You should try it. Spending your entire life focusing on the negative and being miserable as a result is no way to live.
Funny enough as someone whos playing WoW, their playerbase finds the endgame activities boring and consistent every patch, yet these open world activities are actually fun and engaging stuff to do for character progression weekly, coming off from a perspective of a FFXIV andy like myself.
So yeah I prefer if FFXIV copied current WoWs endgame
Best of Luck to the nominees and to our home away from home. FFXIV! :)
You're not disagreeing. You're contradicting. A disagreement comes with at least some vision of facts from the same coin we're all looking at. It comes with examples. You're meant to convince people that they ARE doing something and you're not doing that across any of your posts.
Show me why you think what you think. You're repeating the same cliches over and over without any independent thought and not bringing forth discussion, but a wall that just says "No."
Well I mean, these forums go completely unmoderated and I don't even think Square Enix looks at them anymore.
Cheating basically has to break into social media meme status for anything
Botting has been a problem in the game for longer than I can remember, and SE doesn't even seem to care or respond to reports in a way that stops it.
Most features introduced in Endwalker had a notoriously short shelf life, ignored community feedback, and just sort of let it to rot. Like Island Sanctuary was so hyped and talked about everywhere until it wasn't, EO fell off the map so fast, and I really like V&C, calling it wildly popular is stretching it.
So its not very transparent, they're not very responsive, that leaves them posting to social media and updating the game. Which yep they sure do.
Like yeah this game updates and gets social media posts but not more so than other games, and that isn't even something worth celebrating.
The devs have to do more than insist everything is impossible and actually listen to their community to get that award. People still acting like this is a few years ago. They've grown increasingly isolated and out of touch from their community. Heck, they went so far as to remove the community Q&A from fanfest this year.
So not this year, no.
TLDR, people gonna vote what they vote for.
-------------------------------------------------‐-------------------
My view, BG3 is gonna Sweep most things as it should.
While other categories have many titles that don't belong.
(Like Cyberpunk, Both Played and Watched all of it. Including Edgerunners. Played it at launch as well. Certainly has gone far.
But for many, certain criteria don't match.)
Which is too say, it's too subjective in their limits.
But in the down low, the game has earned its nominations(begrudgingly based on the minority of us that consistently use the Forums)
[Personally, don't even hold anything against folks here. But many have been taking it to their cores, just like I've slowly been rubbing thorns with those I agree. and likely disagree with me only cause words hurt when they ain't being Scaled on all topics ]
The surge in small QoL has increased. But you could say how many "martyrs" do we need.(or is it a result of having to show strength, while dealing with their hobbled start, and prepare for the next 10 years when they were reduced in number for a certain amount of time. DURING THIS DAMN TRANSITION PERIOD.)
If XIV wins any/either/both, and the dev that partakes in the thanks speech/video doesn't express that they feel any small amount of embarrassment for accepting, then the reflection has gone full circle with the devs being part of our own lack of whelm.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In the end, you can either vote or not. Regardless of what you all chose, it won't change that it's a vibe check of how they see themselves, if they have to show face when accepting. "If you had completed said work in said amount of time, would make you feel embarrassed to even accept pay."(paraphrased)
If anything all it does, is confirm the negative, or show us all which is currently the minority.
[Remember, just cause you all disagree/agree with one topic, don't mean it's all. It's why those who speak strongly when it's not needed even stay around. Cause they ain't wrong on the few things they care about. But you also got to make sure you ain't over pressurized.]
Best outgoing Fortnite due game always changing
Best community BG3 due they taken more feedback and changed stuffs
Best Song it can be tie between ff16/Hifi Rush
Best narrative BG3 because they are pushing the narrative more than ff16 will ever do due choices story always beat linear story.
Long story short it BG3 season today boys.
"RPG" has lost a lot of meaning these days, but "action RPG" especially is now a nonsense catch-all term for basically anything you want. I'm sure there's somebody out there who will say their favourite "action RPGs" are God of War, Borderlands, Arkham City, Minecraft, and Mortal Kombat 11 story mode.
You provide no substance to post other then to be a rabid defender of square enix foaming at the mouth looking to talk down people who have genuine criticism because you don't like seeing people being "mean and negative" to your favorite game when the game isn't as perfect as you always claim. I'm sorry to tell you ff14 isn't perfect and has some flaws but currently I think it's the only good mmo right now when compared to other mmo's and really needs competition to get out of the current stagnating cycle it's been in for years.
Well, in all fairness once in a while you get a good slap at an awards show, you know, to spice things up a bit.
But overall you're correct. The only opinion that matters to me is my own. I couldn't give two shakes of my own (luxurious but I digress) tail what anyone else thinks.
remember when the director specifically asked for feedback over 6.1 samurai changes and then proceeded to completely ignore the existence of said feedback since? pepperidge farm remembers.
Ayee, that's what I'm talking about!

I dont expect FFXIV to win any this around, most of the competition is decent this time around. Does that mean FFXIV is bad? Not even remotely, personally still find it the best MMO currently, good or bad the game is shifting and these changes are just not for everyone...
I like you though~

That guy's just very strange, he accuses me of being a shill and claiming the game has 0 flaws when I very clearly and openly will criticize the devs and game. I just give credit where it's due and give positive feedback when I live something instead of yelling on the forums about how "It's so over" whenever something is in the game I don't like.
