I would pay extra money on top of my sub to get Ivalice every day stead of CT. I've gotten CT every day for at least 2 weeks now. Once time I queued for Tower at Paradigm's Breach as duo-healers for my WT and because I enjoy it, and it took almost 30 minutes. Also on the topic of the Nier raids, although I don't particularly like Automata (Gestalt was great though), the Nier raids are among my favourite alliance raids at the moment because of how much more engaging they are than, say, CT.

The most glaring problem CT has in my opinion is the sync. I used to enjoy the crystal tower raids very much when they were current.
SE needs to fix the ilvl sync, generally, not just for the sake of CT, and make mechanics in old duties matter again.

That's fair. Everyone has their preferences. I would also rather get Paradigm's Breach every day over CT. For me so far with each new expansion it's become my most preferred (mainly because of skills available + challenge). So like EW > ShB > SB > HW > ripping off my fingernails one by one > ARR

I would more like to see a rework of some bosses, Crystal Tower and labyrinth got really stale, all the bosses are tank and spank them in the middle until they are dead without any mechanics to worry about.

I'm all up for crystal towers getting level sync or reworked, or put it into separate roulette.
if it was a separate roulette, lazy people can still help novices and get free... stuff, and some people can have more chance to do other alliance to progress through resistance weapon or something and help somebody while doing it, basically win-win.

The solution to this is to raise the minimum ilvl of alliance raid queue to be the same as the first set of raids for your current level. IE, force you to have the ilvl for Void Ark if you want to queue at 60.

As a new player I am kind of fed up having to log on and wait xx hours to try to get into these raids to carry on the story. I don't pay a subscription to watch a clock, then have to log off due to needing to do life stuff. I have a life, and I suspect many others do. These raids shouldn't be part of the story at all, if you want me to know information that is important to the story, then show me the story. Don't make players like myself stand about for hours trying to do raids I/we don't want to do.

At this point I have no idea why I subscribed to a game that is story gating me with raids. And I don't see it as a viable option to pay real money to skip these raids as I'll miss the story I am wanting to see. In short this is terrible game design to be made to wait for hours, in a queue, to actually play the game I'm paying to play.

Can't there be a blacklist option for certain duties you don't want? They could make a whole system for it, for example you could gain blacklist points from something like mentor roulette or being an adventurer in need, and expend them once per queue. idk just spitballing here.

That defeats the purpose of a roulette. If you want to do specific raids, you can pick 5 for your own personal roulette. There are other ways to get the xp and tomestone rewards you want, if that's the goal.

Why add a system when you can just make your own choices?

I feel like the people that are so against CT and looking for a change are in the minority. Certainly anyone that's capped all their jobs has likely moved on to other things. I have. I do alliance once in a while if I'm in the mood to deal with the worst. :p There are better ways to xp. Dungeons take much less time and have generally fewer headaches.

I like it cause sometimes I just want to get my tombs & chill, CT allows me to do that.

But I would like to see The Weeping City of Mach & the last one in the ivalice 24 mans, the one with the thunder god & the sniper robot, I'd like to see those 2 more cause I enjoyed the music, the environment and everything about those two 24mans.

A roulette constantly only serving up 1 or 2 of its 13 potential outcomes is a flawed system.

No amount of absurd mental gymnastics or white-knighting is going to change that, and it's completely embarrassing watching people unironically defending a system in that state.

CT is the one required 24 man for MSQ and because of that it is extremely likely that it will be (by far) the one that shows up the most since "everyone" has to do it; The other 24 mans aren't required and would likely be played a lot less when compared to CT/Aglaia. That is just to be expected. However, there are stupid ilvl cheesers that are skewing the numbers even more ontop of the fact having access to 1 alliance raid gives you the roulette, so some people running the roulette literally only have CT.

Fix the ilvl cheesing and make it so if you need to have all of the alliance raids unlocked that are available for your highest level job (e.g. if your highest level is 50-59, you just need CT unlocked; If your highest is 60+ you need CT and Shadow of Mhach; 70+, CT, Shadow of Mhach, and Ivalice; etc etc. Dinging a max level for an expansion should remove your Alliance Roulette until you unlock the raid series (at LEAST the first one).

In order to run alliance roulette at level 75, you should need to have an ilvl matching Orbonne's requirement and have it and the Shadow series unlocked.

If you don't like that it pops up in the roulette, you're misunderstanding why the roulettes even exist. They exist to coax experienced players to join older content to help the new players that need to complete it. That's it. If players cheese the system to make it easier, who cares? It genuinely helps new players get over the hump quickly and easily. Even new players who are inexperienced and reticent can jump in and things will go smooth and they'll have fun. I dont think the problem is that CT pops, its that its all that pops. One change they could make is to give content weighting in the roulette, so content you havent ran often is more likely to pop than content you have. Or deprioritise content you ran already that day or week is less likely to pop.

Nah, they are not the minority, they just gave up and dont run any roulettes besides the "expert" ot the 90 anymore and dont give a shit to fast-leveling alt jobs.
The Leveling/MSQ/Alliance and PvP-shit roulettes are those duties which give the most exp for leveling jobs, more than what a dungeon can give and they are worth to be done once per day.
I think the major problem is not doing CT over and over again, that's a problem too. I think the major problem is the laziness and the shit mindset of the majority of the casual player base who prefer to cheese and turn their brain off (like if FF required all this brainpower afterall) rather than "git a lil good" and risk for something different.
And you know what?
When a non CT raid happens it's a fucking mess.
This may not be a problem for the lazy cheesed player, but it's a huge pain in the ass for vets and newbies who is forced to run a SB or ShB raids with an alliance that has no clue about what's happening.
So, you're fucking laziness (it's an impersonal "you") damages others 24 players...and sometimes also you when you forget to cheese your iLV and you have to decide to get the 30 mins penality or for once run something different.

And for the record: who has the shit mindset "you don't like it, you dont have to run it" can be applied to them as well. "You don't like others contents, you dont have to play this game".

If don't like CT 24 man raids don't queue for Alliance Raid roulette. I don't Heavensward 24 man raids. Maybe they should remove those from Alliance Raid roulette.

This is why AR roulette is always the last roulette I do daily so I can bail if CT raids pops without any first timer + ilv cheeser spotted + no lv50-59 in my party. I’m 100% not needed to be there, somebody else can take my place… or use the free ticket to get out as well.

Thirty minutes penalty is virtually nonexistent when I plan to do irl stuff or anything that doesn’t involve instanced duties.

Well, the raid in its current state is a 20min penalty already, at least that 30min can be spent doing something more fun.

As one who's played since FF14s beginning, I really agree with this! CT has been nerfes to the ground and the power creep is beyond stupid now!

I enjoy the free exp on level caps- however people cheesing this by unewipting stuff is silly for the exp it gives.

Roulettes are to make sure ppl can do content imo but 30+ mins for anything over the CT raids is unacceptable.

Lower the maximum ilvl, so that people have to actually do mechanics. Problem solved.

The solution is not removing it, the solution is making item sync actually sync you to a reasonable level where content is easier, but still a challenge compared to when it is brand new, and letting you experience the mechanics that are currently just completely ignored by players being hyper overtuned for all old content.

This keeps happening in many dungeons and trials. It's actually really vexing as a player who knows what these fights could be, why bother with making a challenging fight if you'll just let it become an absolute joke next expansion...

The most could see them doing is updating them like they did with the MSQ roulettes and make them 12-person instead of 24-person raid.
