You don't have to pay for it, though. I'm not, and I don't feel cheated. I have plenty of mounts already in the game that I never use without feeling any need to go outside of it to buy more.

Wow it's like people forget where things like these umbrellas come from. From a different version of the games' store that's ran by again a different team then the dev team. Even our store is ran by a different section. I'm sure this will all be forgotten or willfully ignored when Moonfire Faire rolls around. Also the moogle tome events always run right before a major patch drops. I swear some of you definitely chose to be willfully ignorant about things just so you can have yet another thing to complain about.

It really baffles the mind that we can't be dissatisfied because it's made by a different team lol or that it's optional, or that it was made in a different time. It doesn't excuse the laziness. It's literally the pod animation with a fashion accessory with some cartoon effects thrown in, apparently that's effort. Just as much effort as the undyable onesies in the store

Excuse you, yoship had to personally explore the abandoned mines below the headquarters to painstakingly drag the switch to make an item account wide to the surface. He will have to do so again for the next mount. It's back breacking work, you arm chair devs wouldnt understand. /s

When I feel like I'm not getting my money's worth out of the sub, I'll leave, just like I did WoW and a few other games. My friends are their own people and can make their own decisions. I just can't be bothered to get upset about the cash shop full of optional cosmetics. It's hilarious to me how every time something goes up on the shop, there's another thread about how people are so mad about it.

What gives you the impression that mounts should be account wide by default? Players are not forced to create alts by any means, and they create them on their own volition. Also, elaborate on how cash shop mounts are a scam.

You see, scams are typically exploits from con-artists who trick people into thinking they need something they actually don't. Examples would be diet pills, get-rich-quick schemes, masters degrees, and needing to watch the Captain Marvel movie before viewing Endgame. There is nothing that should make you feel like you need an umbrella mount, especially with the view point you have being it's just a "pod animation". By my own example, the hypotetical 10 billion dollar yarn is also not claiming to be anything other than a piece of yarn, yet most people would call that a scam, because the moment you put a pricetag on something you create the implication that's the item's genuine worth, if you agree that to be the case, then you are also agreeing that the seller isn't the only person who can define the worth of a product, which in turn means any given potential buyer can decide, by their own definitions and perceptions, if they think something to be a scam or not.

What I am trying to get across is that it isn't an absolute "it either is or isn't" situation, it's going to vary by people's perceptions, and a lot of people in this thread seem to perceive it as such.

Personally, I do think it's overpriced, and I don't buy the "oh it's account-wide" point if they don't give me the option to buy it for a single character, at that point the "account-wide" isn't a boon, it's being enforced and I gain no benefit from it.

What gives YOU the impressions, things shouldnt be an account wide? Its DIGITAL product for real money in a monhly paid game. We should kinda expect a PREMIUM services for our money at that point. You know, some people play on different datacenters. Like EU/NA.
