Being overly positive also can make devs lazy. They think they're fine to go and it gets released as an unfinished mess. (See XIV at launch)

Yeah I do, and I'm very impressed with their current attitudes with XIV. That doesn't mean I need to delude myself into thinking 9 screenshots = a complete and utter game fix.

And that was Tanaka's fault for releasing the game waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of its completion. I didn't get disappointed at launch because I was part of all the beta's since alpha 1 and I saw nothing being done up until release. I ended up canceling my CE preorder 1 week before the early head start went live. But I just came back about 1.5 months ago now and am having a blast! Can't wait for 2.0!

No one said that, my thanks were for the change in what he did, we have no idea what the endgame is going to be. All we have is what he has promised, and what he has shown to have actually fulfilled his promise on. He has really out done himself.

i understand your point to be objective, but we seen forced pessimism since 2.0 reveal, because "we had already been tricked, i'll never ever trust SE" and so on, we are all tired of this.

I really hope that screens are from PS3 or lower specs pc, the restyle looks great now, but tecnically it looks downgraded from the actual game... (except shadow and illumination that really looks beutiful)

Thank you to both the 2.0 team and also the 1.XX team. Despite my semi recent arrival here i've enjoyed the current Version and how much you've been able to add despite the difficulties, and thank you for putting in the hard work to make everything even better!

I really love all the little things that make this game FEEL like an FF game. The world just seems more alive, truly what it should have been from the start. The dialogue box when talking with the moogle just makes me feel at home, and like it should be there. Even the mini-map now makes sense and feels more grounded. I'm really happy to see some of the fruits of the dev teams labors, everything looks amazing!

Thanks dev team and Yoshi P.... Thumbsup and keep up the good work. Excitement for 2.0 is building with just these shots alone. I also see why the trailer was withheld I wouldnt want to see Cybertron...I mean Dalamud in CGI until 1.23 story stuff was done.

Also guys to each their own. This game could rock and be flawless and there will always be those bringing up the past. Stop living there and live in the present and presently folks can be happy. We appreciate you caring enough to try and defend our feelings if we are to be disappointed but hey thats part of living.

Thank you Yoshi and dev team, everything I am seeing here, gives me great hope and I'm really excited! I've kept the faith, through trying times! I've been here since day 1 and now, my dreams are coming true!!

All year long, my boyfriend has been giving me grief for playing this game and teasing me about moving on to a "real" MMO. Then I showed him today's batch of screenshots, and he said: "...okay I may have to give it another try."

While Igolf's right in calling for a little bit of caution when it comes to our expectations of 2.0, his reaction his overblown.

Excitement of what we're seeing? That's not bad. It's ok to say 'oh, hay, I liiiiiike! I'm finally getting excited again!' So long as we're not expecting too much beyond what we see.

Personally, some of the things I'm seeing here are impressive. I too, feel that tinge of excitement. Still not expecting much more than the map redo's and UI improvements, but that's essentially what they are showing here.

That and did you catch the list of options for character customization? That'll be nice to play around with.
