Well it would certainly be a grindfest no doubt... but that's what it is, it would just be a grindfest. An excessive one at that.

Quite frankly all it would do is more FL botting or potentially start CC botting to slowly but surely rake up Series EXP to rack up Trophy Crystals for Wolfmarks. Again, 100 Wolfcollars is an excessive grind that a normal person would hardly be interested to grind for, let alone thousands of them, PER REWARD.
I wouldn't "mind" it this way (as long as they are called Replica or otherwise differentiate from the original items) but you are thinking a bit "too" utopic how well people would receive excessive grind fests. Eureka and Bozja for relics were heavy grindfests and where many drew the line. PvP will only be worse because many are completely averse to the idea of pvping in the first place.
Hmm the legacy stuff is a bit of a false equivalency and personally I don't think it'd be justifiable to bring them into the fold under the umbrella of past rank rewards the case being twofold one being that the argument is to inspire or promote more activity In pvp (hopefully in all DCs) the second and a bit minor but unfortunately one I can't ignore in good conscience is that it would reward those that were locked out of the previous T100 spots due to the supposed WT,cheating ,as provided by the OP regarding the 10% comment on T100, if 10 spots out 100 are locked then regardless of skill, 10 people never had a chance which is a shame to those that put effort and time into past seasons but unfortunately had certain odds stacked against them, I think putting certain rewads in an achievement such as place t100 in any season is a good compromise akin to potd or have a section/category in the crystal vendor that100 players can use their comm crystals on or just adding to the comm crystal vendor
wasnt sure how much i had left so my apologies for the follow up but to your credit i could see the wolf collar method viable given that its implementation fosters not just activity/participation but also improvement or at least incentive to improve, i imagine a good example being 1 collar in bronze 2 in silver and so on so forth with the particular rewards requiring varying amount to acquire e.g a mount being 500 or dare i say 1k wolf collars and each piece of gear 100 or 200 however to credit reinhardts corollary position is that the grindfest doesnt mean itd be good overall without stipulations or prerequisites
Yes I have more than the Dreadnaught. But there's no point of me showing you is there ? Since it can be faked, but here you go.

If you're asking whether I have other Feast mounts, no, because they were ugly and I didn't start playing until I saw good rewards. Actually that proves my point, I didn't care about PvP until I saw cool exclusive rewards, there are many players like me, and if I knew it was going to be released one day with Series I would never have bothered playing Feast, it's that simple.
Also look at this:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...threads/489897
People are so entitled they don't even want to do 5 Frontline matches to get a piece of furniture and just want to buy it ? Hmm ? Why exactly do they deserve previous t100 rewards exactly ? When they ain't even going to bother doing 5 Frontline matches ? The people who keep asking for previous t100 rewards just want everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. If you give in for PvP, what next, shall we allow Ultimate weapons to be grinded through Mogtomes too ? You cannot give these players ANY inch because they'll always cry for more, it's really that simple.
See, the reason why I simply wanted to see the items in item slots is because there is reasonable doubt how far one would go to fake certain things. Yes you could've still faked them, but I am at the point where I am saying "are they really putting in the effort to do that in the first place? probably not". This was a request in good faith.
You made a case, you are someone who has earned their prize and wishes to keep up the prize, I respect that. Frankly however, as someone who holds a minimum of one reward myself (minimum as this character is blatantly visible on the forums), I do not think as ill as you do regarding the option of making what we have earned available once again, if only for a very similar unlock method (i.e. high level ranked that can't be obtained just by grinding your face on a cheese grater).
At the end of the day, I do not agree with your viewpoints and I can see many who have the exclusive rewards themselves also not have an issue with rerelease, under the right conditions of course.
What's important is that we do not gauge the playerbase automatically from a place of malice and malcontent for the minority that complains about exclusivity and lives in their jealousy, but rather think about the bigger picture.
Now in regards to that thread you mentioned, I have reasonable doubts that the people who want "towels" obtained in a different way are supposed to be the same people asking for previous t100 rewards to be served for peanuts. You are running down the slippery slope fallacy here, be it either for your own amusement to see how we react to you or by simply overreacting with no necessity.
I don't have many old top 100 rewards (in fact, just one, because Feast didnt exactly keep me involved gameplay wise to continue), but I hold the opposite view. Share the mounts I say, provided some effort is put toward it, much like ultimates, since we're into ultimates comparisons. Old feast rewards demanded effort yes, but also demanded to meet some time limitations criteria, and a lower amount of available spots to seize.
