Because FF high sales are not due to the "hype train", come on, be serious a minute. SE fanboys are just as bad if not worse than their Blizzard counterpart. Especially in Japan. Some people are willing to buy anything Square Enix sells, and not even games, even overpriced piece of merchandise (look a ring made of pure silver! Only ¥20,000 !)
Blizzard games are good, period. You may like or not like the direction they are taking, yet they make good games and it looks like Yoshi-P knows it as well :). Just like how offline numbered titles of FF are good RPG. It's not a matter of opinion or whatever. Liking and disliking something is irrelevant with the quality of a title. It's just like food, you can eat something made by a 3 stars chef, and not like it. It doesn't mean that the food is bad.
Finally your statement regarding "success rate" is utter non sense. Square Enix have tons of IPs and focus mainly on console gaming. Blizzard focus on PC gaming (in before Starcraft 64 lol). Just because of that, they cannot release half of the game SE can release.
While SE can release Final Fantasy the spin off of the rehash IV International Version, Blizzard only release games on one platform, PC. I don't care about the amount of IP a company have neither about the frequency of their release. What I want is the game I play to be amazing, nothing more, nothing less. Could it be Blizzard or SE. Both made games that left me with amazing memories, that is what gaming is all about.
Blizzard could literally stick a turd in a box, sell it at 50$ a pop, and still sell over a million copies. Whether D3 was a good game or not is completely irrelevant.
I'd also like to mention that Yoshi-P likes skyrim too. If he can take ANY of the positives of elder scrolls and apply it to this game, it'll be a win in my book.
Diablo 3 rocks, the game is just as grand as the other titles though I do admit the real money AH didn't work out as well as I or they probably hoped it would but the game is still a major success. Apparently you haven't really sat down and played the game without ignoring the minor setbacks and realize the game is just as solid as D1 and D2. Though a game like Diablo 3 isn't going to effect how a MMORPG runs because it is technically not an MMORPG.
i love the blizzard ruined diablo did it ever occurred to you that d1 and d2 where so awesome because back then you didn't have much choice for games compared to now? d3 is doing very well just because it didn't end up the way you hoped doesn't mean it sucked.
I play Diablo 3. I am casual to mediocre at best. I like it for what it is, I don't worry about what it is not. I have fun playing with my friends.
One of the reasons that I never stopped playing FFXIV (probably the biggest), is that I am fortunate enough to have met some awesome people both in and out of my linkshell. If not for them, I probably would have stopped playing after a few months. If you can have fun, that more important than anything else in my book. Even the quality (or lack there of) at launch. As far as I am concerned, Yoshi can fend off all the fiends of hell he wants. Heck, I'd do it with him if he doesn't mind playing with someone who can't speak Japanese.
Keep on doing what you are doing Yoshi P. If it is any consolation, I am too busy playing your game to finish my first play through of Diablo III. I'll get to it someday... :D
why you lie! http://www.facebook.com/DwayneJohnson
XD i kid..
I liked D3, for a while, then i got bored, for a while, and a while longer lol i dont like the whole "get the best loot to do.. nothing with it", so i sold all my stuff, i actually liked the rmah here cuse i made a whole lot of money lol
but yeh........... yoshi is a grown man, he plays video games, you gunna get pissy if he tells you he plays angry birds and think we'll get lalafells in catapults? come on ....
D3 is the same shit you played in D1 and D2, now it just comes with always on drm. the only thing blizzard can teach Yoshi is how to sell Millions of consumer zombies the same shit they already own over and over again.
Blizzard use to be good, they seem to simply live of the WoW fanbase nowadays.
PVP: Getting added soon enough, didn't make launch.
Offline play: Is a downer but there is online single player play and honestly how often do you not have internet on at this day and age.
RM.AH: Not the worst thing in the world because it is not an MMO so it doesn't effect the game nearly in the same way and it is 100% optional.
Hard: Saying D3 isn't hard is blasphemy.
Graphics: Great for for the type of game it is and personally don't see how they could get much better or even a need for them to do so.
Only 4 player play: More would be kind of pointless since it isn't an MMORPG.
DRM: http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/12...s-a-good-thing
Influenced by WoW: Retarded considering WoW was influenced by Diablo.
Pay to win: Gear does matter but so does player skill, you might have the best gear but you will still get destroyed in inferno if you suck. It also has no effect on you unless you are the one paying to win.
Free: Umm....
Various game modes: Various difficulties? Also has hardcore mode!?
See how I simply destroyed the logic of that supposed to be funny post. :)
They are still a great company and always giving us refreshing new things with the same great tasting formula. Why change it if isn't broken? It is also funny you say WoW players supporting it, most of the hardcore WoW players I know won't touch Diablo 3 because they are still so hooked on WoW. They bought the game but you see them playing WoW 24/7. Though the conversation isn't about the company it was simply about one of their games.
When it comes down to it either you like it or you don't, not everyone has the same tastes in things. Big effin deal. Anywho how about some 2.0 banter :D
It's been known for some time now that Yoshi-p used to play WoW, not sure what Diablo 3 has to do with this especially considering he said himself he hasn't had time to play it.
It absolutely does have an effect on you if the people you are playing with paid to win.Quote:

Then dont play with friends who pay to win?
Plus you have to pay huge amounts if you wanted to pay to win ($200/piece).
Also if you bothered to educate yourself and even knew what inferno was like, no matter what gear you have, it doesn't really play a huge role, just makes it "easier". Pre patch you got 1shotted no matter what with more than 1 player lol.
It got patched now, and is easier DUE TO THE PATCH not due to people having insane gear, with only 1 hardcore inferno win known to date prepatch.
geez let yoshi like what he likes... i cant believe this has to be said at all, this forums i tell you...
if i want to play something like diablo i still play Nox ^~^
real money AH is the worst idea ever thou,
enjoy the hordes of professional RMT working hard to hack accounts and abusing the system in every way possible.
well i guess its main goal is to get blizzard a piece of the RMT money pie from the transactions, we will see if its worth it
It's not really that bad. It needs to be tweaked, but it combats illegal RMT action and allows Blizzard to make cut in the process. If you don't like it that is your thing but I like making real money by simply playing a game without screwing over anyone else.
