Am I misreading or was this worded improperly? It already doesn't cost a prism to cast a glamour from the dresser, only to store something.

I have no comment on the patch notes. 6.4 is kind of underwhelming for me personally since I don't care about savage raiding or BLU. But this:
Spitting facts tbh. The cosmetic side of things has been sorely lacking and player made content makes up for it in a big way. Even if most of it is just ported from other games, it's still... stuff. Customization stuff. That people are desperately craving. Just saying, SE, if you don't want cosmetic modders having a foothold in your game, maybe step it up, idk. Even from just a moneymaking perspective, this game's full of missed opportunities for the company. If I were in charge of this department, I'd legit just sell a school uniform set that was actually form fitting, and came with a plaid skirt option and some leggings or pantyhose or something to go underneath. The top might be a cute cardigan or something, and it'd all be dyeable. The actual "top" part would consist of the cardigan and the skirt; the "bottom" would just be the pantyhose. In this way, players who obtained this set could mix and match pantyhose into their existing sets since people have been low key wanting this for a while. Then I'd put it in the shop as a giga bundle for 50 dollars and proceed to make enough money to make the game free to play for years if I wanted to. There'd be an option for males as well and it'd be a cute af blazer set or something, but men could also buy the skirt if they wanted, and vice versa.
Like seriously, they clearly don't care about keeping any kind of coherent fantasy theme anyway (we have sweaters, cars, flying balloons, polka dot swimsuits, etc) so they might as well give people what they want. And this is me taking the cynical moneymaking approach. In a "Right thing to do" kind of sense, you're a damn buy to play subscription based game that offers nothing for months at a time. Doing better would mean literally lifting a finger. All this cash shop cosmetic shit should be in the base game.
"After a ready check is completed, a sound effect dependent on the result will now play."
That won't be abused, no, of course not.
Added some new QoL stuff, which is nice. As for the rest of the patch, it's all the same. But then again, I can't say I have ever felt super excited to play a patch. Definitely not to the extent that I book off work. Not even for EW. So I don't feel any more or less than I usually do for a patch.
New iLVL is nice. I always do like getting stronger.
I will say, I am slightly disappointed that we didn't get any new hair. But c'est la vie, I suppose.
Can we please stop adding capes to everything and ruining perfectly good armor designs?
They move like jank, look like jank, clip into tails like jank and we have them on both the tomestone and raid gear this time...
That "modern legend" on hrothgar has to be a joke. Who approved that? It looks so unfinished from behind.
Been that way for a long while now. In my friend circle, we used to make a big deal about Live Letters and plan to hop on zero hour. None of us even bother with the LLs any more, partly because of how... dull Endwalker has felt but also due to how often they talk about seemingly nothing for so long. Belts anyone? Patch wise, a friend of mine still likes to zero hour odd patches for 24 man shenanigans and I want to jump on the gil machine for day one crafting but otherwise, I wouldn't really care. I'll do the EX for Savage prep but I'm not "excited" the way I used to be.
This whole expansion has felt really meh for me.
Actually, it was Viera that were originally intended. Hrothgar were always planned in an effort to attract players who prefer beastial races. According to Yoshida, it was a very often made request from players coming in from other games. They pivoted to Viera because the fanbase wouldn't stop asking for them. Hence why we had the gender slip. It was their attempt to cater towards both sides. Which... didn't work out nearly to the extent they likely hoped.
As for the face design. The dev team admitted both Hrothgar and Viera use a different model entirely. It was supposedly to give Hrothgar better features or something to that effect. They didn't account for how difficult porting existing gear and hairstyles would actually be nor the demand from players for it.
They're just not built to suit some human hairstyles. The devs didn't intend to make them compatible with standard hairstyles, and this sort of fitting issue is probably why – but if they skipped over it because they know it doesn't fit well, people would complain that they were dodging work and neglecting Hrothgar again.
So last PvP mount was recolour. New PvP mount is almost identical to a mount in game already. I would have to look but bed mount looks close to old bed. That is just stuff I noticed. Sure they have other reused assets I am missing.
Add a Feo Ul glamour and I'll actually learn how to play scholar.
ESO: We heard you like Indrik mounts, so here are some more Indrik mounts in 10 different colors! Oh, you wanted to collect a mount in a single event? That's not possible.

I bet they dumbed the SB dungeons down for the duty support npcs
Carby might not have been as wanted as a Feo Ul or always Seraph glamor. But there definitely were some. Just now Scholars can technically be correct in saying that their carby still does stuff. I hope now with this change it will mean we get more egi/fairy glamors in the future. Rip Selene though. I'd summon her just so she felt some kind of love.
Funny you should mention that. I debated about typing how the 1.0 team got shit on for copy/pasting and reusing too many assets. Truthfully while they have always brought stuff back, this expansion feels the worst. It could just be huge amount of time between patches, servers being extra quiet, or a combination of other things.
I keep seeing people moan about hrothgar and viera getting """""""new""""""" hair options thinking there isnt one this patch or whatever.
Last patches new hair was in 6.35.
The only new hairs we've had in a good while that released on the patches drop were the island styles.
Also Id imagine they just wont make new Character Creation hair options til hroth and viera are totally caught up/mostly caught up.
Eos is my favorite but now that Selene is gonna be gone as a glamour it's time for schs to use her before the final day