Ultimates also require time ? So why the double standard ? Hmm ?
If they re-release it, it has to be t100 AND Crystal, it's that simple. Crystal is actually very easy to reach some seasons while in other seasons t100 ends at plat. Can you think of any other way to give the rewards that actually indicate skill at the same level of Feast t100 ?
anybody can sit there and spend time climbing the ranks by eventually getting that lucky streak and climbing out of gold, plat or diamond.. thats not skill dude thats you winning the RNG drop lol
on the otherhand i don't want t100 rewards when they are already reskinning and putting previous feast rewards on the series pass, they are just calling it something different after changing it slightly lol
I'm not sure why you're coming confrontational. There is no double standard as I merely pointed that your analogy with ultimates is fallacious since ultimates have no time limit, and no player pool limit. The only thing you need is to put time/effort (and skill?) into them, which was not the case with Feast. You need to input time, effort, and skill into it yes, but you also needed to do it within a restricted timeframe, and with a limited amount of available spots, which is not a constraint in ultimates at all.
If they re-release it with that model, you remove the timeframe constraint, but keep the limited pool of players. I'm not saying this is especially bad or good, just pointing out how the comparison with ultimates can come flat.
Accepting the reasoning that wintraders/cheaters existed and got top100 in the past, would mean SE failed their job to moderate/oversee the seasons properly. So it cant be that, guys. Everything was perfect.
(Especially the one time they managed to actually remove the guy from top10 after 100s of reports, but GMs still sent him the top100 rewards, which he is still wearing to this day. Real PvP chad)
" anybody can sit there and grind ultimate and eventually clear it "
" anybody can get into harvard by grinding SAT prep and test and eventually get lucky on SAT "
" anybody can become a billionaire by getting that lucky startup idea "
Oh what's that I sense ? It's copium.
Where is your t100 reward ? Hmm ?
Tell me exactly why people who want to put in no effort and soothe their own fragile egos by saying that t100 is just a grind deserves the rewards exactly ?
These people don't want to put in the work to make themselves better players. And the worst part is they will try to make themselves feel better by saying " no ! that t100 player is a wintrader ! no ! that one used a cosmetic mod so she must have cheated everything ! no ! that t100 player just grinded for thousands of hours he has no life ! "
Why do these players deserve anything exactly ? Hmm ?
And isn't it funny that these players want to make it available through Wolf Collars, something that takes zero effort because you can just AFK in Frontline (which many of them probably do) and get it eventually, but they think that is " effort " when it requires zero skill. They just want to AFK Frontlines and get t100 reward, no thanks.
...you know, either you do it without realizing or maybe this is your plan all along, but saying
is the exact kind of behaviour us other t100 players don't wish to be associated with. I am not sure what your agenda is at this point, but wishing for t100 rewards to never be rereleased is with 100% certainty not your endgame. Maybe you troll intentionally, maybe you have a sad life and this is how you handle depression. Who knows. Regardless...Quote:

Where is your t100 reward ? Hmm ?
Your behaviour is obnoxious and an outlier among t100 players and candidates. While I can't speak for others, I can speak for myself and at least assume for many others - we do not associate with your behaviour nor your stance on those rewards, especially on the "why" of it.
Actually, l think this will be a better solution than the feast's wolf collar way. 99 collars for an old feast item Or an augmented hellhound. Just like you can buy a mount With 99 totems from extreme trial. With that, There is no time gating and still demands a lot of effort.
I mean look, I get your point, but I don't agree on specifically 99/100 wolf collars as the mark to reach. A 100 wolf collars is a LOT of grinding, much more than 99 mount totems in terms of time investment, the latter even having the chance of skipping the need for 99 totems altogether. There is no such circumvention in PvP and it would make no sense to have that either.
