I love weddings! Am I invited?

Doesn't really matter what I want, we already know what we're getting.
The best we can hope for is meaningful updates to the barebones systems they added already. Don't make the same mistakes with Criterion and Variant, make them more replayable, make the savage meaningful, but lower the normal to extreme level as this game desperately needs more mid level content.
Make the remaining updates to Island Sanctuary more than +2 Levels, random materials, new mount. Outdoor Furniture is a good start but we need more to it than just that.
Not even average players seem to be happy though, if Crystal's PF is anything to go by, the content drought has been really rough and the only things that are remotely alive is night club venues. Midcore and average player content is minimal too, but hey, anything to drag on endgame players right?
The only one who would be happy is like, what, the 10 players still going through ARR-SHB with 9 years of content? The surge of new players from EW have either completed the content at this point, or quit the game lol.
I think it's kinda telling in its own way that an entire data center's PF can be dead because they all jumped ship to one server lol. I don't really think it changes what I said because even when DC travel just opened, Crystal's PF wasn't in *that* bad of a shape.
Yes, and this was pre crossword pf. My point is, people will move to where the perceived "best" is. It's why crystal is where the rpers tend to gather, and Gilgamesh is directly responsible for the perception that aether is the raiding DC.
Cross-world killed server communities, and cross datacenter kills any reason to stay on your own outside of housing and free companies.
Ah yeah, okay yeah I can get what you're putting down.
I think for me, I think the problem lies with this--if it was truly a lot of people playing the game as they say, I don't think the impact of DC travel would hit as hard as it does, IMO. Sure, there would be a noticeable hit, but not as bad as peak time on a Friday night, PF has maybe ~50-70 parties total, compared to how it was sitting at 110-120+ before DC travel. Like I said, I realize the raiding scene wasn't exactly popping on Crystal, but it wasn't like wringing a towel for its water. Seeing the decline of Crystal's PF just makes me wonder why people look at Dynamis with "it's totally alive, look!! just give it a chance!" when DC travel has totally put a thumb on a hole of ANY chance for it to you know.. start thriving.
The days of organising Eureka NM trains, the social aspected combat experience in the game, a thing of the past now :(
People would rather get more solo content that forces non-interaction with other players than play a real MMO.
We really are turning into an IMVU simulator.
Of course the Endwalker defenders made an appearance here, the yes men who allowed and cheered on this game's decline will have nobody to blame but themselves for where it ends up in the future. All that is left is for Hiroi to do something out of left field with the ending to Pandaemonium like making Themis Venat's son for me to purge everything FFXIV-related from my computer.
They threw the story away.
They threw the content away.
And we're made out to be bad guys for speaking out against this state of affairs.
Enough's enough. We tried and failed to save a sinking ship, but with the current captain intent on burning every bridge he's built over the past 10 years my trust in this game's future is in the deep negatives until proven otherwise. Hope the burgers and dancing rodents were worth it.
The issue with DC travel was letting people have too much freedom. Things like MB access, duty finder and treasure hunts/hunt trains should be locked if you are not on your home datacenter. The other option to locking these activities is giving you downsides to doing them outside of your home world, like Dungeons giving -50% experience to incentivize doing these activities on your own DC.
DC travel should only allow grouping for Raids, Extreme trials and Roleplaying.
Talk about a savior complex. Of course everything you like and want in a game is the only way for it to be good and people liking anything else is just them accepting mediocrity or poor quality. You must have the finest taste and the best ideas, if only they would listen to you and follow your direction solely without hesitation, then I am sure the game would soar to unheard of heights passing all other titans of industry.

Stinkmeaner is at again. Dude if you dont like this game, why do you even play it for. You can go to do some Genshin or play WoW.
The thing is that he is right on certain points.
The game is becoming very stale.
If you voice your opinion, you are immediately swamped by the casual playerbase screaming at you to go play WoW or other MMO's.
The average players are scared that any change to the game might force them to actually have to get off their ass and put some effort into playing the game, like you used to have to.
I will agree that the gearing system is just plain tired at this point, and a new way of obtaining or improving gear is desperately needed. I do no think that all aspects of the game need to cater to my wants and I do no think that the game is a complete failure for not aligning with all of my interests. I also remember XIV still being called baby's first MMO back in ARR or HW, it never had the reputation for being incredibly complex. I also don't remember jobs being wildly intense or cerebral, they all still had a strict rotation you followed and bosses had a script they followed.
Yes.
If people actually listened to those of us that were like woah, 4 month patch cycles are absolutely not ok, relic steps and zones should follow the pacing of Stormblood back when this game's content rollout was indisputably at its peak, and lets not do insane things to the story like destroying most of the universe and blowing the budget on food animations then yeah you'd take out a huge chunk of the criticisms levied at Endwalker.
I have spelled out word for word what they needed to do to fix this game's problems and all they've done is double down. While sectors of the playerbase lash out at me for criticizing their perfect game. So be it.
Do you see why I don't normally take the time to respond to takes like this? By all means please continue misrepresenting me, but these sort of gotcha takes do nothing to help the game.
Already have across the 2,043 posts I've made on this forum. Go read them.
Nope, wrong answer. Still the best MMO, still better than WoW, go play other games, etc. Also...

I mean, you do act a Lil like a twat so I don't really blame them. We have 4 month patches so the devs arent so stressed and can have more vacation time, which im all for.
When they did eureka people complained so they made bozja more accessible and ppl complained so they retired it for a expac.
If you truly believe that they blew the budget on food animations you need help, full stop, cuz that's peak dumb mentality. Also the universe isn't destroyed as 1, meteion released the souls back revitalizing it and 2, pupu proves there's still stars that have life.
That's funny, I just completed the last Variant path a week or two ago, haven't even touched Criterion or IS yet, and that's just from this expansion. Still going for my last ARR relic weapon (NIN), Sightseeing Logs for multiple expansions, leveling crafters and gatherers...methinks you need to learn the meaning of the word "literally," because your use of it conflicts entirely with reality.
Also, the very nature of an MMO is that the developers provide the tools, and the community makes use of them to create the full experience. It sounds more like you're looking for a true single-player game. Me? I'm very much enjoying EW and its patches, and I find most of the stuff added to be fun.
Ok let's have a hypothetical X.Y and X.Y5 patch.
X.Y releases with the following:
MSQ
Raid
Extreme Trial
Beast Tribe
PVP rewards
Unique armorsets for Dungeon and Crafted gear instead of them being recycled
Treasure Maps
X.Y5 releases with the following:
Restoration Step for Crafters and Gatherers
Relic Step w/Zone or raid akin to Delubrum Reginae that isn't just a tome grind (1st zone released no later than the .25 patch)
Release of/Addition to rewards for Deep Dungeon
I will not be taking the time to simplify things to this degree for you again.
So you want to add 5 new beast tribes every expansion then as well as 5 new treasure maps, as well as 5 new zones or raids tied to relics, but no alliance riads? I also don't see any savage raids on this list, I am assuming the MSQ part includes a new dungeon, but no new side dungeons or anything then either. I guess also no new crafting recipes other than those related restoration steps.
