre Horn above the door entrance as my trophy.
Ooh ooh, and a Dodo rug on the floor in the living room. ^-^
Additional:
The "Funky" Corp, dosent take responsibility
for any broken parts included in the shipping package.
Broken or damage goods can be sent back for
replacement for a small fee of 20mil / piece.
Call 1337-Funky for additional information.
I can assure you that I would.
I can still squeeze a fair amount of enjoyment out of FF11, or maybe even TSW! I only play one MMO at a time, so the chance of me switching to a different game is very real.
Quitting FF14 isn't that much of a loss, after all. I've only invested a few months into it. I've quit games that I have played for way longer than that.
Hmmm... Deal-breaker, eh?
If the music doesn't improve. I know its odd seeing as anyone could just turn off the music, but it is vital to my enjoyment of any game. It is a huge factor in creating a unique atmosphere and sparking alive my own imagination of an area's culture. Ex: Aht Urghan/Sandy/Whatever. So far, all the rock-heavy guitarness in the game only serves to break my immersion because it doesn't seem to match up with the world at all. The only music that seems slightly applicable from the limited amount of the game I have experienced is Ul'dah's city music and the music in the Shroud. At least it sounds foresty right? Everything else just doesn't match the feel of this world.
I'm not sure if it would be the one thing to make me rage-quit the game, but I do know that if the music is improved, I will fall in love with everything all over again. Please SE, for the love of Altana, create a world which our hearts can live in again!
Fully customizable key bindings
Hmmm.....mmmmm......mmmm.mm..m.m.m.m..mm..mm..m.hhhhh...hmmm.hhh.m.h.m.h.m.h.m...... .
gonna have to go with Lalafel Camel Toe.
The Dealbreaker for me would be if DOL/DOH changes were in on day one of 2.0 lol though odds of that happening are extremely low. Though if it did happen I would most likely unsub til they actually adjusted DOL/DOH however they could save themselves if they add a good chunk of the housing system and if the Free company system is engaging enough. Overall though DOL/DOH changes are really what I"m looking forward to so hopefully they already have that all set in place for the 2.0 game.
Not really optional when everyone does it and you're forced to party with people you will likley never see again because everyone else is doing the same thing. Saying it's optional is kinda like saying using offensive magic as a blackmage is optional. Sure you can use some skills from your other classes, nut no one is going to play with you.
Not that this game comunity is particularly exceptional.
SO MUCH THIS!!! + MOUSE BINDS
Being locked into ctrl/alt for macros and 1-0 for action bars is so freaking archaic and annoying. I'm dealing with it for now, but I won't invest time (or money) in this game post 2.0 if they don't give me free reign over my key bindings, including being able to bind things to my mouse (autorun comes to mind). I have gotten too much out of the two-hands-on-keyboard habit to go back to it.
Well, it's kind of a 1-2 deal because the two go hand in hand with me.
PVP, and the ability to move my character by pressing both mouse buttons. I don't like wasd or arrow keys, and would rather just jump over something and do a 180 than move backwards...
Edit.. OK I lied, it's 1-2-3 cause it also implies being able to jump with the spacebar.
Yeah, totally. Shayla's a sweet girl and hardly ever does anything wrong (except to try feeding me poisonous cookies!).
ROFL...
I have no particular single deal-breaker, normally. However, besides the fact that quite a bit of 2.0 involves stuff that makes me cringe, I do have a variety of possible deal-breakers that when combined, simply causes me to quit playing (and only an idiot wouldn't see some of these involve others, so don't even bring that up):
Idiot-proofed gameplay
Platforming elements
Auto-attack
Forced Tutorials
Too Many Instanced Dungeons
Lobby/DRMfested styled single-player world
Lack of Group-only Content, Midgame & Endgame
Lack of long-term Goals
Lack of Character Customization (to make my character how I want her to be)
Lack of Organizational Commands (AKA LS administration)
Lack of a Sense of Adventure
Lack of Advancement
Lack of PvE Competition
Lack of Realism & Lore
Lack of a proper HTML/XML-customizable action-bar like what AoC has (rather have no action bar at all than one not customizable through HTML/XML)
Black&White Morality (sorry, not interested in there being mere 'good guys vs bad guys' as it's always done wrongly and 99% of the time, the good guys look like idiots)
My deal breaker: If the game doesn't have some awesome open world content and I find it's far too many instances. I will probably hang up my hat. Just never been a fan of everything I do being in a timed/instanced box. I like Instanced content...just not having everything as one is somewhat nice.
