The ability to blacklist/ignore people in duty finder content.
1. A better transmog tool. Without limitations.
2. I need a new gathering job : archeology. And no, I don't care if it isn't related to any crafting job. Just need it.
3. A better dps rotation for healers.
Yeah, I know, it it's really "quality of life" points. But heh, that's what I really hope to see in the game.
Being able to receive all the venture items from my retainers and re-assign them with 1 click.
"Delete all" button on blacklist just because I don't want to remove RMT spam bots that have cluttered that list since ARR 1 at a time...
yes i do gather.. and yes i know you can have the raw material list for items and see if you have it.. but when i farm to restock my supply i don't want to open each item i want to craft just to see if i need it. and have to run back to the same zone i was just in to get it.. I want a master list with all the items.
they are updating the graphics. it will be in the 7.0

Overhaul the UI
The problem is if those new players would unlock them and know how to or know should they unlock them or not. Unfortunately from how much it seems like an extra content, it seems many wouldn't unlock them and this might be the reason the level 50 ones keeping popping up instead, the other reason being that people unequip their characters before queueing up for the 50 to pop up since they're easier and faster to do.
To be honest, I'm so tired of seeing them to the point that I don't want to see them anymore myself, I even avoid doing the AR duty roulette cause of that, it's almost like doing the Main Scenario duty roulette over and over again, which feels like a chore.
- Vertical axis to furnishing. We can lift things already, however giltching stuff is a cursed thing to do - a sneeze while building and everything falls down;
- Optional player chat bubbles so I can for once see what people are saying in the middle of the combat without having to look away from the action;
- Let me change combat music to either one of the previous expansions or one of the special ones - like the FF4 combat music that plays only in a certain portion of the Moon;
- A better interface for attaching/removing Materia from gear without the delay and animation - let the flashy little effects happen in the interface itself;
- Let us hide map elements, like quest markers;
- Overhaul at the vendor menus. There's no need for several separate menus for different items... Let everyone be like Rowena vendors, with a single consolidated dropdown list;
- Let us use materia and dyes directly from the chocobo saddlebag - also expand that saddlebag at that;
- A macro command to turn a keybind only into the representation of the action, without the GCD trigger - So I can use them just as visual guides for procs/cooldowns without the GCD icon sweeping animation;
- Integrated UI mouseover - This can be a huge QoL for healers, since macroing mouseover is bad in the long run;
- There are still a few extra actions that would make complete sense to be merged since one can only be executed after the other one, like Play & Draw, Ley Lines & Between the Lines, Perfect Balance & Masterful Blitz..
- A better item search function;
- Let me customize my chatbox name with a specific color;
- Give us the option to omit elements from the party panel - things like MP for non-MP users, the order number before the names, or the header "full/light party"... I already know that information just based on party size anyway.
- Timer on the status icons in the party panel;
- Option for a more compact target nameplate (similar to the Focus Target)... The long one we have is kind of odd to fit in some layout designs.
- Optional target dot/buff tracker bars at the job's gauge. To some people that element is better to track than an icon with a number;
- Let us choose just a specific slot/s from a glamour plate to use - we can do that already, but with an awkward equip/unequip/equip routine (i.e. "I just want the pants from a certain plate");
- Let us store EVERY artifact armor at the Wardrobe. I don't know why we can, but just with the ARR sets. That would certainly save a ton of slots for a lot of people.
- Let us rename our minions like we do with the Chocobo.
- Give the option to preview an orchestrion roll at the Market Board;
- Let us record and save ingame Bard performance sequences to use automatically;
- Let me appear offline in my friend's list - Sometimes I just don't want to be bothered;
- Overhaul the action "spellbook" - It's really messy, especially when the *cannot add to an actionbar* actions get mixed with the other ones.
New housing UI
for X, Y, Z axis placements
To scroll/ slide/ lift & sink items to the left, right, up & down.
stop forcing people to do the walk of shame to pick up their gil in front of the house they lost in the lotto.