Seriously, 100 wolf collars is a LOT more than anyone might be actively willing to grind for. At most someone who just happens to PvP alot will EVENTUALLY reach that, but I have my doubts people would actively grind this much - in fact I expect a lot more will complain over such an absurd grind that would put Eureka to shame and expect heavy nerfs of the grind requirement.
to be fair vying for a spot in the top 100 is more akin to savage or more likely ultimate (considering i once had OT going well into 20+ min....it was glorious) so im not sure if turning it into a complete grind would be beneficial considering when you look at the state of FL especially during the moogly events, i completely share your sentiment on time exclusive rewards but i also respect the time and effort it takes for an individual to make it there and i think it wont help the mode or the player to not have a reasonable means to incentivize improvement and so i think itd be appropriate for the rewards to reflect that. i think the comm crystals is a good start but should definitely be rewarding each rank tier
honestly i dont think it would be that difficult or time consuming considering the crystal to wolf collar conversion is fairly quick and if i had to hazard a guess would probably take less than a month, but regardless people would complain as provided by certain threads having an issue with the BP, now mount drops in pvp theres an interesting idea or being rewarded a mount or minion for each rank theres probably some flaws with both but all in all the comm crystals is a good start
should just add all previous seasons rewards for crystals. series rewards too. make it skip a whole expac or something but i dont see why not just adding the rewards for anyone and keeping the current stuff for anyone playing the rank mode
I don't have one because im not interested in a silly portrait frame, yes if you buckle down and actually TRY you can do all these things if you give a shit enough, but hey you don't actually care since you're obviously here to stir the pot.
Pretty sure i can just report your thread for being bait.
You can do all those things if you give a shit enough?
Alright, I'll be waiting then. Not saying that you can't, but all I'm reading right now is a lot of hot air and useless trolling so i'll be waiting and counting seasons.
You're gonna be waiting a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time because so far theres nothing worth getting from ranked atm and i value my time
EDIT:
a couple of questions you can ask yourself before investing any amount of time into the harder content;
does the reward look good? is it worth the amount of time you need to invest into it?
^^^^^^^^^^^^
if you answered no to any of these questions then you might as well not bother and just go do something else.
I myself started at the beginning of shadowbringer and only managed to get the Menoetius and Magitek Hyperconveyor and the grind of having to que every single day for the season was the worst experience in the world and honestly, as much as I want the old mounts I can't think of anything that SE can do that would make that annoying ass grind fair to those that put in the time.
Personally I think them removing fomo from ranked is partially why ranked is dead within a few weeks since the rewards you get now aren't even that impressive (imo)
Even the new series rewards don't have any appeal to them, they feel like a nothing burger with how little effort is required in order to get them with myself being able to get the final rewards in about a day or two or quing.
I wouldn't be opposed to larger grind mounts though , either taking wolf marks of a large quality since at the moment crystalls feel really bad to get outside of just using them to buy wolf marks and turn those into gc seals/ventures.
im pretty much in the same boat, hell i don't even log in unless my fc has a rp event or i need to reset my house timer.
Not enough mid-core content :l
that aside though i agree that they could just make it a longer grind or something since clearly ranked is not fun enough to keep people for long.
Honestly Give us something to use the damn Trophy Crystals on. I’ve been capped for Months and there’s nothing there that goes well in terms of gear. If I need to cap for a Mount on the other hand, I’d do it. Most people would. But really, PvP is a torture to climb in itself even with carry jobs like DRG or BLM. The previous ranked rewards can be different recolors of the same thing to make them look different, like the Aurum sas Alvina mount that everybody and their mother got butthurt about when they made that mount a PvP mount.
Why are you even posting this.. man ff14 players are weirdos
SE has made it clear recolours/reskins are not the same. So I would not be shocked if a version of those mounts don't show up somewhere. I don't like gate keeping rewards, but players that have been top 100 I don't ever see on those mounts anyways. I prefer items (mounts/gear/minnions/emotes) to be earn able by all the player base. That doesn't mean everyone gets it but everyone has a chance and a level of skill can be discussed. Titles on the other hand should be as unique and gated as possible. Other players that see titles should be able to tell what you accomplished and when. Oh you git "Rose Gold Scales in ARR" or you had "Hand of Mercy in HW" Not that new players would care, but some players might respect when you did it.
I think you should look at it differently. Sometimes just going and playing for an achievement is more enjoyable then the mode. When they destroyed 8vs8vs8 and I could no longer influence a win and forced free lancer hadn't started. I would set a goal like reach X kills, or top heals, or capture the most nodes.
I do get games can be pretty awful though. The randomness of the mode, the irregular play from other teams, three team matches, and just who you get stuck with. I see a decent amount of games with players with 15+ kills and they still don't win.
You should take a break and go do something else Towa. If you aren't having fun, it isn't worth your time. Plus, if the break is long enough there might be new rewards when you decide to come back. (Just kidding it will be the same exact rewards)
