Similar experience tonight on Tonberry/Elemental. Tonight has been completely unplayable with constant lag spikes. Sent another report also.
Glad to see its not just me. Ive tried everything and confirmed its not me. Im on Gilgamesh and the brief lag spikes have become unbearable since the 6.3 patch. These occur only instances for me as well. I have covered all the bases. Even going as far as having my ISP replace my modem THIS MORNING! Still i receive packet loss. I dont know what to do. Im trying to prog an ultimate but this makes it impossible. I pretty much cant play the game right now.
Trying to play again tonight but having constant packet loss.
I have ultimate raid tomorrow, how to play at this rate…
been to get constant packet loss for days now, getting massive lag spikes and disconnecting occasionally (Error 90006). weird part is that it''s not happening at all on my OCE alt. just as of right now i have disconnected 3 times in 10-15 minutes in Elemental.
Haven't disconnected from it, but the lag is really awful this time of the evening. Everything freezes for 10 or so seconds before zipping back up to the present, then repeats. Funnily enough I wasn't experiencing this 5 hours ago. Could play perfectly fine.
Sent another traceroute report. Sigh.
in the Japanese data center the same. I have delays at all hours both in duty and outside of them since the last patch every day and they do not fix it.
Ok so the issue's still ongoing despite having filed the report like... 3 times now... wanna see something funny? I apparently have "Good Connection" from my place over to the Crystal Server (Materus to be exact)
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...Connection.png
But like... six minutes later for the Guildhest Duty Roulette (I do that to see if my connection is stable and if I don't lag at all) did this happen:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...194334_873.jpg
I spoke to the NPC and couldn't move at all lmao! Had to wait until it eventually did register that I'm still in the game and it tp'd me to the NPC despite being there already lol. Logged out right after I got out, since it's not worth my time and frustration to attempt the other Duty Roulette today if such a thing happened... am rather tempted to cancel my subscription until the issue is completely fixed by their side... since it still occurs in the overworld too when doing the class quests...
Edit: Wish there was some sort of spoiler tag to collapse the screenshots btw.
Anyone else paid a full year’s subscription and not able to play at all? Serious package loss. Estimated 30s lag time. We should be refunded for service not rendered. We tried traveller to other data center in JP. Does not help. Oceania was smooth as silk. Does not make sense that we sell our house and pay extra money to change data center.
Somehow I had no issues tonight after almost of month of hiccups. :D
Hopefully it’s a sign that it is improving for Aus to JP connection.
Reporting no issue tonight as well, but it's pretty much 50/50 at this point... I'm anticipating major lag tomorrow.
I'm on Chaos DC in EU, I've done some digging.
Latency seems to increase over the course of the day, so it seems like a congestion issue.
Traceroute shows the exact pont where its happening, I even contacted the provider, but as I'm not the service owner, they cannot investigate.
VPN helps out.
3 days in a row with no issues for me! But I know some friends from SG using ExitLag VPN that still got issues unfortunately. ;-;
Hope it can be resolved for them soon.
Yesterday and the day before, had no issues. Today mid-evening the packet loss started all over again D:
Reaaaaally bad packet loss rn. Lagging by 10s or more before I just lost connection with the server (90006) completely.
Another traceroute report sent.
I continue the same with 400ms of latency on any Japanese server, from the EU to the US more than 150ms then there are several steps until it reaches Japan and it is unplayable
Today started getting bad latency. The game is lagging in duties 10 to 15 seconds.
After about 5 days of no lag, having the lag issue return on full… game is unplayable once again.
Massive lag right now on Marilith (Dynamis).
After about 3 days of no issue, having massssive packet loss rn
Running a Xfinity 800 package.
I have done the:
the port forwarding
gpu update
bios updated
firmware updates
/ipconfig flush DNS
check for corruption in FF14 files from the launcher, dying here too
Run as ADMIN
bought and tried a VPN
Run in compatible mode
thinking it might be a virus i did a fresh install of the OS
I am fighting with the ISP who says everything is up and running, but this completely knocks my gateway off.
Not sure if this is the right group or not, the right post, either.
Just cant enjoy the content at 30 min drops. Queue up for 20 mins then enter and drop.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Grim
Yesterday and today were a lot of lag spikes for me that lead to unwanted dc's in the end mid dungeon runs. As a DPS player might it be less bothersome for me since I know that the party can handle it with just one DPS, but when I'm trying to level up my Tank Classes or playing any of the Healer Classes is it very frustrating! Did another traceroute just now with the hope that they can fix the problem eventually...
this few days the problem started again, laggy server especially at night. I swear its the server problem, because I changed another ISP, and tried using mobile network, all the same result.
these issues spiked again as of 6.35, and as far as i could guess from social media, it's because they tried the exact same changes to network packets that broke servers on 6.3's launch. pings to the north american data centers puts me at around 26ms, and i have 100% network uptime with no packet loss, yet i'm regularly getting lag spikes wherein i'm not allowed to press a button for seconds at a time, and not only are the same memory leaks that occurred on 6.3's launch happening again to people (see this thread as an example), but on top of that, i've also had friends who will take upwards of hours to transfer when they try to move between data centers, meaning unlike last time, me and my FC can't just visit dynamis when our DC inevitably crashes us.
having this happen once is bad enough, but understandable from the perspective of things breaking at scale. having it happen a second time, with no prior warning that you even made the change again until servers were up, makes me think that someone involved in network infrastructure at SE is convinced there's a theoretically tolerable number of network crashes that would make slightly smaller network packets worth it, when ideally you would recognize that this is an MMO, and the ideal number of people crashing your network would be as close to zero as humanly possible.
