I was into Hot Topic 20 years ago.
Glad you enjoy dressing like that, OP. But find others that like the same. Also yes, you remind me of an edgy, emo kid from the 1990s with that choice of clothing. I grew up in those days. Miss them too

I will side partially with OP
There is a whopping total of 2 fishnets in the game (the evenstar tights look terrible withouth thighboots), you can go up to 3 if you count gold saucer bottoms as different (And Im not counting the Gaia set because you cant use them separately). There is 1 pair of stripped socks in the Valentione Skirt, and there is about 3 Pantyhose that look decent (bridesmaid, sky pirate replicas, 2Bs)
One thing I really wish they yoinked from BDO or any Social game I suppose (Even PSO2 had it and its a 10 year old game too), is the Underwear system, just so you can layer certain sets under the armor. Plus it would allow for some more intricate designs I suppose, like one-piece Bikinis or garter to glam with caster gear
Another thing I side with OP is the hair, both tall and long haircuts are sorely lacking. And while people or SE themselves argue its to avoid clipping, I believe those who want long hairs can accept clipping if they can have more options
Where I disagree is using IMVU as a example. I feel like they made a mistake on posting the picture. As people fixated on it instead of the general idea of the post wich is to get more customization
Eh, I'll pass on this.
okay, this was a genuinly hilarious troll thread. i dont for a secon belive any of this but my god was it entertaining to watch. i will say, as a goth from the 90's i do find the portrayal a little insulting... but im not into all this wierd garlet belt baby doll s-x stuff that goths seam to push. were never gona become anything like imvu thankfully because that game truelly is for erp and other suff this game doesnt ever need. and layered underwear is also just a step way to far. ur playing a chilled out mmo about a guy saving the world from evil. so please dont try to incourage more s-xualization in this game than already there is.. because frankly.. its not attractive.. its a game.. not a social dating site..
Because this is why. What you are about to read is chapter 1.
Hi my name is Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way and I have long ebony black hair (that's how I got my
Characters
Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way("my")
name) with purple streaks and red tips that reaches my mid-back and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like Amy Lee (AN: if u don't know who she is get da hell out of here!). I'm not related to Gerard Way but I wish I was because he's a major ******* hottie. I'm a vampire but my teeth are straight and white. I have pale white skin. I'm also a witch, and I go to a magic school called Hogwarts in England where I'm in the seventh year (I'm seventeen). I'm a goth (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly black. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a black corset with matching lace around it and a black leather miniskirt, pink fishnets and black combat boots. I was wearing black lipstick, white foundation, black eyeliner and red eye shadow. I was walking outside Hogwarts. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of preps stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.
"Hey Ebony!" shouted a voice. I looked up. It was... Draco Malfoy!
"What's up Draco?" I asked.
"Nothing." he said shyly.
But then, I heard my friends call me and I had to go away.
Like... don't get me wrong. Black is a super elegant color, and I still love to rock it from time to time in-game.
This is how I do it nowadays:

Though to be completely honest, this is how I actually look like in-game these days. It's SFW, don't worry.
This direction might seem like it won't require as much "effort" on the developers' part, but it actually requires a lot more. Effort is not just in hours, but also reputation. They have to make an active change in direction, which requires a tad bit of courage to stop their habits. That's easily the most effort. Then they have to re-make their advertising for this new genre, since right now it's being treated as a numbered Final Fantasy game. Everything they publish for FFXIV involves the story and characters, which isn't what IMVU or Second Life is for.
Square Enix hates making any effort at anything. It's a failing company whose profits are plummeting. Even the tiniest bit of "effort"--which only involves some small executive decisions--is too much for them. If this task was a lifting exercise, the payload would be a grain of rice and Square Enix wouldn't have any arms.
You are correct, and the "social MMO" genre has a huge potential. That's why at least 20,000 people are using Mare at any given moment. But look around you, look at the cash shop and the Lodestone. Do you think this company cares about anything other than making a quick buck off of us?

