I think 'personality' is the wrong word. It's more like 'he agrees with me, so I like him'. We're all like that in a way, we just don't like to admit it.

I don't get streamers. Most of the ones I've seen clips from are just shouting a lot while they play the game. Maybe I'm just the wrong personality type for that, but all the shouting gets on my nerves. To each their own, but for me, no thanks.
Not really. And I don’t appreciate you putting words in my mouth. The reason I clicked on him was because maybe he was doing something in XIV that could change my perspective about what people are doing in the game this expansion.
Imagine my disappointment when he’s doing the same most of us are in game. Nothing.
What you are doing is just pretending to understand me and speak for me so you can swing my narrative to something less credible and more easy to ignore because you like to push your own agenda.
I bet you don’t appreciate me reading you like that do you? Then don’t do it to me.
Excuse me? OP posted his opinion, mine is the exact opposite. Different people like different things. I don't have to address all of the OP's points because I don't have the same concerns as him, and I'm not here to argue with him about his OPINION on what he enjoys.
Edit: Not really worth getting into anything further with someone like this so redacted.
Endwalker as an overall expansion has been my second favorite.
That being said, the trials currently do suffer from that, but largely because this story just feels very, very filler-y, more so than usual since they don't really have that hook from previous stories in the past expansions, so I would agree for post-expansion yeah. But Zodiark and Hydaelyn were pretty fun for me. I can't say that SB or HW had that same vibe to it for the trials, especially for Thordan and Bismarck. I would say that Endsinger is a... Ehhh, problem. That whole thing would only work if we actually had the original anticipated 2 expansions rather than this crunched-up singular expansion product. Nier IMO was the absolute worst of them all, the others I feel fairly mutual on but I would probably rate them as (In terms of 24-mans): HW > ARR > EW > SB > ShB.
I agree but I don't think Endwalker is at the point of runing the game yet, its just mid as fuck
Yeah, call me a snowflake or whatever but I prefer to watch people who are more positive haha. Not necessarily about the games, I am a huge fan of the Game Grumps after all, but more just about how they interact with the world. I feel some of the more ‘angry’ streamers or YouTubers act it up a bit to get more attention, but that could be said about every who develops a fandom, and if people like them then each to their own.
In regards to FFXIV, the only streamer I watch is Jesse Cox, because he seems like a cool dude and I like his other content too.
I prefer positive streamers too. I pretty much only listen to MTQCapture's trial guides, as she does a nice succinct summary of what to look for when I'm learning content, and Pathra's FFXIV Drama Story time as she does like the game and her takes on "drama" is more entertaining and light hearted than mean spirited. I used to listen to Zepla on occasion as well before she shifted focus to a new game as a lot of her videos were positive at the time. Her speaking style was a little grating to some people in my household though so I'd have to lower the volume lol.
Hilarious, you don't even deny that's what you were doing. I guess I wasn't twisting anything then it's just the flat out truth that's what you were up to. Have fun misrepresenting others but I will call you out on it when you do it to me.
I enjoy positive streams when they are not disingenuous about it. Too often I see "happy" streamers force a smile because that's their brand and not something they are genuinely feeling.
Mm possibly. I don't watch him enough to know that's what he does. Either way though it would be besides the point because the quote I recalled him on this thread wasn't an angry one. He turned his stream on while I was on twitch and he was just responding to someone in chat asking about XIV in a very matter of fact way.
But yeah, outrage gets tiring too. I would likely get bored of watching him if that's all he does.
This is highly debatable, ARR and all the expansions have had their blunders and lots of them but I agree that EW takes the cake. This expansion just feels so lackluster and phoned in. Had to rush to "solve" all unsolved mysteries of the game and none of it got the effort it deserved. I thought base Stormblood had a disappointing MSQ but EW is on a whole another level with its awfulness. I wish the void got its own expansion instead of being relegated to patch fodder, Golbez and the four fiends feel forced for the void too, should have used something from III or V. If only they hadn't used Exdeath and a bunch of his minions as cheap fan service for Omega... Or you know, make something original.
