Just noticed all the stuff around the mini map, like the zoom in/out and the moon/sun locations, the button under the - button might be a HP button but can't tell
That was my initial thought, it does seem a lot like that concept art. Reading through the dev letter they mention a release of a 2.0 site just after E3. I get the impression they are withholding a lot of information until this site launches. As much as I love to have these images and it's great to see. It's not as much as I had in mind since last October when we first heard about 2.0 at E3.Quote:
I'm betting you're right. If you look in the background, those buildings seem to resemble the artwork for the chocobo stables.

They definetely seem to have been working on every single detail of the UI and graphics. Even the shadows, that used to be of poor quality, are quite of gorgeous now!
With X|V, we'll be sure to know exactly what our graphics card is exploited for. ;)
I'm a bit curious about the 'empty' slots in the PT list...

We don't see them in:

EDIT: they must be part of the mission/quest/leve that the player is on in the first SS.
There just empty party slots, it seems like they moved Players 3 & 4 into slots 5 & 6 for some reason.
With regards to empty slots I have a theory. They had mentioned macros based on targeting the tank etc. Perhaps you can have pre loaded party slots and you move the characters into which roles they are playing.
Purely as example with a 4 man group, DRG DRG WAR WHM. Giving the option to put the WAR in tank slot and DRG as DD 1 and 2 would allow the WHM to have a pre made macro set and switch the party around to suit. Perhaps in the image with the empty slots these 2 roles were not present but remained there for if anyones joins.
This way you could prepare for different battles. On a tough fight perhaps you need 2 tanks so would could be designated T1 and T2 allowing all party members, esp the healers, to be much more prepared before a battle with much more effective macros.
I love lamp.
Lols, seriously though everything thats been mentioned I really really love soo, so excited ^^
I really can't understand how some of you are disappointed with the graphics.
Sounds awesome as a healer, could just make a set of macros like /ac Cura <T1> and never have to worry about targeting your tank, also noticed that the mobs have letters after there name so it would be easier to say "atk mob-c next" for better coordination
OMG LOVE IT!! Madagora!!! WOOOHOOO!!! "Oh oh" lol. Hope we get that magic shield like in the pic.
And yeah, the shadows are AMAZING!!
Dalamud looks really badass close up.
It's incredible how different the game looks
I cna neither confirm or deny the existence of Roegadyn tails in these images.
This fills me with cautious enthusiasm.
It's a space prision...
But that ignores the benefits of the revamped system. More characters on screen at once, meaning larger scale content. More accessible to players using dated hardware. Personally I'd rather have shitty graphics in a fun game than pretty graphics in a shitty game.
That being said, these screen shots look pretty amazing considering what they were aiming for. And Yoshi's comment, 'You may want to change your character's face when you see how he/she looks in 2.0' had me worried, but no longer.
I get a sense that the new UI was inspired from FF13's UI.
it was teh same with AF weapon screenshot, people cried over shitty resolution and size, then bahyonne posted it was actually taked on a crappy workstation. Almost sure it's the same on some of this screenshot.
Also, don't forget this is still in developing. Textures can still be refined.
I am all for bad computers playing with bad graphics, but isn't that why you have customizable settings, so people with good computers can play with highres textures and people with bad computers play with lowres textures? And I would expect that they are infact showing the best settings on screenshots released to the public, so I guess we're stuck with bad groundtextures and bad foliage cause everyone wants to press "high settings" then?
