God created stupid people to keep smart people entertained..
Online age checks were created by childern to fool silly uninformed adults. :D
Unfortunately, a big portion of the players in the game plays because of the ERP stuff, nobody is going to willingly cut their profit until there's a reason like the laws etc.
Honestly, if the age rating agency was alerted, it's possible they would require the game to change the ratting from T to M at this point, because the character generated content is for mature audiences.
These people don't get that they may get in people under age doing such as well... but these people only think with a special part of their body anyway, to even taking that into consideration.
second you say 18+ only you are thing, if they made dedicate spots it would be safe for everyone as they require a date of birth upon account creation...
so we just trust people are being honest when they say they are above 18
its not our fault the game devs lack the brain cells to make 18+ areas and worlds
This literally goes both ways. Stop shoving your stupid fetishes into every space. This is not a porn game. It will never be a porn game, and no amount of shameless fursona posting will ever change that. Tab out to the ‘hub like a normal person and please see a therapist, like others have said.
Blacklist them?
I seriously doubt that we're actually talking about all ERP cafe's here, people just have a tendency to assume that all RP is ERP at this point.
Ehm, I am pretty sure that linking to porn in public chat is a bannable offense.
Then again according to people on this forum the GM's both ban people for everything but also at the same time never bans so who the hell knows.
This game doesn't belong to you, other people play the game too and can play it how they want.
Acting like your personal feelings and tastes should override that of others and dictate what others are allowed to do is pretty shitty imo, even if one doesn't like ERP I think that's something most people should agree on.
Otherwise where does it end, you can't just apply personal opinions to this because yours isn't anymore valid than that of others.
Like I said above you already have a tool for this if you're really hung up on seeing it for some bizarre reason.
Use the blacklist function.
There needs to be some kind of nuance here.
If you're just advertising it by saying '' come to my cafe 18+ '' then how is that '' shoving your stupid fetishes into every space ''?
You're being way too overly sensitive and is just getting upset for no real reason at that point.
If they're actually linking to porn however or if they make very obscene comments in public then that's a different matter and then I can agree it's a problem.
However lots of people do this not just ERP:ers, recently I was in Limsa and people were having some weird personal feud in public they were spamming about and cursing at each other.
If you see '' 18+ '' and immediately have a complete mental breakdown about it then you're the one who needs to see a therapist tbh, it's not a normal reaction.
Do you have this reaction too when you see lingerie commercials in public?
Just like obscene comments are different than just '' come to my 18 cafe '', lingerie ads are also different than porn.
It's not all the same and it's about how people do it.
But no, your hyperbolic reaction isn't normal either.
I think most normal people don't think this is a big deal in 99% of cases, there are a few cases maybe where it crosses the line but most people don't obsessively hate ERP or just the mention of 18+ stuff.
I dont care about age restrictions, never did and never will. And im a furry and into... stuff too, really, but how shameless some are and how much they push all that stuff is just too annoying...
I think you might be extrapolating a little too much from what is my first/only post on this subject. I don't care if anyone wants to ERP. I don't care if two consenting adults want to pretend to be catgirls and do the dirty. I don't care about 18+ PF listings, and would agree they're probably one of the better ways to try and filter out those who are underage since they do specify "18+". I have no issue with just blacklisting and going about my day. The person I responded to has expressed in the past an immense hatred of children, to the point of wishing for their complete eradication, because they cannot ERP openly in this game or be walked on a leash like a pet in public spaces. THAT is what I would advise someone see a therapist for.
I don't have, nor do I want kids. I do, however, respect other people and their spaces.
They won't up the rating of this game for the 3 people who want it, go play something that has nudity or whatever it is you want. Conan Exiles is literally right there.
Teens aren't dumb, and they can go "hmmm what's the date I would need for this?" and just... put in that info. Nothing is stopping them.
100% people put in fake DOBs and stuff already, I see it plenty on reddit with "I don't remember my info because I put in a fake date of birth and other info and now I'm locked out and can't recover my account :(" posts because people don't write it down to change later or whatever. Usually, the ones who have done that are the teenagers anyway, or people who think they're getting... internet privacy? Idk. But age verification won't do a rat's tail to stop people from going into those spaces. Most roleplayers are smart enough to vet who they play off of, whether it's SFW or NSFW, and to make sure they aren't playing with someone underage - or, if they don't mind the SFW stuff but stop it at just SFW with an under 18, that's fine too. If the boundary of "I will not erp or discuss anything NSFW with you" boundary is broken, they'll usually cut contact. I've seen it in plenty of roleplaying places, and XIV is no exception.
currently at the time of writing, there are 54 groups posted in PF.
22 are other.
two of them are [18+RP Event] Forbidden Fruits are Ripe for the Picking.
2 of them are some trash dj advertising their twitch channel.
1 is a bot selling runs.
the rest are various RP groups, with carrd.co websites.
ban them all.
