NA FanFest Expectations?(Idea, or Hopes?)

Not nit-picking, just curious:

1) Dynamis Job seems a bit redundant - WoL uses Dynamis no matter which Job you play. That's the lore behind LB as well.

2) RDM rework? RDM is one of the more smooth and "feels good to play" Jobs right now. It needs a damage/potency increase on its abilities so it's not behind even SMN in damage, but what kind of "rework" does it need? o.O

The existing body of lore behind LBs is actually all couched in aetheric terms, where it is remarked upon anyway. Meteion's comment does hint at the WoL using dynamis to fuel it there... but it's also a locale lacking in ambient aether, so it may be they follow an either/or rule. Guess EE3 may clarify it further, but that is my expectation, especially since the ancient trusts in Ktisis Hyperboreia also can and do use LBs.

Granted, I don't think a dynamis job would add much, it functions like a fuel much as aether does, though it is the weaker of the two, and both are prone to emotional influences (e.g. see the lore added here for the NieR crossover.) It's just more of the defining characteristic for dynamis, but not unique to it. Hermes's short story featured curiosities like the sentient star (but who is to say Etheirys isn't also sentient on some level? It's an unknown...), but with aether itself being shaped by emotions to some extent, it's a case of pick a word and run with it. At least thus far, dynamis is there to allow EW's-plot-as-written to move forward, and that's the extent of it. Could they do more with it? Of course, much as they can do with aether.

Now I'm curious, what would a dynamis based job even do to warrant labeling it as such? How would it deviate from Aether based jobs in a sufficient way that you can't just look at it and be like "yeah that could just be another aether job"?

Ideally, I'd like to hear at least some info the overhaul they intend to do for Dragoon and Astro. EU and JP fanfest will primarily focus on the new jobs being released so this may be where we get something about the reworks the aforementioned two are undergoing, especially since it was slated for a mid 6.x change.

Many jobs have things alluding to using, or brushing up with dynamis.

One being largely Dancer, with its specific Drawing out of Emotion which takes form of unknown entities based on peoples emotion that is being drawn out.
[Though, in Dancer's case it's not so stated for the reasons how or why's it happens, at least in its lore/face value]

(I mostly feel current jobs when it comes to flavor and interacting/brushing with dynamis largely are the results of indirectly causing and effect. In dancers Case, causing people to expel the target emotion in such a way that it can be dealt with.)

[But again, no lore expert.]

Mechanically I imagine it's not something that any other job couldnt do, if SE cared to expand on it.
[Since were unlikely to know if SE will consider it worth investing in a new class, let alone one slightly removed from the norm. or that it may be required to break from the normal flow of combat/meta. it's all ideas with no roots.]

(The idea I threw out, simply had a Caster that flavour wise interacted with their own, and local Dynamis. Instead of indirectly, attempting/actively using it directly.

Mechanically it could lead to a Caster with many Supportive Effects <almost like a ranged, but dealing largely with MP, or linking the party with buffs.> or go fully into DPS <which then comes to question whether and how they'll flesh out the idea if they find it worth/necessary to flesh out. Unless they'd rather keep it as a Story Item.>)

[other roles would be more difficult to fit into our expectations of jobs(/molds of how they should fit. Unless SE cares to change it up) Which Depending on how you try to look at it, it may just end up looking or being reduced to Chakra with some weapon that clearly isn't monk like. A Different kind of BLU(which just mentioning it would get people Raring to go) focused on a certain role<capable of being in content with the other jobs>. Or a Tank(Though with tanks, I imagine them as more physical/known entities. Even a Tank with Aether created weaponry seens more acceptable than one of unknown dynamis)

TLDR: while I could easily conjure up ideas, getting it to actually fit, or make sense within our current expectations of what the combat or systems should be<without any knowledge of what SE is cooking rn, or later Mechanically. Doing so would be foolish of me-cant/won't say others since it's 50/50 regardless->

So all that leaves is Flavor, or Lore.

If we knew more of dynamis, i feel it would be easier to plant an idea of what role it could be or what it would entail.
[For now its a rootless idea one can just throw ideas into. Depending on the role it's designed for. Caster being the easiest to find tolerable, or "Knowable"]

I'm hoping for that but not expecting it. I would gladly accept an MSQ 40% shorter than Endwalker in exchange for them spending more time on non-MSQ stuff. Just let us advance through all the remain GC ranks up to champion, it's been a decade. They don't need to create massive new content for it. Just some story quests, some objectives which might include frontlines matches and squadron stuff. Add more materials to buy at the GC shop because it's still almost entirely ARR stuff like coke and wootz. Add a champion glam set. That covers most of it. Get this stuff out of the way.

