Other people who are trying to get rewards from content as efficiently as possible are not griefing. A basic fate will not give 100 people gold rating before all the mobs die so it's essentially a PvP scenario. It has the same solutions as hunts do. If the train is going too fast for you to get credit, you need to adapt.
1) Get credit as a group and play better
2) Do not follow the train and instead get kills on your own before the train gets there
3) Do the content during quiet morning hours
4) Do the content on another server or data center
5) Wait for the popularity to die down
BLU murdering FATEs isn't anything new, it's one of the few places people can actually use the job so I don't feel bad about them going nuts when they can. As others have said, this also isn't the first time BLU has had access to this event (I was also a part of ShB's rerun). They have just as much right to be there as you do and they also are an asset for quick FATE burning.
Your options are:
1. Join a PF with BLU/Make a PF and ask for BLU.
2. Use a tank and try to build up enmity before they burn it
3. Go to a dead DC and do it there (Materia is a great option alongside Dynamis)
Happy eventing o7
FATEs haven't been a "community" thing in recent years tbh. I actually never see anyone holding FATEs for other people, even in past events. There's no reason to with how many spawn + you can also now go to other servers/DCs to grind. Eureka and Bozja are an exception because of how level scaling works in there and it needs multiple people to kill some FATEs (like the zone bosses for example). Overworld FATEs do not...at all....99% of people can solo most, if not all of them.
A ranks generaly survive long enough for all players of a party to get a hit in, and especialy an enmity hit from the tank. This is enough for getting full credit.
But for these fates that die instantly, this doesnt work. Even if a few players are there in time, anyone who is too late will miss out.
Now on the other end, getting a blue mage capable of doing these things took effort. Effort that should be rewarded. So nerfing/banning them from these things would be counter productive. It means that for the single time that it truly is overpowered, you suddenly cant use it.
And its only a certain number of fates that suffer here, any fate in which enemies spawn in waves is essentialy blocked from insta clears (and a lot of blues do use a pull ability here which actualy makes others capable of doing the dps - the case in which they are helpful). Its mostly boss fates where it fails as thats a single target that can be insta killed then (and even here some are immune). The bigger problem is that only regions which involve a tribe have a decent fate spawn rate so you can always go to at least a few in time. In some regions you end up waiting more than you are actualy doing the fates, and if those fates are insta cleared, it realy puts pressure on it.
To me the best solution would have been to reasign the regions for each minion to have them more spreaded out: 5 minions ARR (thanalan/shroud/noscea), 2 minions ARR (mordhona/coerthas), 6 minions HW, 6 minions SB. That most of them are ARR only makes those areas even more congested in player numbers, amplifying the problem. And you could even have given each minion a Shb area with it if you want to release the pressure even more.
Well the ToS goes in both directions...

■Nuisance behavior
"Nuisance behavior" is speech or behavior that hurts others or obstructs their gameplay, but which is not classified as harassment. Even if it was not intended, a penalty may be issued if the end result was that another person was hurt, or their gameplay was obstructed. If the behavior was observed being conducted by multiple players, all involved members will be issued a penalty.

◆Obstruction of play
"Obstruction of play" refers to all behavior in general that obstructs another person's gameplay. Below is a non-exhaustive list of examples of obstruction of play:
・Obstructing Gameplay Using Combat
Refers to an act of obstructive behavior such as using specific skills in an unintended manner or taking advantage of battle mechanics to interfere with the gameplay of other players.
That's absolutely foolish. Obstruction of play? How are theydoing so using the job for its purpose it's not the players fault if square doesn't think things through, but it is the players fault if they want to target people for using a job that is overpowered
Players will always abuse and exploit and consume everything in seconds. It's as natural as breathing. It's SquareEnix's problem, and unfortunately, they don't care. Clealry, they don't care if it's been like this multiple times, and they haven't done the most basic things to solve the issue.