I want more race options that allow me to play as a fox.
No clue if you're still checking this thread, but: Of course there are EU linkshells on Balmung. Mostly Harmless is one of them, and an awesome shell at that. You just have to look a little harder!
Servers and an engine that is not garbage are the main issue, but supposedly that is to be fixed in 2.0. So, assuming those are fixed, the deal breaker is FUN.
I almost never see it brought up and it seems like some sort of symptom of how this community operates and how progress-driven this game and XI have been, but it's a video game. I do not care if it runs great or if the story is amazing, nor do I care if the graphics are beautiful. All of that will fall and be meaningless of there is no content that is ENJOYABLE to do. The game must be FUN. It can be hard as all hell but if it is not fun then hard is just a pointless waste of time and effort.
I don't think anyone should be wasting the life they have to live on a game that brings them no enjoyment or happiness, but instead is like slaving away in the coal mines for that weekly $5 check that someday maybe you'll save up for that diamond ring that's so coveted by everyone.
I'd also say the community getting over their "I hate every other MMO ever" thing but I don't think that will ever happen.
If the game feels as bad as 1.0 felt on launch, my heart will be broken.
It's a good thing that it seems impossible for that to happen.
Deal breaker: If there isnt a ready check feature. God! I just NEED one!!!
Make selling things easier, not having to have a note pad at hand to write down current prices to then run back to my retainer and set the items for sale would be great!
Oh and map markers, lots and lots of map markers.
Good storyline.
I guess my deal-breaker (though not really because I'll still play) is PvP. I'm not asking for it to be copy and paste from WoW but I loved their PvP. I hope we have things like capture the flag etc... I could go on all day about pvp lol, but I'll just say I really hope a lot is put into it.
Compulsory server segregation will make me quit.
If this is not fixed with 2.0... all hope is lost for me in this game...
Nothing I hate more than seeing a new player /shout for help with Imperial Devices for a solid 2 hours whilst a couple of people toggle mog weapons on and off...
(the '2 hours' detail is based off of hearsay evidence from the new player himself...)
I like 2 things tanking and stealth-like classes. I dont really play any other roles. That being said, If Tanking were a 1, then being a thief/ninja would be a 10. So basically what Im saying is that sooner or later (not too late, otherwise I might stop playing and come back later) I will have to have a thief or ninja or both (even if thats basically what they are but named differently).
Deal Breaker = No Thief or Ninja class
Soloution = Mke a Thief or Ninja class. :b
RNG, more specifically RNG that puts you back to square one...
It just gets so frustrating after your 10th attempt and it blows up. (loosing the melded gear instead of just the materia you want to meld on to it... loosing the double meld you had before as an example. I get it has to be rare but does it have to be so frustrating?)
Another example is grinding the same content (dungeons and primals amongst other things...) 30 times to get maybe one drop out of the set. It gets to the point where it's no longer entertaining and just monotonous. Some people might like the casino style system, however I'm not one of them.
I can take grinding for xp, I'll have a good estimate on when I will reach my goal. Grinding dungeon drops not so much, especially when the drop rate is = or < 10%. Why would I want to repeat it after I'm done? Miss a patch? Too bad, people moved on and you miss the content.
Please, no more RNG where the result is all or nothing. As a LS member said, when you gamble, it's always stacked in favor of the house (10% RNG success anyone?).
Ohh turned into a bit of a rant... whoops
Random things that create really good roleplaying opportunities. Little caves like we have now with nothing in them except some nice scenery, chairs we can sit in, amphitheaters, taverns, things like that. I can't get into MMO's that lack things for roleplaying.
