Yes, this was my point.

Something tells me that you left out a lot of details so that you look better than you were at that moment.
Oh sod of with this 'Oh why are people so mentally fragile' bullcrap. You want to troll, you can do it without being a bully or a jerk. Have some pride in your trolling! Sheesh! Perople are really trying to hard to be the new edgy bad boy of the forum.
No idea where you meet those people or how you trigger them, I rarely see these issues? if at all?
Is this a NA thing?
Good thing I’m on EU
Funny how when healer, tanks and dps aren't picking up the slack and you call them out it's harrassing but if you slack off on your irl job and get called out I am sure you pick up your slack. If you are doing terrible you should be called out because a dose of reality is as good as any medicine and makes you focus again. So next time if you are doing terrible instead of crying that your feelings were hurt find out why you are doing terrible with your skills and how you can improve upon it
Whining on the forums is also fragility m8

People who complain about the playerbase being so mentally fragile are so mentally fragile.
If you can't handle playing with other people who don't conform to what you want them to do with their game time then maybe you should stick to single player games.
A chat filter is not a license to swear like a sailor.Quote:
They over moderate chat, and swearing in a game with literal chat filters is enough for them to hand out account warnings
Well it's easy really: ToS are so vague that if you say something that goes against the ToS you can get into trouble, since it defends laziness.
Had a similar scenario when I was playing my WHM in Haukke Manor NM: this tank wouldn't keep aggro on all enemies because they didn't use aoe. No aoe, no Aggro. No aggro, dead healer. Dead healer, dead group.
So I kindly asked to do more aoe damage so that I wouldn't die instantly and the tank's friend was all like "they're new, chill". I replied "It's literally just one button".
And the sad part is, I was in the wrong so I couldn't say anything else, since I was starting to "compel playstyle" and that's a reportable offense. In the end I think we got through the dungeon but this is just non-sense: why is asking a tank to press one button such a big deal?
Well I don't care: if someone does the same to me now, I'll make sure to report them for compelling playstyle. Not because I'm offended, but because it's in the rules. Gotta follow the rules you know, and I'm a good rule-abiding player!
If you put so much "effort" into your hobby, that it equates to a JOB in your head...that's unhealthy. And most folks put varying levels of effort into their hobby. It's always this stupid binary black and white "There are only two options. Utter dogshit lazy. And super hardcore uber pro. NOTHING INBETWEEN!" with some folks...
I see we are participating in the time-honored tradition of complaining about people being snowflakes. Here's the thing - unless someone specifically asks for it, nobody wants to hear your feedback. Chances are, the person *knows* they messed up and the last thing they need is you pointing it out. I'm fine with it now but there was a time when I was much younger and your actions would upset me. I have anxiety, learning a new role or job is extremely stressful. Maybe this person was the same.
Yeah i bet the cure 3 spamming WHM bot KNOWS they are doing something wrong and they just decide to press the Cure 3 button instead of using Cure 2 instead. You are really detached from reality if you think most bad players know they are bad when everyone carries them to endgame and noone says a word.
Wait, you guys are getting paid for this? Cause that's the tradeoff for not slacking off in my IRL job. I get to keep my paycheck.
Also if we wanted to go with the IRL job comparisons, calling someone out in an unprofessional manner is going to land you in HR's office.
This thread has a lot of fragile people
I check back in. And I just have the words of a wise, wise man pop into my head. The words of a true visionary. A man so ahead of his time, his words will inspirie people for generations to come.
That man being!
THAT MAN BEING!

