As someone who plays a male character, I don't know why anyone would play as a female one. All gear variations are inferior for female characters anyway.

I honestly thought this entire thread was a shitpost lol.
But hey, I play only male characters (in all games, if possible) mainly because I'm tired of looking at boobage and ass. But also another reason is to stop random people from bothering me and having corny levels spike up when I'm happily married in both real life and in-game.
I wonder why its race thats most used to erp, makes no sense to me xD but yea i have seen those miqotes basicially standing on each other and sitting on each others laps. Lots of gay people use miqote for some reason i dont understand, same with au ra. But the while creepy man thing i dont understand and dont really like the normalization that men are creeps, i dont wanna live in that society tbh
When l am bored at work,l will come back to read this thread.
Race discrimination for vierra and hrothgar not getting hat accessories while all other races are available.
Never seen any of this sort of thing in three years of playing the game.....
Honestly, it seems this OP and a couple of others get a thrill from constantly trying to blow up insignificant or non-existent issues.
I wouldn't go far as to label it as 'non-existent'. It's not racism. It's just a weird prejudice.
While I've never played Au Ra, I know male ones are often stereotyped as predatory due to a couple of bad apples that trend on twitter. Being referred to as such - even jokingly - can bother some folks.
I mostly have moments of kinship with other hrothgars.
We lock eyes and for a moment we share the same brain cell like "One of us"
I've only seen lalas take it seriously because they all seem to think the race they play is their personality.
Maybe don't judge players on the fictional race they play?
I mean, you go around pretending to be a dragon, when you are related to bugs, you are going to draw some jeers.
This has to be a bait post right? Jokes about other races hardly does the word "racism" justice. Its all satire besides that 0.001% that blacklists you for your race but definitly not worthy of a discussion.
It's absolutely the playerbase's obsession with ERP that's the problem.
I'm sorry you had to experience that, and I know there is "job-ism" as well (judging people who are a WAR or WHM main, for example)
There is a lot of wrong thinking in the world, but please try not to let it bother you too much! I'm glad you are making a post about your experience, since this will spread awareness and encourage a better community. Wishing you peace and good health :)
Every race in this game has a stereotype, let's be real here. And generally in my experience so far in this game, it's far more welcoming towards women and trans community than any other. If I join some group and they hear I'm a woman, nothing happens, life moves on.
I love the racism. There needs to be more of it, in fact.
I would like to see racism from the NPCs toward the WoL depending on what race was chosen, or at least different reactions
i could see that messing with the city lore tbh. for example. i play an aura. and in ishgard and garlemauld there is a bitter hatred for them. i think it would be hard being a xeala WOL in those cities. some races like elezen just dont even get that much hate. so this would be VERY specific to a small few races
A lot of women enjoy playing male characters for the same reasons that men enjoy playing female characters. There are a lot of fujoshis lurking on this game...
There's also a lot of guys that play male characters as a kind of self-insert. You'll actually meet a lot of tough guy e-daters that play male au'ra/viera because they think doing so will allow them to attract women. I think it's this particular subset that really gave rise to the Au'ra groomer stereotype. A lot of the really early rp venues were run by creepy male au'ra dudes back in the pre-DC travel days.
Sidenote, as a long-time Lalafell player, I will say that the lalafell community pretty much deserves its reputation. Sooooooo many pedos have been outed over the years.
