I must be an elitist for wanting the empty plots in my ward to fill up huh? I have plot 35 in Goblet, so my view isn't as great but the onsen still feels very private with no other houses in the way.
You dont have too. Here is a link for ALL servers worldwide, with all the plots that are empty, how many have bid, what size plots etc etc etc etc
https://zhu.codes/paissa
The highlighted is the part of this I don't really get. I mean, at least there IS some choice for the moment.
Prior to the new wards being added I was having to throw bids at whatever plots happened to become free, with between 25 - 55 other players bidding on the same plot.
I was at least given the opportunity to be selective, and bid on a plot I actually wanted, rather than just throw a bid at random plot XX just because that was all there was.
With the highlighted remark I ment that there still a shitload of houses to choose from, but people just don't wake up to see them. Or just like to cry on forums etc, calling others elitists for having a house.
And yes, everyone had to bid with 50+ people on plots before the massive ward adding. But now the wards are added, still i see a huge amount of moaning on the forums about how horrible it is they didn't get the plot of choosing. You can also see it from the other side. Bidding on a plot you really want (often one that everyone wants) is throwing your bid away. If you want a house THAT bad, you don't give a **** on what plot you bid, and one somewhere behind a big tree is fine too, because its your house.
Mine (P35) in Goblet has also grown on me and will stay put now since my immediate neighbors actually use their homes and it's nice to see them at least once a day when I'm in my yard crafting (I'm an omnicrafter). You should get the new walls that just came out, the onsen faces the cliff and sunrises are stunning, I imagine it will be more so once the graphics update arrives by 7.0.
I would be content if they allowed us to build a house on our island... start off small, and with gil, shells, or whatever be able to eventually upgrade it to a large would be amazing.
i really cannot wait for that!
Sunrise is pretty, but daytime too

I was originally gonna grab the same plot as yours but by the time I went to grab my gil from my FC chest, someone had put their bid and so not to risk losing out, I bid and won my current plot.
This is what it looks like from my onsen facing the mountains behind my home, at least no other homes, especially the hideous Candy Land and Paissa exteriors ruin the view lol.

That's unfortunate, they must hate the world lol. Oh yeah, the view has grown on me and I hope they add more trees and such in the graphics update, make the valley look like an oasis.... this is Ul'dah, where the wealth is horded and extravagance is the norm, the valley should look like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon with all the wealth Ul'dah commands.
You have empty larges on your server???? Even with the addition of new larges every single one had tons of bids on our server. There was also not a single medium without bids on it in any of the lottery phases.
The comment about elitist housing market is to catch they eye of SE who openly advocates against elitism but then creates a system like this which is very contradictory.
I'm on here polling for every player to have the option/ability to own a house. Location doesn't matter at all to me either, I would take an instanced house and be perfectly happy with it.
You had an option. There still larges open, I think 3. You should check https://zhu.codes/paissa when the 3rd round is up.
If you really want a house, you get a house. In the first round of the new wards, lots of M houses didn't even get bid on. I cannot count the M's that are still open. There alot.
Everything you say is just not true at all. Maybe not bidding on the S-tier places.
Unfortunately, "elitist" is the wrong word to be using here. House ownership isn't limited to the "elite". It's limited to the lucky.
I'll generally say the system is exclusive instead of inclusive, which is another of SE's goals. They want players to feel included. Creating something where supply is not sufficient to meet demand in not inclusive. Some would argue that everyone is included via FC houses or ability for others to add tenants but players aren't going to feel that they are when their access has to be granted by others and likewise can be removed by those others on a whim.
Right now, there are plots available. Most worlds still have plots left from the recent ward addition and relocations, and there will be a few more becoming available over the course of this month as demolition timers start to expire. But those plots will fill quickly on the heavily populated worlds and even the Dynamis worlds will end up filling over the course of the year (occupancy is already at 70% and gradually rising with each lottery). As we get into the latter part of 6.5 and players start returning for 7.0 (not to mention new players continuing to join the game), we'll probably be right back at where we were at Endwalker launch.