What I expect from fan fest is more of the usual stuff. They will tease some of the new locations and outline the story theme. Yoshida might wear a t-shirt with a clue about the next job, saved for full reveal at London fan fest. They might tease a new type of content, like they did with Island Sanctuary long before it arrived in post-expansion patches.

Don't worry.
1) You can use anything in place of Dynamis. I just would like to see a new job based on a new form of energy, i don't see how they can creatively create a new job with our current system of aether or elements. Pretty much every job use it in many different ways.

2) RDM before 31-50 mana sucks. Feel slow to build it up outside of buffs. I reach my burst phase faster with BLM than RDM.

You know what I think would be cool? A Realm Revisited. At least half of its zones are back home in Eorzea to bring things full circle as we reach lv100 and celebrate a decade since ARR. West Shroud is back. An eastern part of Coerthas (now without snow because some aetherial event) is back. A subterranean zone beneath Mor Dhona is uncovered along with the mysterious entity beneath Silvertear Lake, once guarded by Midgardsormr. The other zones could be around Ilsabard and Othard, like Corvos. Don't need to leave The Three Great Continents yet.

Most don't, and have no reason to. Most of us aren't perpetually pessimistic and like what the game's offering, so we don't have to lower our expectations at all. We note that the Fanfests will do what the ones in the past have done, which was plenty for us back then, too.

Hm, can't say I see it. I enjoy the pendulum back and forth of it. I wouldn't like the Job if it was just constant Burst over and over again. Like if you removed the filler and it was constantly 1-2-3-Holy/Flare-Scorch-Resolution - 1-2-3-Holy/Flare-Scorch-Resolution - 1-2-3-Holy/Flare-Scorch-Resolution, etc, that doesn't sound fun to me, it sounds...exhausting, lol. Not to mention it would diminish the dopamine hit of the burst if it WAS the filler. You also get from 31-50 mana in, what, 3-4 GCDs?

Maybe I'm mistaking your argument, but it seems like you're saying you'd just like the filler spells to be removed. That'd be like if BLM got rid of all its Ice spells and just was always using Fire spells and didn't have to swap to Ice for MP. I feel like some people might enjoy that, but a lot of people would feel lit a downgrade.

I think my only major issue with RDM is that Enchanted Reprise is just an outright damage loss and generally bad to use, and that the AOE rotation just feels backwards to me from the single target. I'd rather Impact be the Jolt equivalent and it's backwards which just bugs me for some reason. I also wish the healing was more usable somehow, but I feel like in general this game has too many non-Healers doing healing, so the cost/trade-off to using it is probably where it should be. It just needs a potency/damage boost.

Agree this would be pretty cool. I think WoW doing Cataclysm was a problem because the zones were too scattered so it didn't feel very cohesive, but I did like that it had people moving through the old world more. I'd love them to do West Shroud, Eastern Coerthas, and the mystery of Silvertear, but I don't think that should be the entire expansion. Personally I think the best way would be to have a few of those revisited zones, but also to have several connected zones somewhere else that we also go to (maybe Corvos + Dalmasca since those could be part of a connected region, like Doma is to Azem Steppe and Ruby Sea?)

Realistically since Dev team never change, based off of HW/SB/SHB first Fan Fests. Teaser CGI Trailer + Expansion name, 1 or 2 of 7.0 zones shown, maybe a tribe, whatever first job be seen at EU shirt tease from Yoshida.

The one thing I am going to go out on a limb and speculate is that they are going to have a soft restart of the game in 7.0, which would explain why the post 6.0 content is so minimal as they are making a new launch experience. Character model is where I put all my hopes into. Because SE has been so stuborn when it comes into job design, raid design and gearing system. They are very rigid in those areas. Granted, changing them will require a huge amount of investment. Whereas you can outsource 3d modellers or have AI help you with it.

the problem with redmage is not how it plays now. the problem is they need room to add new things to it.right now there are several jobs hitting a wall right now or in the next expansion

I personally would like to see the option for those who want it. They can continue to bake in predetermined lighting into the game and then add an option for ray-traced lighting/GI/reflections/etc. for computers that can handle it, it really shows a difference when indoors or in caves where lighting bounces around a lot as opposed to being outside for example, but still, would love for them to offer it!