Minimum 1 minute immunity to FATEs. If you can't make it there in at least a minute, you miss out. And inside of that minute, I can hit the boss or mobs whatever and get credit as if I did. Are you going to get a lot of lazy players hit it once and move on sure, but they will stop complaining.
Maybe adjust the times, but there's a solution. And guess what? I have another one.
Multiple instances to break up the clumps of players. Easy solutions can be turned on and off during matineance as needed.
I'm not a software developer, and I just gave you two freebies, SquareEnix. Stop being terrible. Stop being lazy. There you go, you filthy animals.
Welcome to how Zadnor works with the extra overpowered actions. Sometimes is impossible to reach a skirmish (FATE) there in time becasue they are done with in a matter of seconds. And BLU isn't even allowed there.
As for the Yo-kai fate farming, the problem could be resolved if the completion requirements scaled with the number of people doing the FATE. What happens is that the spawn rate of mobs apparently is bigger with more people doing, but not the number of kills required to complete the objective. If you're soloing a spwan-based FATE as a BLU with just 1 or 2 people besides you, it takes quite a while to complete.
Boss FATEs are not an issue because they (usually) can't be targeted by the 1-shot actions.
I would never do that.
I just wanted to show the person who came up the ToS that it pretty much swings in the opposite direction.
Everyone should respect everyone else. Stomping over the Fates with BLU is selfish behavior. And seeing people defending it here just shows what kind of person they are. I would be ashamed of myself.
Certainly.
1.) Say you hit the mob in that one minute, and then leave. The mob resets (because no one else as aggro'd it). Does your credit go away?
2.) What about escort fates?
That's just 2 questions, but no matter what, that is going be coding changes that impact all fates, and how credit is determined.
So if you pay attention, they don't blanket add instances. In your scenario, are they going to blanket add instances to every zone from ARR to SB? It's clear that spinning up instances isn't dynamic. They obviously have limitations as to how many total instances of things they can spin up, so there is no way they are going to just blanket add instances to every server they have. When they do add multiple instances, it's not server specific. This could very well be a lot of overhead (I don't know because I don't know their setup), but even in autoscaling, there are costs involved to spinning up instances for demand.
So, like I said, as a software developer, what you think is simple is never as simple as it seems. Would you tell a farmer "Just plant some seeds and water them. Stop being terrible. Stop being lazy" as to why crops don't always grow? If not, then perhaps you sit out on telling a software developer how to do their job.
Eureka is an entirely different thing dude. That fate will respawn later soon enough, you're not missing a promotion, sheesh.
Do you understand that the most farmed fates are the very low levels that you can complete in under a minute? Do you think blus can wait a minute or two when the ADD fates die in 50 seconds? LOLLLL
Same event, same complain all over again.
People will always use the most convenient way to farm the events, is SE fault for design an event that the only way to farm the stuff is open world FATE's.
You have 2 months to farm the event, in one week you will be able to farm your stuff without problem like the old event, thats what i will do even if i have BLU max lvl with all the spells.
btw you should try play BLU mage, is very fun and unique to play with the job
1) Farm late at night/early morning - when most people sleep.
2) Wait 1-2weeks , most of hardcore farmers will be done.
Let Blues have their time in the sun!
In all seriousness though, I think it is great that players are finding a good way to keep BLU's active a bit especially with the Beastmaster coming up. I was always told that BLU's are perfect for FATES/solo dungeons/carnivals. Really I haven't leveled my BLU cause there isn't a ton you can do with it and I have a ton of other content to catch up on first, but this is giving me a bit of inspiration to get that job rolling for a bit.
Truly, the only bad thing BLU players can do is not include explosion on their bar (kidding) to blow themselves up! I think I would be laughing for a full day if I got to see 50 BLU players blowing themselves up in a FATE to clear it :D
BLU did exist in the past events, just not the first one. For that one, the issue was high levels one-shotting everything. Unfortunately, the Yo-kai event tends to bring out the worst in the community because you do have a lot of others who only care to get theirs and don't care who they might screw over in doing so.