Also I really don't understand how people like the Myths of the Realm raids. They're absolutely pitiful. So shallow and pointless, the mechanics are boring, they're literally just rushing through the gods, couldn't even give Nymeia her own fight. Why are we even fighting them? It feels so lazy, could have come up with an interesting story for saving the gods from the depths of hell or whatever since they clearly haven't been around but instead we're just sparring with all of them because... they find it amusing? I just can't even...
I've talked to the point of exhaustion about the content focus being all wrong this expansion with moving focus to one and done content over longevity so I won't get into that again but yeah, this expansion is the worst one by far. Shadowbringers already felt like a barren wasteland in terms of content but the amazing base MSQ carried the whole expansion, EW certainly didn't even manage that much.
I literally just watched Xenos reaction to the patch notes and his 'character' stems from kissies!! Kissies! to WHERES DA BEARD and that's it. He moaned about so many things but he doesn't do treasure hunts, hunt trains, crafting, gathering, PvP, Island Sanctuary..so seeing a guy say he's bored when he partakes in such a small aspect makes me laugh. Should the game give more to do sure...but if you're unwilling to engage in all aspects of the game...you have less basis to moan because the devs have to try and cater to multiple demographics.
...you didn't address any of it. You just shot in here with your own agenda to make a (very tired) point with absolutely no interest in anything OP had to say, and it comes across as very childish.
Edit: ...and you respond to that by refusing to address what was said yet again and shutting yourself off from what you don't want to hear. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
I can't help but feel at some point he's going to be left talking to a paper plate on a stick with "ENDWALKER WAS GOOD" written on it, but to each their own.
You made me realise I actually feel nostalgic for Stormblood. To think this is where we are...
I will absolutely maintain original Asahi is one of the best villains of FFXIV, though.
I will never understand how you all can say profit-maximizing firm like it's an insult.
They are a business. They are not here for charity, they are here to make a profit. They will never put you or your opinion first unless it's an opinion that makes them profit even more and/or they risk losing serious business by ignoring you, and you should be grateful for this, because more profit means more game. More forum on which to complain too.
If you think they are being too greedy and not investing enough in giving back fun for what you are paying, feel free to hit them in the only way that counts: that cancel subscription button.
You keep saying this, yet you are the one who says they are only here for housing.Quote:
I love how it's always the ones that literally dont play the game
I am wondering if Yoshi and the senior dev team are trying out all of the junior devs to see how things go while they are away at FF16.
I know Yoshi is looking for people who can fill his role if he had to withdraw due to health or other factors.
I am hoping that they are actually spending all of these vast dev resources on finishing the duty support and making 7.0 the rumored new restart point for the game. New players could start in 2.0 or 7.0. This is my hope and it would explain the way things are. If not… I am deeply worried for this game.
Again. FF 16 is finished. Done. Ready to ship.Quote:

This repeated meme that they have neglected 14 for 16 is getting...silly. And old.
I've been nostalgic for Stormblood since halfway into Shadowbringers, because the gameplay didn't make me fall asleep in 90% of the content yet.
As someone more interested in the pve gameplay that I'm supposed to engage with all the time instead of one and done story I think Shadowbringers wasn't any better than Endwalker, what makes people remember Shadowbringers more fondly is that the plot wasn't the literary equivalent of swiss cheese.
The complete disaster that was the healer rework (and arguably also Dark Knight), removal of multiple tank mechanics, trials with unnecessarily long cutscenes in the middle of it, Alliance Raids that make you wonder if it's even possible to wipe and the start of pursuing the lowest common denominator in terms of overall job and content design all happened in that expansion.
What makes me dislike Endwalker is that it doubled down on design decisions that I already hated back in Shadowbringers, it's simply another 2 years of the same.
Cool OP. EW is my favorite. We all have opinions none more correct than anyone else's in this case. Hope 7.0 has more of what you're looking for
Shadowbringers was probably my favorite, followed by Heavensward. Mostly because they were both telling one story at a time, not trying to tell two and getting one of them over-condensed.