Calling out somebody for underperforming - Toxic
Just remember, the toxicity only exists because people choose to underperform and drag everyone else down with them.
If you can't take feedback or advice without having a mental breakdown, MMO's most likely are not the right genre for you.
It never fails to amuse me how people always humor trolls and their threads, but then again I highly doubt it's involuntary and more on purpose due to boredom maybe?
Take the forums for example, it's the opposite of the game with minimal moderation and troll threads as far as the eye can see. I forget which generation are we in, is it titanman? skiros? or the guy who quits every update? (keep forgetting how to write his name).
Hard to tell, since they're all one and the same really. (More ironic coming from someone playing female au ra, I know)
I think a big part of why threads like these get going is people are looking for any excuse to vent their issues. They KNOW the thread is a troll, but who cares if it lets them say what they want to say? I've said it before though, a single moderator that spent 10 hours a week on these forums could wreck titanmen's alt career very quickly, and would shut down 90% of the troll threads in this forum instantly.
Just need to point out, when you agree to the ToS, you straight up agree that you will not swear in-game. The chat filter is there so that people who do break the rules they agreed to won't potentially expose others (probably minors in particular) to the language they're using. But you still explicitly agree to the terms that say swearing is a no-go.
Also, for the record, I've been in plenty of DF dungeons where people are plenty sociable and we carry on a conversation throughout the run. Speech isn't "heavily restricted" - just don't be a jerk. It's not that hard.
People don't always "choose" to underperform. People newer to the game (or heck, just to a particular class) will likely not perform as well as experienced players. People with disabilities or whose mental or physical acuity has declined can still be playing their very best and yet "underperform."
Personally, I think the direct response to your last sentence is that FFXIV is exactly the proof that you are wrong - it shows a game can be very successful in the MMO genre while cracking down hard on toxicity and insisting its playerbase show basic civility to each other.
I do, however, find it very interesting the kind of people who fall on certain sides of debates like this and also where they fall with FFXIV and EW in general.
Its really a matter of perspective. Many of the changes that Yoshida decided to go with may have broadened the appeal of the game to a wider audience. So you might come across those types that mainly solo that want to try things out with others and aren't used to wall-to-wall pulls as a healer (even in low-level dungeons) etc.
Classic stormy YET AGAIN misrepresenting what someone is saying. Literally NOWHERE did they say "let me stay bad"...the post boils down to "stay in your lane and help when asked". That's all they're really saying.
Also for people that complain the game is to easy, why then are yall complaining about bad players. If the content is so braindead why do bad players matter?
because they're an eyesore, it's like watching a human landfill in front of your eyes for 15 minutes in the dungeon. and no one says a thing as the party list shows them casting cure iii over and over again
i'll keep offering unsolicited advice tyvm
you think snowflake players will ever ask on their own initiative? lmao
when people like you say "only offer advice when asked" it's = "never offer advice" because these bad players will never ask
beneath the surface though a lot of people agree with me. i actually get more comms on dps when i call out bad healers even when no one else said a word. sadly people are too afraid of offending the mentally fragile in this game.
Is the content getting cleared? Because if so your input isn't needed. Also as the "strong" person you claim to be seeing bad or underperforming players shouldnt bother you right? Calling these people landfills tells me how you probably go about adressing these people in game, and with that I'm not shocked people don't receive you well.
I've had to tell quite a few higher level whms that "Holy helps with big pull as it stuns mobs" as they weren't using it. None since my time in SB took that and got mad at me. Sure I've had a small number of them ignore but generally it's a "oh thank you", and things get better from there.
I'm a firm believer that more often than not its the approach thats the issue not solely the point out/people
Oh hold on didn't see the edit. I never once said I only give advice when asked. Hell I've said many times here before I give it when I see things going south, check my post history if you don't trust my word.
Again with the whole "snowflake" bs. Someone not wanting your input isn't a snowflake nor is someone telling you to leave em be. In my experience many don't ask for help because they've encountered asshats akin to you in the past so they dont feel comfy making that first step. Also I get comms as a dps to without even saying a word so for you to assume you get them due to callouts is funny. I guess you're saying it to further "prove" your point?
Also using the "alot of folks agree" doesn't really matter here cause I could say the same n yet you'd dismiss that. Just sayin