You seem to think we are on the same server? lmao
I'm not trying to come on here to argue with people or participate in toxic behavior either.
I'm simply on here advocating for more options for all the players.
Forums are one of the only ways to actually influence changes in a game and I thank you for all the support on this post :)
If you are really wanting a larger plot, the new wards on Dynamis have not opened up yet for bidding. As mentioned, Dynamis is still filling up but you still have a good chance to win a medium and even a large compared to the other data centers or you can wait until this summer (NA) for the other four worlds of Dynamis to open up.
if they wanna do this, they overhaul to overhaul the whole system. which means all furnitures that people have decorate it will be gone, and maybe people will get a refund.
but ofc they won't implementing this because they want players to keep subbing the game monthly
if you just want something to call your own and decorate, apartments seem pretty good to me. i've just recently started playing (been on the free trial since january, just upgraded) and am going for that over the houses, i think it'll scratch the sims 4-esque decorating itch.
that's not to say i don't want a house (plot 25 in the lavender beds, i will keep an eye on you until you go back into the lottery) , but i think that it's not necessary to enjoy the game, especially with how quickly they get snapped up. feels like the smalls are just the right size too tbh, they're cozy.
i wish there was more housing for individuals over fcs, but it is what it is and it seems like that isn't going to change anytime soon
Agreed - I was perfectly content with my little apartment, though I had been placing bids on small plots when they did pop up, though never rolled the lucky number on any of those. And had to just bid on whatever became available.
The new wards allowed a little more choice and I was able to bid on a plot I really wanted.
There is a medium with 30 bids and a medium with 0. People need to stop being so picky.
Different people have different tastes. Chances are most (if not all of those bids) are from players trying to relocate and clearly one of those locations is more desirable than the others.
If you're after a medium yourself, you could always follow your own advice and bid on the one that no one else is bidding on.
I have been trying to get a house since stormblood. Missing a few weeks due to sickness or breaks/vacation I have tried to bid on a house every week. I have yet to win a house. Before it was people using autohotkeys to use a script to repeatedly bid on plots, and now its just plots with 50+ bids on them.
This has been the sole reason of why I have taken unsubbed breaks from the game over the years. You might say that is stupid and maybe petty, but its a feature in the game that is advertised. Not to mention all of the outdoor furnishings we get from events every year, none I have been able to use.
Seriously SE needs to fix this.
There is no reason you should have to feel the pain of losing over and over again and being excluded from a major piece of content.
I want you to have a house!
Our housing lottery period just started and every single house has multiple bids on it within the first couple days.
0 Larges available
16 Mediums with 15 bids min and 69 bids highest currently
Multiple bids on all smalls
Can't wait to see how many bids are on every property by the end of the lottery period!!
Seriously things are not looking good here...
When you say you've been trying to get a house... do you mean you've been trying to get a specific house?
Because there's tons of Smalls with 0 bids week after week.
I've had three different houses since I started in Stormblood. None of them were difficult to get. Two lucky active placards with no one clicking, and one lottery win. All Smalls of course.
I know a lot of people love having neighbours and stuff, but I personally don't care at all about that. why? I have friends who I play with and that's my main focus. I'd be happy to have a house that I can invite them to. that's enough for me. In eso I owned several instanced houses including the Kvatch Sanctuary for Darkbrotherhood which served as my guild-hall. I preferred the instanced housing because I didn't need to compete against others to secure one. I hope square enix embraces the future and transitions into instanced housing.
During stormblood I walked up to my mist 17 small plot, a decent upper B-tier small, and just bought it straight from placard, no wait. At the time tons of goblet plots. That was on Hyperion, on exodus more so.
You can make valid points on lottery without being disingenuous on when the difficulty of obtaining a plot began.