- Being able to put all items on lofts
Would be a great improvement to FC rooms and apartments
- Party Buff/Debuff timers like we should have had at the beginning of 2.0.
I still don't understand why this isn't a thing. Its right there when you target a PC/Boss just let them also show up on the party list.
- While in gpose being able to change the weather/time of day.
Big undertaking but it doesn't have to be that grand to start. Just being able to clear the skies and set it to full night or full day time would be nice.
- Being able to set certain emotes as default poses.
For example, the new draw/stow weapon emotes we got are amazing and I would prefer to use them automatically when I press Z.
Put all items whose sole purpose is to be exchanged for another item at a vendor - therefore making them a CURRENCY - into the CURRENCY TAB.
This (and a glamour system overhaul, which has been mentioned in this thread enough already) is the hill I will die on. Don't tell me to just throw it away - I may want to get a thing later that I already earned the currency for, and why should I have to run that content and earn those tokens again, in that case? Just put the tokens in the panel that you already made for... you know... tokens/currencies.
If one of your retainers has the crafting material, you don't need to take it out from that retainer to actually use it in the item you're trying to craft.
This is the biggest reason why I never bother crafting or leveling up new crafters.
The QoL on old relics is terrible and the process of obtaining them should be massively streamlined. ARR relics, for example, have absolutely no reason to grind level 40-50 FATEs for RNG drops in 2022 when there’s basically nobody doing them to level. I started doing one and just ran around on my own before getting immensely bored and stopping. Eureka, which is much better, still has this problem with instances being pretty inactive at certain times or there being a lull between FATE spawns. Redesigning this content into a modern format isn’t necessary or ideal but drastically reducing the time investment would be fine, especially when there’s no actual player power associated with them, just shiny glamours.
On the note of old content, a lot of old content really sucks for soloing. Coming from WoW where Blizzard would actively make things work solo, for example skipping mechanics that needed multiple players, it does suck to not be able to drop into anyway old content and solo it. It’s fine for ARR and HW, for the large part as PLD anyway, I’ve tried some of the SN extremes recently and it wasn’t so smooth. Not to mention old savages and alliance raids are a completely different story as well. I’m only doing it for glamours or mounts, I see no issue in just being able to solo through old content without any real thought as opposed to doing the same but with like 2-4 people instead.
I have another one,
Make is so you can have your the NPC you have in your house sit/ lay down exc..
5) World Travel from Foundation or Kugane Aether's.
4) More furnishing items for small houses
3) WoW/ESO style transmog system for glams
2) Glam dressers in houses
1) Make all parties formed Crossworld parties by default
Butt slider.
And no, I am not joking. I shouldn't haven't have to wear the 2B bottom in order for my character to finally have a well filled out butt and thighs that actually match her upper body.
Seperate Limit Breaks for everyone during all content.
Basically you as an individual can level up a personal limit gauge to lv 2 and no higher. The effects are different based on roles.
Healers level 1 a strong group heal that is near instant cast. Level 2 a single target quick cast resurrection on the target of your choice.
Tanks: level 1, a self targeting high damage negating buff, like a shield. level 2 a strong DPS like damaging move that has some kind of benefit that falls in line with tanking.
DPS: These remain largely the same as they are now.
I can agree with this to some extent, though I'd much rather see ephemeral nodes go on the burn pile first.
Or, barring that, reduce the cool down on cordials. Standing around waiting for GP/cool down and watching a node rot is rather infuriating. As far as pure QoL issues, I think there needs to be some effort put into improving the leveling mechanics for crafting jobs. Some sort of .. more detailed explanation that your chosen job is going to directly depend on contribution from at least two other crafting jobs along with a gatherer or two (which I believe most people expect). A brand new player to the game will quickly find themselves against a wall when leveling a single crafting job, or two unrelated jobs ... and not many of them at lower levels can just run to the marketboard for what they need easily. It makes the whole experience rather blunted and frustrating.
