Fix this nonsense.

The house I recently just got was fully decorated the very same day I got it. I was so happy that I grabbed a bunch of my closest FC mates and made them tenants and immediately went to sharing my place with them. For me, a house is a place to gather with friends and have a good time. That is what we've already begun to do. I strongly suspect that for a great many other players, the social aspect of housing is a thing for them too.

I will never understand how you can fully decorate a house in a day. My creative process just doesn't work like that. Even a cottage takes me north of a week.

Its all about how many times you have deco a house/appartment/fc room.. for someone who has never deco a house/appartment/fc room yes it could take a wile///For someone who has had a house before or shared a house before and deco'd it goes alot quicker... Like every thing the more you do it the easyer it is...

You learn to look for empty spots that need that extra touch and so many other things the more you deco

I have but I'm hardly experienced with it. I think I've done four cottages, a mansion, and an FC room at this point.

I use to own 7 houses 3smalls 4 medium and large fc all deco differnt..this was back before the one per server (And before im attacked Coeurl was on aether at the time the night they added 1 per server rule all 3 wards had 100+ empty houses even 8.5mil mediums I counted lol) but i quit the game and released all mt houses and Gave my large FC to one of my members mist ward 5 love that house lol..

It just depends on if haveaidea what ya gonna do or not i just did a basment for afriend took me about 2 1/2 hours...but iused parts of old floor plans i had made before

It's easier for me in that I get claustrophobic fairly easily so I tend to gravitate to more open-style types of décor. Means I have less work in that there are few or no partitions to monkey around with.

well this angry name calling thread is going no where very fast and calling programmers names will get you nowhere very fast.

I can understand the frustration. We have been asking politely at least since HW and nothing has been done to actually address the problem.
Also the OP might be blunt but they weren't rude or calling anyone names.

We have a situation where player requests for instanced houses have been ignored. No reason has been given why we can't have them, not even an acknowledgement of the numerous requests for them.
Couple this with the fact that every character is now being given a large, personal, instanced island. A lot of people have alts, in theory every player can have 8 characters per world. Each character can get an island.
I can only conclude they had the necessary resources to make instanced houses but chose instead to put them towards a feature that is both self-contained and time consuming (not great for player interaction in an MMO as WoW Garrisons proved), and this feature is something that nobody actually requested.

Under the circumstances, I think the majority of posters have been remarkably polite.

It actually had been getting requested by JP players, and even NA/EU players were asking for the ability to have minions running around in housing. Since SE said it wasn't possible in housing, they incorporated the feature into Island Sanctuary.

Otherwise, I agree that this probably will not be what most players are looking for. The customization options seem limited to choice of building type and style. The farming and other gathering is specific to upgrading buildings and generating the Island currency to buy whatever those rewards are. Those into collecting things will probably enjoy the creature hunting.

But it's not the housing and not the gardening players are actually after.

I know people asked if their minions could run around in their housing, I'm sure I gave a 'like' to some of those posts; but if that innocent request has been fulfilled at the expense of giving more players access to houses, then I sincerely regret endorsing it.

Either way, I think the 'not enough resources' argument has been thoroughly debunked by the fact that Island Sanctuary will be available to every character.

Yeah.. Kinda hard to take that approach when they do something like this, huh?

I am.. Ignorantly optimistic on one key feature. The fact Everyone gets an Island Sanctuary. This could be a very nice testing ground. Perhaps if it's popular (and the system allows it) they could add a capstone quest later on, granting people the ability to build their own personal housing ON said Island. (Complete with all the features a House provides)

It'd act as Instanced housing, deloading when it's not active so it's not a burden. It allows people to have access to what they want and it doesn't de-value the Ward housing, as there are still people wanting the Neighborhood. If not potentially be a catalyst to try and make, say. An RP Ward.

Incredibly optimistic given people aren't fans of RPing outside of ul'dah nowadays, but it could happen! I'd very much give up everything for an entire Housing Ward to be deemed "The RP Ward" and have plenty of player-run shops, companies and such all running for the sole purpose of promoting actual RP and progress.

This, just ^^^^^ this, I hope and from what little we know and what was said on Island Sanctuary, sounds like very much a testbed for this kind of system and they did say they'll add to it down the line based on player feedback? I think, might be bogus as my memory is a tad bad so I hope when it comes out in 6.2, the demand to make it housing as well as a farm skyrockets so they can work on it more and stabilise it to accommodate such a demand and the idea of this birthing 'RP Wards' like proper RP, not just nightclub venues and other such things people think are 'RP' would be just the pipe dream I want c:

The problem is Se silence.. If its testing then say it.. Id almost drive to Vegas and put a grand down that these forums are gonna be flooded with the people who thinl the word "buildings" means houses to deco.. If they were smart they would listed the buildings i know a few hard headed people holding onto that pipe dream not matter how much i tell them it will not be a house to deco like a barn for your animals fruit stand for your garden items and a silo for like grain...

If it was housing to deco SE would say to shut us all up lol I know me ive been asking for instance housing for probly 4+ years