copium
that's what they said about sb and shb too
lmao why would they step it up
businesses care about profit, not revenue. making more glams incur costs and increase revenue, but letting modders to all their job for them decrease cost drastically, it's higher profits in the end.
it's like why so many games are so horribly optimized, like jedi: survivor. they do it because the gains in GPU tech from the rtx 40-series do not benefit just the customer. they allow businesses to exploit the gains to lower their cost of optimization and still maintain the same benchmark of 60fps (and still miss it anyways lol)
same thing here. modders allow SE to maintain the same "quality" of the product without investing that much into making things better. they're only paying lip service and implementing some third party features into the game right now and probably so that Sony, who probably isn't as informed as SE and the players are, thinks SE is committed to bridging the gap.
i'm pretty sure they genuinely don't care about third party tools and the numerous chastisements are PR to make it seem like they care a bit about cheating. they probably decided long ago in shb to follow the bethesda playbook and exploit free labor to increase the value of their product

I realize that some people who “play to have fun” and who currently form the majority of players have voiced their reservations toward these new trends, and understandably so. However, I believe that there will be a certain number of people whose motivation is to “play to contribute,” by which I mean to help make the game more exciting. Traditional gaming has offered no explicit incentive to this latter group of people, who were motivated strictly by such inconsistent personal feelings as goodwill and volunteer spirit. This fact is not unrelated to the limitations of existing UGC (user-generated content). UGC has been brought into being solely because of individuals’ desire for self-expression and not because any explicit incentive existed to reward them for their creative efforts. I see this as one reason that there haven’t been as many major game-changing content that were user generated as one would expect.
Unless there's something huge they're leaving out of the preliminary notes (I doubt it), this patch is going to be pretty underwhelming outside of the raids. It's a shame, I had started to build up some genuine hope for this patch. If this patch flops as hard as 6.3 did, 6.x will have truly been one massive disaster.
Well, the "6.4 will be better" copium seems to have failed, so I suppose it's about time for me to get on the 7.0 copium.
At the rate we're going, Island Sanctuary should be good content for the game by 8.4
I mean the writing was on the wall back in Feb 2022 when they did their 10 year plan live letter and basically gave a rundown of the 6.X patch cycles for the most part so I am not sure what people really expected outside of the norm. There is nothing here that is different to other patches in other expansions so I am not sure the issue here. Especially in the 'first half' of the patch, then again sadly the only thing il give you is the 6.45 patch will likely be met with disdain due to the relic is tomes path again occurring and a possible 'no reason to run the new variant dungeon' thread.
Shb had some fair share on QoL, but the main thing was the ARR Rework. However its not copium my dear troller that this patch cycle and expansion have released absolutely loads of QoL to the game system wise, UI wise etc etc. I feel even if I made a comparative post it wouldn't fit your narrative so I will just leave it there.
Only if they massively buff the EXP gain so you're not stuck for days waiting for your mammets to churn out enough EXP to level you up.
It annoys me so much that playing with the Spreadsheet of Doom earns you so much more EXP than actually engaging with your farm and gathering.
It's a slow grind, doesn't get easier on alts and they're locking so much glamour and things behind it.
In the gathering section I was adding ways to engage the animal and gather components differently, to empower gathering- personally had no issues with the exp side but that might be feedback to add.. when I get back into the states if someone hasn't beat me to it.
I had honestly powered through to rank 12 in like three weeks, a few times by brute forcing it and planning out visions and building rewards. Though through the experience I didn't like how it quickly became disengaged content. So I'd love to see suggestions on how to make it engaging for longer.
Selene isn't going away exactly, it's just there won't be separate summon buttons. If you like Selene's model, you can egi-glamour to her instead (or Carby - I bet this means all four colors of Carby, too)
The RGB slider thing may actually have future relevance if it's related to the graphics rework to hit with 7.0. Not sure if it is, mind you, but if it is, that could be why they're doing it now, to set that groundwork.
Lots of neat stuff in this patch. I'm still annoyed we have no Exploration Zone or actual Relic grind this expansion, though... but I am excited for the story. I'm sure it will be neat though with nothing exceptionally interesting (we already know we're going to the 13th to fight Golbez, the question is just the details of how exactly we get there and so on), though I suspect there will be the "7.0 hook" twist at some point, probably something unexpected as we finish the last quest in the series to set up 6.5 and the bridge to 7.0. Also interested to see the conclusion of the Pandaemonium story and what we end up learning of/doing with Laha and Elidibus.
So some good stuff, even if it's not as good as I might like it to be.
100% agree.Quote:

The interfaces have been refined.
This
will be extremely helpfulQuote:
The layout of the retainer exploration venture window has been adjusted to include a search feature and a venture history.
Gear sets can now be used from the beginning of the game.
Will be useful, especially for new players
Again, for new players this will be a godsend.Quote:
A guide on using gear sets has been added to the gear set list.
How long have we been asking for this?Quote:
When changing to a newly acquired job, players can now choose whether or not to transfer hotbar/cross hotbar settings from their associated class.
I have loved EW, the work the team has put in has been..immense.