Fact is SE and CBU3 have a pristine record post Stormblood (with the sole exception of covid which everyone had issues with) at delivering on time and communicating any delays openly and clearly. In a gaming culture where companies do big promises and then never follow up, that's something to be praised, regardless of your opinions on their other aspects.
You know that you are getting a patch every 3 (now 4) months and you know there will be a live letter a couple weeks ahead of time explaining exactly what is in there, that there will be a piece of content for each type of players (casual, story focused, social, hardcore), and if you don't like what's in the preview, you can unsub and then come back whenever a live letter has things you want in it, and there will be 0 punishment for doing this since catch up gear will be widely available to get you back up to where you need to be.
By all means call SE out when they fail but call them out and give them praise where it's due.
Ongoing is fair...but XIV's community support is us yelling into a void and hoping maybe the issue might be solved when the next xpac drops lol
I didn't vote for Clive's VA but I wouldn't be mad if he won his VA category, he was the highlight of XVI. Honestly don't think XVI deserves to win ost or narrative.
I actually enjoyed FFXVI's OST a lot more than I expected. Many of the dungeon themes were catchy to hum along which is my personal way to gauge the quality of a video game soundtrack if its both a pleasant and recognizable tune to whistle/hum to. This is really the only category that FFXVI should win, because rpg and story wise hooooo boy yeah no.
I'm the opposite- I like XIV's music so much that I really expected to like XVI's way more. The fight/boss themes are genuinely great (Bahamut and Pheonix's are my favs), but outside them the only track that made me stop and really listen was Sanbreque's overworld theme.
Could you imagine spending your days focusing on every negative aspect of this game yet still subbing? That is the type of poster you have to deal with here. I just slap them around and troll the hell out of them. I suggest you do the same. Good to see more people standing up to this garbage. We will take this forum back.
I guess I am missing something with XVI, because I did not find the narrative all that engaging. None of the characters surprised me and without characters that felt like they had purpose beyond the plot it left the story to just kind of drag them along with it. I felt more like the plot was driving the characters rather than the characters driving the plot.
I don't wanna hate on XVI but at the same time I've been at like 95% completion for months and can barely find the motivation to finish it. Wheres the mini games wheres the fan service any time an old school sounding FF jingle plays it just feels jarring and strange. The new Like a Dragon Gaiden has felt more like an Action/RPG hybrid with more build variety from customizing my Kiryu than FF is lol. Okay so you're not gonna give us an airship, can we at least get the boat? No.. o-okay then. How about a chocobo race or some kind of arena that isn't a virtual reality simulation? No? O-okay sorry for asking. Will finish it soon and move on until DLC. It's a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 game don't get me wrong but I swear they're making western games as censored and safe as possible so that it's less work making changes to release in China, it was M rated and even the brothel girls looking straight out of a renaissance fair and not one of those fun ones either.
I honestly feel like they went too hard on the "mature" themes and it ended up kind of missing the mark and falling flat for me. The sex and swearing seem to just be thrown in because why not, it serves little purpose and I feel Clive most of all is a kind of caricature of masculinity. He's the most grunty, growly sweary man and he's such a man because of it.
here for the " We should show appreciation for everything the devs do for us" nonsense
Souls likes tend to have far more RPG elements than FFXIV and FFXVI as well. In fact FFXIV and FFXVI have had so many RPG elements removed from them they don't look like RPGs when placed next to other RPGs or even some games that don't identify themselves as RPGs in the first place.
TBH the only nomination I agree with is Best music and Score. Music is one of the few things SE has steadily improved on over time.
I really enjoyed the music in FFXVI and thought the story was quite good (Clive had an incredible delivery), although for narrative and a lot of other categories (lol) I think BG3 absolutely wrecked the stratosphere on multiple elements bringing an insanely high value proposition (and as a company will probably punch out a few more patches and even a definitive edition before it's all said and done). Would put FFXIV in the music section too though, for similar reasons as FFXVI.
I would like a better definition of community support. Because No Man's Sky's patch after patch of free content is pretty incredible and an ARR redemption arc that is worth the 1 hour long internet historian video of a watch. FFXIV has great community out reach when it comes to pre-planned things (live letters, etc), and I strongly believe they read and are aware of a lot of feedback (whether they agree and why for is a different thing), but naturally outside of arranged procedures they don't really talk to us.
If simply responding to players in the forum is valued then I'd give it to WoW, but if taking player feedback was important I'd give it to FFXIV. WoW's recent showcase I think might be showing a shift in the way they handle that, so if they keep literal talking points with listening to feedback.. may go back to them.
Alternatively because why not give the whole show to Larian, Larian made BG3 with constant direct and pre-planned feedback with players. Taking feedback, responding to it, etc.
Definitely feel FFXIV is in a good best on going place. I don't know much about the other games except CP2077, which has improved recently certainly, but FFXIV has a longer track record by far (and to me meets 'on going'). Though then I'd be surprised No Man's Sky isn't there.
Meh...
Armored Core 6 only got 1 nomination.
However they appear to have went out of their way to shoehorn Alan Wake 2 into as many categories as possible.
"Well your opinion is incorrect!"
Just kidding. Im actually the opposite with this one as well, I appreciate a lot of FFXIV's music and theres many catchy songs and boss themes but the ost is all over the place and many hits and misses with me. Which makes sense considering this is an MMO and variety is key but Im more of a traditional rpg guy thay values consistency than variety in music so Im not a huuuuge fan of Soken's (and others) works in this game, but I love FFXVI since its the first where hes able to have a more consistent sound with a few of the usual over the top bells and whistle tracks in eikon themes.