+1 to these, most definitely.
Personally, I think they could easily make the prospect of owning a small house much more attractive to people if they would simply add the ability to access additional chambers, much like FC houses. They could, for obvious reasons, be far more limited in scope (perhaps even a purchasable add on, to facilitate the "gil sink" idea) and number, but it would go a long way to elevating small houses from being an apartment with a closet on top of it.
It's not that those pictures are "enhanced" with shaders ... it's the current shaders themselves that are getting updated. Many of the current in game assets won't have actual new "textures", rather simply a change to how those textures are rendered and delivered client side. Though there is a mountain of assets that will just absolutely require complete retexturing, I'm sure. Also, those screenshots are just a proof of concept .. an example of what they can do within the limits of the current engine. I wouldn't expect the actual final product to look much different, if anything, they could potentially look even better ... for example, as a personal aside, I think the specular mapping needs to be looked at more closely for organic material nodes. But that's just me.
I want all the special nodes to stop self-destructing if you leave one before clearing it out. I also want them to stop being windows, they should just respawn at whatever time and then you can go get them at your leisure instead of realizing you were afk during the wrong couple minutes and now have to sit around watching paint dry for half an hour.
Oh, and the ability to set which chat tab is my default when logging in.
Healing role to actually exist.
Automatically dismount, if you are on the ground and using a skill.
When you remove someone from your friend list, it's done for both of them, like in WoW, it should be basic.
Currently it's impractical to put a lalafell NPC (or retainer) behind a full-height counter inside (or outside) of private estates, because they can't be placed on the standard lalafellin step stool that other NPCs in the game use - they just fall through it to the floor.
Enabling NPCs to sit down on chairs and other surfaces would be nice as well.
I'd prefer this to be optional to avoid unnecessary sprout (and Eureka/Bozja) death.
If a mounted low-level player/sprout accidentally aggroes a high-level monster (or pack of monsters) and is trying to escape, they might panic and hit the wrong button, then auto-dismount and be eaten alive.
It could also be an issue in Eureka/Bozja where you may have to run past monsters who can aggro if they turn at the wrong time or you get too close, or if you cast (magic aggro) or have low HP (undead/blood aggro.) Casting could simultaneously auto-dismount and cause magic aggro, which could be unpleasant.
I always hate it in Elden Ring when I get knocked off my horse and then have to run away on foot and re-mount, but in FFXIV you can't remount if you have aggro, so it would be worse.
I ... I dunno, man. I get the impracticality of putting a lalafell NPC behind a counter ... and that does suck ... actually had to move one of my own npcs because of that. But .. dammit, it always made me giggle to zone into the house and see just a forehead and little eyes peering out over the counter rather deviously.
Actions & traits menu:
It should indicate which ones are on your bars already, and highlight the bar position when you mouse over it.
Abilities on your bars that your current class doesn't have should be X'd out to make it clear they're unavailable. Or, mousing over a bar ability should highlight it in the Actions & traits menu. If it doesn't highlight, you don't have it.
WoW added this, and it saves a lot of time when setting up a new character or reconstructing bars on an existing one.
HP value displayed on the target bar , and focus bar
Timers on the buffs and debuffs of the enemy list and party frames
The personal debuffs shown on the target to have an option to make them larger using the same UI editor scaling system and the colour of the text be altered to player preference
The damage types received to be colour coded ( physical , magical and the unmitigable boss type)
A timer on the player waiting duty ready frame
More UI editor options to move the NPC battle chat , quest and system messages Eg: You collect/loot/kill x/4 , the achievement awarded , gathering and combat action eg: "+Sprint" combat text , anywhere we wish it to be.
