Not sure yet but me and a few FC members been thinking about it maybe get a chance to get a large
A friend and I are going, hoping to find a new home. Probably looking at seraph, but not 100% sure.
The datacenter for people who want houses? :p
I'd move if I had gil and thought I had a chance at a medium or even a large.
I have to agree, EU has reinforced what Materia hinted at (Materia is a bit of a special case).
My belief is:
A lot of established people won't leave their home servers, and the wild-west crowd who does move won't be enough to take up all the plots. There are thousands left on the 4 new EU servers, and those have the benefit of existing servers to draw party-finder with. Dynamis will have somewhat Materia like Eureka/Bozja/Random-queues at the start to it's disadvantage, but does get DC travel at least to deal with that problem. (With that travel, I doubt Dynamis will get cheap 60,000g onions, like Materia has)
I don't see Dynamis filling up fast at all; so for personals, skipping those SSS & S-tier plots (like LB 11/41, Mist 5/35, Shiro 30/60) should be enough. As far as personals go, A-tier mediums and larges are still pretty good and it's not difficult for me to believe they should last unbid for a few cycles.
while I won't move, despite not being rooted down.
I do have some people I'd miss, even if I don't actually have consistent contact with them.
or any housing<despite I'd like to> hold me up.
[lately been having a good time in Eureka, despite the few things that should change, and or go away. those who've seem me there and interacted with, I will miss, even if I don't have a large connection with them]
but the idea of a clean<ish> slate is always appealing. and will hope for the best of those within the new world.
[hope to see if Seraph does become a RP center, as a random forumer randomly threw out before.]
I'm prepping one alt and will probably send one or two over as well. The communities I was involved with have pretty much dried up. I also like the idea of a clean-slate server and am interested to see how the community evolves. Of course I'm going to look at housing but it's not the primary draw for me.
I assume theyll do some usual insensitives to the newly servers/dcs, gil and possibly some free play time kind of deal.
I do plan on moving to Dynamis, I don't know which server yet
I'll buy a private house and an FC house if I can
I won’t move my character but I’d entertain the thought of creating one there.
I'm pretty sure I'll be moving. I like the idea of a quieter server, plus I could get reimbursed for my house.
Win-win!
I will be moving my OCE character to the new NA DC for the better Ping I will get. I went to OCE to play with a friend but my PING is so bad there it is nearly unplayable for me there. I just wish I knew which server was going to be the lowest pop. I love small slow servers.
That sounds like a place for emotional people. /s :p
Why would you need to be on right when the servers go up? Didn't they say housing is still going to be lottery, which will start on the 5th?
But yeah, I'm likely going to move my alt to Seraph. Yes, I'd like to take a crack at housing, but also it would be cool to see how a server culture forms from the ground up, and there are plenty of instances covered by Trust at this point that we won't be completely left wanting for content to run while the population builds up.
Nope. My whole XIV life is in Leviathan.
Yep I just don't know which server tho.
Probably just make an alt over there to check out how the raiding scene turns out. If its good then I will move my main, otherwise stay on Aether.
If you can gain the bonus from transferring more than once, sure......
I've been considering this the last few days, and the more I think of it, the weaker I think raiding might be a factor.
To me there is no doubt these 4 new servers on their own are going to be more like Materia but with the bonus of DC travel. All partyfinder queues will be locked into the 4 Dynamis servers. Eureka and Bozja will be only with the 4 Dynamis servers. And I think there is also a chance it could have a large sprout population. To get into non-MSQ content the player will likely need to DC travel over to one of the others, then DC travel back at the end.
I now wonder if there is much chance that raiders, outside of existing statics who all want to move over at once, will be there.
It is quite probable that the only raiders who go there, will do so for a house, and they will be DC travelling a lot.
Because I didn't know at the time that the lotto was going to be used.
Anyways, everyone's been mentioning which server they're jumping on but I have no idea which I want to go to still. I know it won't be Seraph since that's likely going to be the most crowded server.
I might wait a day to see where people are going though. I'm not too fussed about how active the DC will be for anything though since worse case scenario I can always travel back to Crystal. I am super excited at the thought of being some sort of founding member of the server though. I mean why struggle to fit in somewhere when you can go somewhere new where no one else has been and make a place to fit in?
Unless your static relies heavily on access to FC actions for progression, raiding shouldn't be a factor. Just data center travel when it's raid time. A Dynamis specific raid community will take a while to build up due because the population will be small at first, and probably mostly consist of new players who will need to level.
As long as the character is eligible to transfer, there doesn't appear to be any limit on the bonuses for transferring to a new world. The limits are on bonuses for character creation on a new world.
Your character will still be locked to the new world for 90 days before you'd be eligible to transfer it again.
I see dynamis like when crystal was release. It just a server filler for 7.0 with a chance of dead server for raiding.
I'll probably at least send an alt over at first (and possibly level a new character too), but I'm not totally averse to the idea of actually moving there. Even if the servers end up being ghost towns for a long period of time, they will not be completely isolated the way Materia is. DC travel still gives you access to the huge populations and economies of the old NA datacenters. It's not as seamless as the new EU servers that were added to already populated datacenters, but at least it still offers a pathway for people and goods to reach the new datacenter.
I am very curious about what the population will level out with in terms of the ratio of main accounts versus alts, it sounds like many at present aren't feeling quite so adventurous as to transfer their mains, and the consensus seems to be that Seraph will be the more populated server.
I am hearing of quite a few smaller FCs that are planning to move to try for better housing. I think if demolition was resumed this may not have been such an incentive for many but I don't believe they've mentioned anything about that resuming anytime soon.
Do we know if groups are claiming certain servers yet (like raiders, pvpers, role players, etc.)? (●´o`●)ゞ
The homeless and the new players that won't be able to create characters on the soon to be Congested NA worlds are claiming them.
There's really no reason for "server claiming" when all the NA data centers are linked by data center travel now. Players can transfer for the benefits they want to get then use data center travel to hang out with their current social circles for raiding, PvP, RP, etc.
My belief is we will see a RP server form, but I don't personally think there will be a raiding server form. That belief's based on materia and the 4 EU servers so far. Just not enough people to warrant it.
Seraph is a high chance in my mind to become the "busy" RP server based on prettyness. (Using quote marks there a reason, busy will not be Balmung levels for a few years)
Not really keen on any of the names... not that it should matter, but, y'know.
No need or intention to move right away, but might see how populations are looking towards the end of the free transfer New status. I miss being on the lowest pop server.