It's not a perfect solution, but I would always do my farming late at night when there are less people around and join up with a farming party if I did anything earlier in the day.
One of the big problems I've always seen is that non-BLU need to be in the sync down area and BLU don't. They can go kill things in a FATE where mobs spawn outside the sync area before anyone synced is in range to hit them with anything. It's definitely a problem but I'm not sure there's any real good solution. Can't prohibit BLU from FATEs. Can't buff them too much because then sprouts wouldn't be able to do these when things go back to normal. They can and I think have made some spells just not work on certain boss mobs but there are still enough where BLU can dominate FATEs.
This happened in previous events or patches involving FATE grinds, to a degree.
They are affected. Their item level and level is reduced, which reduces the strength of their attacks. That may be moot when their 1-hit attacks become available, but that doesn't mean it's not affecting them.Quote:
BLU is not effected by the level sync mechanic and have access to their entire spell list.
That's a good idea.Quote:
The only reasonable and simple solution I can see is restricting that BLU cannot equip the watch.
i am wondering if they are meaning even synced down blue still has access to all their spells and can still mass kill them way far quicker vs a synced regular job. if MP wasnt a fixed give all 10k mp like it was pre 5.0then it would be a different story because item level would affect the mp pool then.
thats all blu can do its the fate grinder. Now the question is will beast master be the same way
Feels like a classic tragedy of the commons. As someone mentioned it does become a PVP issue, ping issues and all. If everyone is doing it, everyone is progressing slower as it's entirely possible even other BLU mages aren't getting hits in.
The problem is worsened by some jobs, like BLM, not even being able to finish their cast in the time the fight is over.
While I could pull out my BLU, it feels like it would just make the problem worse and someone else out there who is just trying to enjoy themselves with the job they enjoy will get frustrated because it's just a bad experience.
I had to go to materia on the deadest server I knew of in off hours to farm the 48 so I could get all the pets and even then I was trying to race Blues. It was infuriating. Thankfully I don't want the weapons or mounts (personally do not like them) so I am done with this nightmare.
No I did not do it on this character which is an old main I mostly do not play anymore.
If they nerf blue again ya'll gonna regret it once Yokai is over and you need to solo fates for some old relic or whatever, lol.
Shame about it being the same problem again.
Hopefully this simmers down over time and non-blue mages are able to get their tokens for the rewards.
My only solution I found to solo fate and have a reward with always a gold medal despite the groups is to take Machinist and spam (and when I say spam i mean , Sprint on, full spread shot/scattergun) no stop that's literally the only way I managed to do anything by myself
It'll probably simmer down alot! I feel your frustration, but I don't really think BLU is griefing, BLU as a job kinda specializes in just that...fate farming!
Yesterday (late evening on EU), I switched to a less populated server, there were alot of blues who were using Hydro Pull and not nuking bosses. I know as one, I give time for people to come, I only need to tag a few times, maybe less so in a party. You get participation for healing/enmity generation as well.
I don't think BLU should be nerfed though, however I think fate bosses in HW? and beyond resist one shots and freeze, so there's some anti-blu nuking there.
I remember when I was new I was really upset and that made me go level BLU and I found it really fun, it made the fate farm grind less...awful. Now, years after I've done 100+ fates for 30 Legendary medals....I think most of these would've felt way worse because I was alone (early morning hours)...
I think it's just player behavior mixed with bad scaling! People feel the need to nuke to get participation, and when things are dying quickly, many get desperate to 'do more damage' to get credit...which I think makes it alot worse :/
It'll calm down eventually though! I've seen fate trains on EU here, which is really nice, people following to one fate, and not blowing things up on arrival.
Imagine being called griefing for taking advantage what the game has provided legitimately to speed up their own grinding process. Very #GCBTW.
Maybe one day dev will 'fix' this. BLU already has so little contents where they can shine though.
