I would love this! But I don't think they would make the mistake of giving us this power. We all know what happened with the adventurer plates.
If they would give us anything, would be a colour in book based on numbers. On premade pictures XD

It would be cool if you would have a sidequest for pictomancer to go and collect different paints. Like the sidequest for Bard to get the instruments. But a bit more exploration, maybe with some colours locked behind some content. This could be an interesting way to add more rewards to older content. For example: You start with the base RGB. And if you do POTD with a pictomancer to like floor 50 or 100, you could get a Jet black dye and add it as a colour. Or finishing a Raid series like Crystal Tower would give you another colour (Maybe cyan?). Just an idea, I think it would be fun and it would incentivise people to at least try some content, but not force them to master it.


But to stay on topic, I am most excited about Female Hrothgar and got interested later in Pictomancer (it looks fun and vibrant). Not a raider so the viability of the job is of little importance to me; as long as I can do the midcore content, I will be happy. ~ Worst-case scenario, I have SMN on hand.

Ohh yeah. Maybe they start like in art classes- primaries and secondaries then it evolves into more between and subtle shades. I can see it evolving into picking your preferred palette to work with. Though, there is definitely enough room to have the whole rainbow. Do you think it might work with mixing colors too?
Also thinking of with this angle, maybe certain materials are in play too. Different kinds of paints have different properties. Maybe considering the paint type is part of it too

There's a lot I'm looking forward to in Dawntrail, but top of the list is probably the 24-main raid series. I played FFXI a lot and am really looking forward to seeing which characters get a cameo.

as an artist I can see myself purposely mutilating the coloring pages because my mind isn't entirely whole
the paint sidequest would be so much fun! maybe we get a moogle delivery easter egg in it!
RGB generally applies to light rather than pigments, it would usually be RYB or CMYK (insert funny printer joke). Though, playing with light is what digital artists essentially do so I can see potential there.

I just got a cursed (horrible) idea from this-
Imagine the old ff system with bows. Arrows need to be bought. Some arrows are only found in limited amounts. Now pictomancer is the bow and the paints are the arrows. You will need to run certain content just to replenish paints. Run out in the middle of a dungeon? Too bad.
Luckily, I do not see SE committing this crime.

Having a job in your pocket is always viable- you can always throw it like pocket sand if things go bad!
I look forward to seeing hrothgal in dungeons. Always nice to see different kinds of characters

I'm a little worried about that. The minimum specs went too high that an RTX 3050 for laptops might not be enough to even run the game. On benchmarks it performs below GTX 970, that's minimum for even running Dawntrail.

RN, that RTX runs with everything maxed. And then will run with everything at minimum. If it even runs.