An option to change the font colour of the duty list (quest list) so that the white text doesn't meld with bright landscapes
A UI option that highlights debuffs with a floating icon over the affected party member that has a cleansable debuff , and a party UI colour surround indication , with a similar effect for raises required , or in progress with options for the debuff indications to only show party (if the default is alliance)
Add a deep and bright green bar on any DOOM debuffs that require healing to full to removed , similar to how light blue for cleansable is a thing already ,and add a player UI guide page for doom debuff in the guides section on the player help menu , or add a doom debuff mechanic in the healer job roles to teach new healers about the differences and learn from the mistake of the NPC /player dying from it if they didn't heed to NPC chatter about the debuff - you do it in the NPC instance when you play the lala healer from the first which is nice but a bit late.
Add a percentage value next to the tertiary stats inside the character frame under the attributes tab . Its useless to most people what 789 crit hit is or skill speed 600 , having the actual percentage next to it is far more useful and understandable to most
All to meals display the actual increase in stats before the total possible as its currently showing, based on the current job your using when you hover over the item icon in your inventory
Change the duty pop from that god awful high pitch " ting! " to a more prominent deeper sound or mini fanfare/ battle drum roll types you hear in other mmos , i cant hear it when im boiling the kettle in the kitchen as the sound is too high pitched my kettle heating up drowns it out and its very important to have a fresh brew before any duty , with hobnobs or chocolate digestives on a side plate and it sucks if I didn't hear the duty pop.
- a toggle option to have PvE one-button combos (Just like in PvE)
- Marketboard overhaul (Allow me to buy the quantity I want!)
- Housing blacklist
- Search option to the blacklist (Instead of having to find the person to blacklist)
- Extreme trials roulette for those who would want to do it and the removal of ex trials from mentor roulette.
- Apartment decoration permission for others
- Ability to adjust the size of plots for gil instead of them being fixed.
- Baldesion arsenal and Bozja duties are available in duty finder with their own roulette (Called Relic roulette since these duties are in a relic zone or a part of a relic progression)
- Full support to Viera & Hrothgar hairstyles and helmets
- A toggle option for chat bubbles
- Death recap where you know what killed you
- lore description to actions so you have an idea what's the lore behind some of the actions you have instead of suddenly having it (Job in-depth lore that ranges from simple descriptions to interesting and more technical descriptions)
- Expanded or a second floor for apartments (It's a thing in FFXI)
- More chat windows!
- A glamour tab system where every glamour you acquire is registered with previews of the glams you haven't acquired and how to acquire them. Basically WoW transmog tab!
- Overhaul to the mount & pet tab in a similar fashion to the above (WoW did it right so no reason why not to follow them in this regard)
- Adding rogue class to the character creation menu
- Challenge achievements where you have to do something specific in a boss fight (Like, kill Hades ex synced with one tank. Sure not a great example but stuff like these where you can either have a clear or go an extra length to have an achievement with the clear)
Yeah, I wish I could be a game director...
Make people understand the difference between gamechanging and QOL updates.
It wouldn't affect those who already have it unlocked and leveled but I think it would be a good QoL for beginners if SCH had its own starting class vs sharing ACN with SMN.
As it stands now, if a new player wants to start out as a healer, their only option is CNJ and then naturally progressing to WHM, with SCH being locked behind 30 levels of playing as a DPS class (ACN) and needing the foreknowledge that ACN is the only class with branching jobs, AST being locked behind getting to certain point in HW's MSQ (and probably a 20+ drop in level), and SGE being locked behind being level 70 and owning EW. With this, new players can learn the difference between regen/pure healers and shield healers sooner and would have access to a healer that would introduce them to oGCD healing and handling unique mechanics sooner (Faeries being accessible at level 4, getting their first oGCD heal, Whispering Dawn, at 20, and Aetherflow and Lustrate at 45 vs CNJ/WHM, who gets their first oGCD heal, Benediction, at 50 and their unique mechanic, Lilies and Afflatus Solace, at 52).
An option to disable character voices in combat. So much ear-gouging screeching......