Having the same issue since 6.35 patch day. Severe lag spikes on NA servers with around 450+ms latency a few minutes after logging. Seems to be worse in the afternoon / night.
Same here! i'm from South America and some friends from my fc that are from Mexico are having Lag/DC too.
Hyperion / Primal.
I've also been having insane amounts of lag since 6.35, despite my internet being perfectly fine. Many of my friends have too, and it's seemingly at random while we're doing content. It's unplayable levels of bad. Hopefully they revert the netcode changes (again) after what happened with 6.3...
Hey cool, so it isn't just me. My ping to the server is 16ms but I regularly get packet loss when I play ever since 6.35 hit. It's made high input jobs like MCH feel really terrible. I'll also regularly have the game just freeze and show everyone running in place for several seconds and then suddenly speeding up again. Normally if this happened I'd just assume it was on my end, but when it literally coincides with a major patch day and then I see others dealing with the same stuff, I just call it what it is.
Ever since 6.35 I've also had the same packet loss problem. I'm in the UK, running FFXIV on a PS5, using a Plusnet wireless fiberoptic broadband connection. All my other games (and general internet stability) are absolutely fine - just FFXIV that's playing up.
Was trying to play the game early today between 3-4pm and the lag was awful, every 30 seconds or so, until eventual the entire game would hang (really annoying when you're trying to glitch some housing furniture). After the game hanged 3 times in a row I had to give up in the end - the game is completely unplayable for me at the moment. The exact same thing happened with 6.3 a while back until they fixed it, so I guess they've broken whatever they broke previously again this time round.
FYI the hot fix they attempted earlier today hasn't fixed the problem <sigh>.
The "hotfix" maintenance last night was to add gp+9 to some crafting items, if their note is any indicator. Assuming we're thinking about the same thing. I was hopeful as well, but yeah no it's still awful. MCH for me at the moment is playable but incredibly aggravating to the point where I'm like "why bother." I will try using multiple different nodes on my VPN to ensure that the issue isn't just a bad route to the server on my end or something.
edit: nope, even with using a vpn to take different routes to the server, it's still got nutty packet loss. this is gross, man. put it back to the way it was before all this aiieeee
I am kinda begging Square to revert to the previous system lol
Having issues since the emergency maintenance. Am troubleshooting on my end but just throwing this out here in case it ends up being related.
I've also been experiencing periods of high server latency and timeouts since 6.35. It seemed stable last night, but today I've already been dropped twice with 90006 errors. Normal response time to my data center is ~70 ms, but during these periods of high latency it jumps to >250 ms with frequent timeouts and the game is essentially frozen during these times. The same issue persists from two different ISP connections, though one seems to be worse than the other.
Edit: I setup a script to run every 60 seconds that pings each of the NA data centers and records the results. They all seem to be having the same issue at the same times for me.
Shiva, had been having issues with FFXIV since the hotfix. Can't double weave, mechanics are visually stuttering or missing effects, and its hindering my progress in TOP.
Same In UK on BT packet loss since 6.35 hotfix
Light, Odin here.
Was doing roulettes then 8pm GMT came around and I went into an Alliance Raid roulette (got Paradigms Breach) and I started experiencing lag. At first I thought it was my internet acting up but everything else was loading fine (youtube videos etc.).
All the players and the bosses would occasionally stop all movement then start, and it could last anywhere between 0.5-5 seconds every time it happened, though weirdly my GCDs were rolling fine, which lead to every fight being a game of mechanic anticipation.
Had to leave the instance after the third boss when I got the movement debuff during a lag spike and it stuck me in the wall because, despite moving to the correct place to not die; the debuff didn't wear off after the countdown...
Edit: Forgot to mention 3 of my FC mates had random bouts of packet loss like this too since 6.35. The 4 of us have different ISPs though one of them wasn't getting the major spikes like I was at the time of the AR so seems pretty random.
The spikes I had today seemed to clear up after an hour (from 8pm GMT-9:30ish GMT
EU light and Chaos are now having Issues for people on BT lines, tonight is horrendous , my EU alt (i live in the UK) has worse ping than my NA main, no clue if this is on BTs end or Squares but everyone with this issue is on BT
At the start of tonight i was getting 40ms (usually i get 30)
by now im getting 148ms.
as are many others, this needs sorted either Square needs to contact BT or Square needs to fix this on their end.
It's not just bt for whatever it's worth. I'm on comcast in NA and know people who aren't on comcast at all and are having the same issues.
whenever I do a traceroute to the game's na datacenter ip, things look fine until just before it arrives at crystal dc's 204.2.229.11 address. at the step just before reaching it, it times out. this happened on both attempts to examine the path I take to the server. Attempts to change this path by reconnecting via vpn or restarting the router did not resolve the issue.

edit: interestingly, at 4 am this request does not time out. my game has also been far less laggy at this hour.