Also, follow ChrysOCE's advice:
There's also Edda's gear from Palace of the Dead on the Mogstation too (I especially like the boots of that set).
And do not overlook the use of Gunmetal Black dye on 'regular' attire - as it gives a black 'wet' leather look to most materials (for instance, if used with the wedding dress... the result is a very gothic gown).
tara gilesbie is that you did you finally come out of hiding to fight the preps
(i was hoping to be the first to point out the my immortal vibes but ALAS someone else got there first)
If you're really interested in finding a MMORPG that conforms to your idea of what the world should be, try Steam or google. It's going to require an indie developer, not a mainstream title from a Triple A studio/publisher that is publicly owned. Investors are not going to see what you're seeking as a good investment opportunity.
Or just play PSO2, plenty of goth looking stuff there (don't know the current status on the NA servers).
Guess my reply to the OP was too much for them that it got deleted. Eh oh well.
The funniest thing is, back when Shadowbringers was current, some guy in his basement made a modded costume of Gaia's outfit in separate dyeable pieces and then just gave it away for free to anyone who wanted to dress like Gaia. It took SE 3 years to implement the same thing. They tied it to the cash shop, and introduced it as an undyeable 20 dollar onesie. Now I'd definitely never advocate for illegal third party stuff, but when SE lags this bad you can really see how the modding community established the foothold that it did.
OP's obviously a joke, but the core of his post has some truth to it. There is an insanely large portion of the player base that doesn't care how barren this game becomes from a gameplay perspective and will continue to just log in because they only play this game to ... for lack of a better word, release certain urges. If CBU3 really wanted to fund Forespoken's bad sequels for the next 20 years, all they'd have to do is release a pair of independent pantyhose in the cash shop that apply to your character's legs without taking up a bottom slot. This would allow players to have cute leggings paired with their existing skirts/dresses instead of being forced to use the few skirts that happen to come with tights baked in. Or, hell, if they just released a full blown cardigan/skirt school uniform that only occupied the "top" slot and then let people pair it with another cash shop "bottom" slot that was just knee high socks of varying length, they'd probably bankroll a whole new mmo. And if we had a 2-seater motorcycle mount where the passenger wraps her arms around the driver, they could probably finance the next Playstation off of that alone. On god, if they'd just released the Lyse ponytail but with actually good bangs fitted properly for every race, they could've charged 50 dollars and people would've bought it just to have a long ponytail that their in game Eternal Bond hubby can tug on or whatever. It's honestly weird that they haven't totally sold out and caved to this crowd yet, since these people reliably sub to the game even when there's no content . I can't tell if it's just Yoshi P having principles and being the last vanguard against it (hard to defend this when we have so many bad casual outfits already out tbh), or if the company is just out of touch.
I agree actually. NOT!!! To the IMVU thing, not at all-but there is a big lack in darker aesthetic attire. Vampires, Victorian era, Edwardian era, etc-these are all very common in the world of fantasy as well. Just as there are the more Taverny outfits that we're all used to like the Riviera clothes, more sets that ultimately just resemble some of the Eden outfits absolutely would not hurt at all, and would be especially more useful around Halloween too, for like Halloween get together/ball occasions, whatever players may come up with. It's not like some of the dungeons themselves don't also feed into that, with the waltz dancing in the castle'esque one or the Manor.
For those like me who had both a Scene and a Visual Kei phase, we know that Japan has their very own versions of these attires too; like Ouji/EGL fashion, etc.
Someone said something along the lines of, 'well but it would look like a sex doll' and to that I say, only if you're heavily addicted and belong on a list-so with that out of the way, I absolutely agree that these styles would actually benefit a lot of players, do fit into the game, and further add to the overall fantasy aesthetic. But not the IMVU versions-we're not looking for like, modern clothes here. I think the idea shouldnt exactly be Hottopic, but more like, Dairy of a Vampire with Brad Pitt. Victorian eras fit just fine.
idk how much it helps, but the female healer Garo set looks nice!