So many judgmental people in this game coming out of the woodwork!
I have 0 qualms with what people do in this game, just as long as they a) don't harass others with erp messages/propositions, b) keep it where it should be in private (tells/party chat, private housing, etc). If they wanna bonk their internet barbies together, that's their prerogative to do so tbh. I have no interest in it, but I'd only caution people to be careful with who you may be smashing your barbie together with lol.
Just curious, is advertising 18+ venues on PF even allowed since everyone is able to access the PF and see the listings, including minors.
Alright... Sheesh didn't think we'd get two of those at the same time and both going the same way and length. First of all, can we drop the whole "think of the children" facade? It always gets dropped whenever someone wants to back up their beliefs when it comes to the matter of censorship or "controversial content" and it's almost always just a convenient excuse. As for ERP itself... It exists. Some groups focused around it advertise on shout chat in similar vein FCs try to find recruits. So? Whose really harmed? They're the exact same players as othwrs having exactly same rights.
The unchecked growth of the ERP community has attracted a lot of people with boundary issues to the game. A lot of the NSFW communities are an echo chamber where certain types of behavior is normalized or allowed to go unchecked, and their behavior starts to bleed out into common/shared spaces. I see it a lot just raiding and doing other stuff in game; Super gross comments, people shoving NSFW images of their character or mods at people in every discord they join, creepy solicitations (I get nsfw solicitations sometimes on my lalafell of all things), just all kinds of uncomfortable situations. It's just so visible on this game in comparison to the others I've played, largely because no one gets seriously punished for making it visible. Someone can ignore the issue of Minors completely, and see how bad the lack of respect for consent has gotten in this game.
This game is devolving into something like Second Life; People underestimate just how many people are flocking to this game specifically because of the reputation it's garnering. I've reached a point where I'm embarrassed to mention this game to my friends who don't play it, because most of the time their knowledge of this game comes from places like articles on the billboard incident, or NSFW stuff they've seen on twitter.
"18+" doesn't necessarily mean ERP so I think the GMs review them on a case by case basis if reported. I imagine they come down harder on the ones that have veiled language seeming to imply explicit activity. Explicit language in PF descriptions is definitely against ToS.
Can we start banning people who think all RP events are ERP events?
The truth is that i am seeing someone she recommed i rp so I atleast feed how i enjoy to feel so it doesnt eat away at me.. Look your throwing around the word fetish but the truth is its never been a fetish to me just a way of life even as a child I always felt more like a pet than anything else got older bought my first tail and ears (attachable to cloths) then moved up further and further..
so look it not even sexual that i desire well not completely more like the state of mind the scene and the feel of being a pet
( i wont deny that now it turns me on a bit but it never was about sexual part as main)
also its not so much i want to die, as it is i want to go to hell where its atleast a paradise for ppl like me
I see lots of people with alt accounts. :P
First off roleplay is part of FINAL FANTASY PERIOD its AN RPG
second off roleplay includes erp, and ff14 basicly encourages it lets be honest swimsuits ,housing, marriage, stirp club in eulmore, sexy playgirl bunny etc..
So honestly a shit load
Also my bad its case senstive the discord is FurryPirate#3061
Bro ain't none of that have to do with you posting this nonsense about wanting to be "a pet" or wanting to "go to hell"
Get help if you think that swimsuits, marriage or housing in anyway "encourages" ERP, stop watching so much adult videos too its rotting your brain
Why do you think some people roleplay? its to experience a fantasy or inner desire, or something that makes them happy... for me being a pet is a state of mind and makes me happy, and lets be honest hell is a paradise for people like me.. rp or not... regardless thats a mix of personal and rp AND THE REASON y i rp to start with.
to create a scene, or something to bring a smile and get happy thats y atleast i rp to be my real self
Second of all if i didn't like feeling like a pet i wouldn't play final fantasy :) final fantasy is perfect for it
My grandfather once told me "I've never turned a computer on, and a computer should never ever turn you on." Consider this next time and go play VRchat or other adult games like Second Life that support this if you want this kind of nonsense, or go join sites meant explicitly for ERP where people would accept you discussing this type of inappropriate stuff. This is a Final Fantasy game meant for families and children aged 13 and up.
man that furry needs to go touch some grass
So they play trance? That, and what else?
Quite often when someone shouts about such-and-such DJ, I always ask what kind of music they spin because, in all honesty, it's kinda weird IRL for an unknown DJ to not advertise what kind of music they play. People out looking for a night of drum and bass aren't the same crowd looking for house, which isn't the same crowd looking for dubstep, and none of them are looking for pop.
Well, not usually.
So, anyway, I always ask what kind of music and never get a response. I could not care less about the ERP; I'd go to listen to music if I could figure out where the styles I like are being played.
And do they actually mix, or are these just generally playlists?
Just curious. I guess it probably all varies, just like real life. Sometimes you walk in and the DJ is telling a joke or something instead of spinning records. Good times.
