You are saying they keep rehashing the same shit on FFXI over and over again for the sake of it?

SE will not release any other console versions untill the PC and PS3 version are released for a while, the only reason we're getting a PS3 version is because it was promised on the orginal launch.
Also the WiiU doesn't look *that* powerful of a system.
the idea is not horrible, i could think of some nifty usage for the second screen and so on BUT its really kinda weird that you are completely ignoring the biggest problem with a Wii U release...
It--does--NOT--have--a--Hard--Disc....
FFXIV has 12Gigs now and that's only going to grow
I think you naysayers are underestimating several things.
Unrelated somewhat to Final Fantasy(but totally related to the Wii U) is the idea of motion gaming as immersive fun. Take Skyward Sword for example. While it's true that you could play the game with a traditional controller easily had they allowed that, that's not even the point. The point is to literally put you in the game. It's what racing wheels have been doing for years in racing games, and it's incredibly intuitive. My mother and most of my older family members can play through Mario Bros. easy enough but put anything above a NES controller in their hand and they have no idea what the hell to do with it, but these same people will cream you in a match of Wii Bowling. That's pretty powerful, and it's unfortunate that Skyward Sword came out during the Wii's last legs, since it REALLY speaks of what motion controls can do for "hardcore" games.
Also after buying my 3DS in August, I've really come to realize how powerful and "right" it feels to be able to switch from a game like Resident Evil Revelations or MGS3D to Mario Kart 7 or Ocarina of Time on the same handheld. Seriously, it's magical almost. Imagine being able to do the same with a great MMO.
Now on to things relating to FFXIV. Interface, interface, interface. You guys really aren't thinking about how powerful it is to have another screen working asymmetrically with the main screen that allows you to do all sorts of micro management(and maybe new experiences) without ever having to leave the action. Attaching this functionality to a controller(like the Wii U gamepad) is pretty big. I think the DS line showed us how this relatively simple addition can make a game feel that much better to play.
...I guess what I'm saying with that final point is dammit, SE. You can finally make a sequel to Crystal Chronicles that people will actually be able to play easily! I will eat that shit up!
Won't the Wii U have the online friend system? How would that work with PC and PS3 gamers? That would severely impact party ergonomics.

Wasn't the decision not to release on nintendo more to do with the friendcode thing than hardware? Have to admit to knowing nothing about the system but it may still be the main stumbling block.
It support external hard drives which is why i want to buy it i think Prep hard drives need to die in a fire 120$ for 60 gigs? No thanks ill have a Terra byte hard drive for my wii u when ever it comes out for the same price.
Edit: Ity's already been stated that the wii u has better graphics by some other team its able to support better ai's AA and keeping up 60 fps better than the ps3, and is also running best looking xbox 360 games day one so it can only get better.
Wii u sucks, didn't you see their presentation? Like, hoooollllllyyyyy crap wii u sucks.
Depends on Nintendo online policy. Right now Sony offer developers all the freedom they like. Just look at CCP's game, DUST 514 linked with EVE Online players, and cross-platform with PS Vita as well. So, It really depends on their policy.
Isn't FFXIV getting PS Vita functions as well?
